Chapter 111 - Chapter 111: 'Saint Celestines Wrath (Part 1)'

Amidst the furious roars and the pungent smell of blood, the girl with heterochromatic eyes trembled violently, clutching her head. A layer of frost appeared on the ground around her, and the air seemed to drop by dozens of degrees in an instant, the biting cold making everyone nearby shiver.

She pressed her hand on the holy image of Sanguinius, trembling as she prostrated herself at the angel's feet.

No one noticed, not even she herself, that a dazzling light emanated from her eyes.

As the last battle brother fell, Roman Roland's last shred of sanity shattered.

The moment his battle brother fell, he saw the duel between the angel and Horus that took place on the Vengeful Spirit in the 30K era; he saw the murderer of their Gene-father.

He saw his Gene-father's legs and bones broken by the Warmaster's 'Worldbreaker', followed by his chest being crushed.

The angel's head was twisted 360 degrees, his flesh torn, his golden armor shattered, his neck bone broken, the skin on the left side of his face from chin to forehead peeled off by Horus, his bones pulverized. He fell forward, only to be clamped again by Horus's Claws, his body twisted and crushed into bloody pulp by the massive talons…

This extremely bloody scene completely destroyed Roman Roland's sanity. His muscles twitched, and a terrifying red light emanated from his eyes. He raised the Chainsword in his hand towards the traitors before him, letting out a deafening roar that made the church's dome tremble:

"Horus, what have you done!!!"

His earth-shattering roar terrified everyone present, even intimidating the greedy, bloodthirsty Bloodletters.

That duel brought a profound curse upon all Blood Angels.

After Sanguinius was killed by Horus, the psychic illusion of his last moments before death could be seen by all Blood Angels, and this hallucination was more likely to occur in higher psychic environments.

Regardless of whether the individual was a new recruit or a veteran, once they entered the illusionary state, all living beings in their sight, whether friend or foe, appeared as Horus, who was fighting them.

This was the Black Rage.

Once triggered, the Black Rage cannot be reversed. These berserkers, having lost their sanity, will gain a tremendous increase in combat power, slaying everything in their path. Fighting to the death is their only release.

Therefore, warriors afflicted with the incurable Black Rage are assigned to Death Companies, their power armor painted black, and a red cross marked on their shoulder pads as a symbol.

They will be thrown into the bloodiest wars as suicide squads, either slaughtering all enemies or dying in battle.

"Die, Horus!" Roman Roland, in a state of Black Rage, thrust his Chainsword at the Space Marine who had cut down his brother.

The opponent tried to block but suddenly found he couldn't keep up with the enraged warrior's movements.

Buzz!! Buzz!!! — The Chainsword roared incessantly.

The furious, successive slashes under the Black Rage forced him to retreat step by step. His warband brothers felt a rare fear towards the Blood Angel in Black Rage. One axe swing was instantly parried with astonishing reaction speed, making it impossible to restrain him.

Three crimson weapons intertwined, and after a series of swift collisions, there was a heavy, crisp sound.

Two Chain Axes were sent flying by the berserk power granted by the Black Rage. The cornered Khorne Warrior, in desperation, even tried to block the Chainsword slashing towards him with his hand.

Buzz!!!

"Ah ah ah ah ah!" His entire arm, along with the ceramite armor, was split open. Blood splattered, and Roman Roland was bathed in it.

"Unforgivable! Unpardonable! You will pay with everything you have! Die, traitor!" Roman Roland shouted, violently thrusting the Chainsword into the Khorne Warrior's chest.

Before dying, he finally understood why the master he served always so desperately desired the fall of the Blood Angels.

This Black Rage Blood Angel before him was a pure killing machine, born for battle, exuding the most terrifying aura of slaughter, far surpassing any warrior he had seen in his warband.

Splish!

The Chainsword, a blur of motion, chopped the traitor who had killed his brother into nine irregular, bloody pieces of flesh.

