Chapter Eighty-Two – Paranormal Realm 78
Not the normal castle bells. This was different, deeper, more urgent. The kind of sound that made everyone in the room go tense.
"What is that?" my mother asked, her grip on my hand tightening.
"The perimeter alarm," Vael said from near the door. "Something's approaching the castle."
"Can it wait?" Dorian asked, not looking up from what he was doing. "Because we're kind of in the middle of something here."
The alarm got louder, more insistent.
And then someone was shouting in the hallway, their voice carrying panic and urgency.
"Demons! Demons approaching from the east! All hands to the walls!"
The room went silent for exactly three seconds.
Then everyone started talking at once.
Except Dorian, who just looked at me and said calmly, "None of that matters right now. Push."
So I did.
Because apparently, my children had decided to be born in the middle of a demon attack.
