Chapter Sixty-Nine – Paranormal Realm 65
"My father wants to meet you," Nicklaus said over breakfast on day fifteen.
I looked up from my toast. "Okay."
"Today."
"Okay."
"He's bringing Damon's father with him."
I set down my toast. "Both fathers. Today. Together."
"Yes."
I looked at him for a long moment. "You're telling me this very. . . calmly."
"Of course."
"You're telling me this very calmly, which means you're aware that I might not be calm about it."
"Are you not calm about it?" he asked, in the tone of someone who genuinely wanted to know.
I thought about it. "I don't know yet. Ask me again in ten minutes."
He smiled. Just slightly. "They're arriving at noon."
I looked at the clock. It was nine thirty.
"That gives me two and a half hours to prepare to meet two retired Alphas who are probably going to judge whether I'm good enough for their sons."
"They're not going to judge you."
"Nicklaus."
"They're curious. That's different."