Roman Roland stomped on the head, crushing it to a pulp, then looked at the next 'Horus'.

Behind Roman Roland, Horatio, with all active and passive skills activated, had pushed corruption to its limit.

"Even if you take our lives, you will not take our hope…"

A black power seeped from the iron hand, rapidly blackening the entire bionic limb, and then moved up Horatio's arm directly towards his heart.

"To protect those we cherish, we will fight to the death in glory!" He roared, red light emanating from his eyes.

Crash!!! —

A row of stained-glass windows above the church instantly shattered, and a dozen Blood Angel veterans wearing golden helmets appeared from mid-air in the church, their jump packs roaring, spewing pure golden flames.

They were the elite of the elite within the chapter, with at least three service studs on their heads.

The angel veterans descended from all directions above, wielding Chainswords and engaging in the slaughter, slashing while firing their master-crafted boltguns at the unclean.

Inside the church, surging psychic energy, the faith of tens of thousands of people, the power of carnage, the fury of hatred, the sorrow of grief, and the resolve to face death were twisting and merging together.

A dial slowly spun, its needle filtering the representation of six emotions simultaneously in the Warp.

Finally, the needle stopped on an angel clad in golden armor, with pure white wings on his back, holding a sword and a spear.

An extremely powerful psychic energy caused alarms to pop up on the ears and in front of the eyes of nearby warriors, indicating a sharp increase in psychic readings.

Click.

The blood tear on the sculpture turned into a golden tear, flowing down the angel's beautiful cheek, and dripping onto Horatio's iron hand. The red light in his eyes turned golden, dispelling the blood-like crimson, and a beautiful, golden-tinged red emerged from his eyes. The bloodstains on his face rapidly receded, revealing normal skin.

Instantly, the sword blade emitted an extremely dazzling golden light, directly annihilating the Bloodletter that approached Horatio.

The blackened iron hand was also instantly cleansed by the golden tear, turning into a translucent silver, coated with a golden halo.

When Horatio, engulfed in 'Saint Celestines Wrath', gripped the Spotless Angels Scourge with his iron hand, it began to tremble violently, its sharp teeth roaring spontaneously.

The machine soul cheered, the machine soul rejoiced. It screamed, it roared, as if it had seen the Gene-father its master once followed.

The Bloodletters also smelled what they desired and charged again.

"I will slaughter all of you! I will banish you forever!"

With just a few swift slashes, Horatio instantly cleaved through the swarming Bloodletters.

The demons screamed, realizing they were not being banished back to the Warp, but were being torn apart and devoured by a terrifying psychic power.

In Horatio's eyes, all these Bloodletters looked like the Khorne Greater Daemon Khabandha, and those Khorne Chaos Space Marines, in his eyes, looked like the ascended Daemon Prince Angron.

Unlike the Black Rage of the Blood Angels, Horatio, in his extreme fury, remained himself.

He could clearly perceive everything around him; his sanity and thoughts remained clear.

Sanguinius's wrath brought him immense power, and even the pain in his leg instantly vanished. The only thing he felt was an unprecedented, strange power.

The Khorne Warrior with the glowing arm who had wounded Louise looked at Horatio, whose eyes glowed with a golden-tinged red, and approached with heavy steps.

A golden wing flickered faintly behind Horatio. The Khorne Warrior saw that above this mortal's head, there was a war god angel with spread wings, holding a sword and a spear.

The angel wore a golden, emotionless mask, with a cold and magnificent aura.

Just looking directly at it, a powerful force compelled his legs to press down, as if forcing him to kneel.

[Impossible, his leg bone was broken by my kick, how can he still walk!] The berserker showed an incredulous expression behind his helmet.

"I'll cleave you, you weakling who puts on airs!"

The berserker roared furiously and charged at Horatio, two Chain Axes, stained with the blood of loyal warriors, slashing at Horatio's head one after another.

Horatio, instead of retreating, adopted the exact same combat stance as the Sanguinius statue.
