By now, Mr. Lancaster had fully regained himself. Even though he hadn't heard every word, he had pieced enough together.
He sighed softly.
Then, to everyone's astonishment, he walked straight toward Lena and pulled her into a warm embrace, patting her back affectionately.
Gasps echoed.
Lena chuckled lightly in his arms.
"What a beautiful woman you have grown into," he said, pulling back and holding her by the shoulders as he studied her face with pride. "Long time no see."
"Long time no see," Lena replied gently.
"I'm still not over how you cut me out of your life," he added with mock grievance, though his eyes were fond. "But that conversation will be for just the two of us… away from prying ears."
Lena nodded in agreement.
"Mr. Lancaster," Cynthia called, her voice no longer steady.
He turned briefly toward her.
"Is it true?" she asked, forcing the words out. "Did she design the Love Triangle?"
Mr. Lancaster smiled.
