Kiera stared at the screen, her hand trembling. The image of her sister, standing in a dimly lit room, exchanging documents with someone she didn't recognize, refused to make sense.
"No… this can't be real," she whispered, shaking her head. "My sister… she wouldn't—she can't—"
The man in the shadows stepped closer, his eyes sharp in the dim light. "She already has. And she's been playing her part perfectly."
Kiera's pulse spiked. "Playing… her part? What are you saying? That she… helped them?"
He nodded slowly. "She's been feeding information to your enemies. Everything you thought was safe… was never safe."
Kiera stumbled back, clutching Leo tightly. "But… why? Why would she do this? She's my sister!"
The man's gaze didn't waver. "Power. Fear. Manipulation. And perhaps… she believes she's protecting you, in her own twisted way. Some people hurt to save."
