"It was so hectic. Am tired " Asha said, resting her head on the desk.
"Just admit it. You're lazy and that's that." Elise pointed at her" Finish what's been given to you, then we can all move on." Seeing how she was quiet for a while.
Elise held Blue's hands " Are you perhaps in a new relationship? " she said looking at her reactions.
Blue immediately choked on air. It being four months since she started seeing Railan, It didn't feel like it was the right time to let the know yet. Mark pats her back, his eyes glinting with hidden amusement.
"Can you not terrorise your friend, "Mark said from beside her.
Elise didn't even spare him a glance " I was just asking a question. "She defends.
Mark got up and went back to his seat as the teacher entered class.
During break, Blue was in a good mood. She helped a few classmates take their books to the office and her friends were even surprised.
Knowing she wasn't the type to do all that unless it was their Math teacher who would often send Blue ,him being the one that paid extra attention to her making sure she's paying attention in class and having full notes .
Other than that she's always with her friends.
"You're being suspiciously nice to everyone today. What's your deal,hmm?'' Someone from the back seat said as she handed a pen to Rina a girl she barely talked to most of the time being the type that doesn't start conversations unless necessary. So she always had to start first.
"Do I need a reason? , You know I'm usually this way."
"Yes you do. Usually it's not this much "
Blue beamed. " Don't tell me your guys are jealous." She teased.
"No."
Blue couldn't help herself from smiling looking at their antiques.
"Elise "
" Oh no. Here it comes " they said in unison.
"You're distracting "
"Yes because I'm that GOOD LOOKING "
"And no brains. "
Mark chocked on air, coughing .Elise gasped dramatically.
" You.....!You thing. You annoying wall!"
He looked at her" You don't even have a comeback , do you?" Giving her the pity look.
Asha and Blue laughed so hard almost falling off the seat.
"Stop provoking him. You always lose. "
"Not true I…"
"You do." They said in sync.
Elise turned her back at them
" You guys like to bully me."
"Not at all. And you know that." She smiled and had to let it go after all it was just now a daily thing for their group .
Later that evening, after doing all the necessary stuff , Blue was on the phone.
" Railan? "It came out as a whisper through the phone as she got drowsy.
"Yes"
"Do you like coming to school that much ?" She asked him.
"No"
Blue put the phone on bed and opened the speaker . " Then why do you come atleast twice a week? "
Railan was quiet for a while " Because I have some paperwork to do. And you're there too."
"That's cheating. Saying things like that is unfair. " she couldn't help it but smile after hearing it.
"You asked. I'm just being honest. "
Blue put her face in the pillow as she wasn't expecting that. The conversation went on till late as usual, after a while she fell asleep as the exhaustion kicked in forgetting about the phone if it was on or off.
A few days later, Railan intended to meet her at the school when he came to get his documents. But for some reason, for a week now Blue hasn't been coming to school.
She didn't even reply to his messages, which made Railan worried and try to find a reason why Blue went quiet on him.
Where was she and why wasn't she answering his messages.
Blue was home sick and trying to catch up with all the work she missed for the past week. Elise and Asha made sure to send her all the notes every evening as she had asked from them.
Her phone pinged showing a new message.
[Railan]
" Did something happen. I haven't seen you at school for a while now. Is everything ok?"
That reminded her that she's been off the internet lately only talking to her friends when she comes on and goes off straight away after receiving her files for the day.
"Hi. I'm better now, just came down with a fever for the past few days . So I skipped out on classes. "
Blue sent the message and waited for a reply hoping it was enough for him to understand.
[Railan]
"It's ok. Get well soon.*-*"
She smiled looking at the message before putting the phone on the night stand and finishing up with her notes.
When Blue got better and decided to go to school, alot had happened and that fact got to her a little . She was busy finishing up her work when Laura came into the class and took Blue without an explanation to her surprised friends. Knowing it was just for a birthday party in the lower class was fine. But finding out it was non other than the girl that doesn't even pretend to show her hatred towards you was another.
All she could do was pray this gets over as soon as possible so she could go back to her class. Anna didn't even hesitate to give her all the bad looks someone can receive in a day.
The birthday party was just a small one consisting of Anna's group and other students from the class and the next . It went on for a while and they cut the cake and handed the drinks to people around but all Blue wanted was to get out of there.
When it was over ,Blue thanked Laura and wave to her as she entered the classroom.
During free period, she went to Laura's side as she promised before and spent the day laughing and talking to them as time went by without even noticing .
