Chapter 13 - Stay With Her Tonight

[Main Quest issued: Lie on the same bed as Lumine and hug her from behind until she falls asleep.]

[Tip: At least until she falls asleep.]

Jibril: (╥﹏╥)

Paimon was still hiding behind a stack of plates as she continued to eat, showing off her big appetite. Amber and Lumine were chatting nearby while the Flügel had fallen into a deep thought.

Who even am I?

Where do I come from?

Where am I going?

She knew absolutely nothing except that... this system was complete, nonsensical, and absolutely dogshit!

Are all the side quests about killing monsters and all the main quests about flirting?

Damn system... you... "Paimon! No more eating!" Lumine pouted and poked Paimon's head as she handled the last plate of Sticky Honey Roast to Jibril.

"Jibril, do you want more? You didn't eat much just now…"

Looking at the girl's innocent expression, Jibril was almost in tears.

Filled with a heavy sense of guilt yet with a trace of shameful anticipation. She took the plate from Lumine's hand and placed it down as she took small bites.

Hmm... 6,500 Mora for a serving. Tsk, so expensive....

'System? What's the penalty for not completing the quest?'

[You don't want to do it!?] The system's voice boomed like thunder and Jibril felt it carried a hint of shock.

'Of course I don't want to do it! If you dare to make me hug Lumine to bed, then are you going to make me do something even more outrageous tomorrow! She treats me like a friend but I treat her as if she's my wife!? That's not right at all!'

[How could that be!?]

Jibril breathed a sigh of relief thinking she had misunderstood the system. Perhaps it just liked the daily interactions between girls.

I mean, it's normal for best friends to share a bed right? It's very normal...

[She'll be your master in a few days. So if anyone's doing anything, she'll be doing you, you chicken~] the system stated bluntly.

[T/L: dang just got threatened and told a bottom in the same sentence...]

Outside their communication channel, Lumine was shocked to find that Jibril had started crying while eating.

Laughing and crying, she looked as if she had suddenly come to terms with life.

Lumine leaned close to Paimon, who was eagerly staring at the food the Flügel was eating. "P-Paimon, do you think they put too much pepper in it?"

"Delicious... Paimon doesn't think so..."

'Yeah.... I'm not doing it. Punish me if you want. Everyone else has the Archons, so.. are you some sort of foreign God of Gays??'

[Ah... that's a pity.]The system mumbled softly in a rather affected tone. Like a demon tempting one to commit a crime.

[I thought you would've definitely accepted, so I didn't prepare any sort of punishment... So how about this. I'll shorten the 100-day deadline to instead 10 days? Oh sorry, to be precise, It's now less than 10 days now... ]

'Well, speaking of which...' Jibril abruptly stuffed half a piece of food into her mouth and swallowed it with water.

Her eyes were as determined as if she were about to join the Knights of Favonius.

'Sleep with her? Oh that's easy! Just prepare the reward for me in advance!'

After parting with Amber, the group tidied up a bit and then separated right there at The Good Hunter.

Unfamiliar gazes had occasionally looked over but it was clear that while the locals were surprised, they were also very polite.

No one shouted "My Lord Barbatos" and rushed forward, nor did anyone perform any performance art on the spot to shock the travelers.

"Jibril, why don't we just stay around here?" Lumine gently patted the somewhat distracted Flügel.

"I have a feeling that if we go further into the city, rooms will get very expensive..."

Jibril was originally pondering how to make herself seem less like a pervert tonight. Her thoughts being suddenly interrupted made her uncomfortable.

Where am I even at...?

Unconsciously, she seemed to have arrived at a crossway.

Warm lamplight illuminated the hair of the girl beside her and also gilded the distant city walls. The gentle night breeze carried the scent of apples and wine.

Looking down the alley, at the end, on a carved wooden door, several large characters were clearly etched.

Angel's Share

"Are you sure you want to stay in this area, Lumine?" Jibril showed a thoughtful expression.

Lumine, who was about to walk into the alley, had stopped and tilted her head to look at Jibril. Her expression was like that of a rabbit.

However, what the little rabbit didn't know was that the big bad wolf beside her was full of mischief.

"It looks like there's a tavern in this area. It might get noisy at night..."

Lumine looked in the direction Jibril was pointing and indeed saw a whole group of boisterous men laughing and talking in the distance.

The blonde looked troubled.

"Acting Grand Master Jean didn't give us that much mora.... Do you want to stay in some other area? I'll listen to you."

"Jibril! we still need to save some mora for food..." Paimon wiggled her finger and let out a burp.

"It's fine. I still have Mora here." Jibril said generously, patting her chest. "Let's go in over here and ask if there are any more comfortable rooms."

Although she felt something strange, Lumine still nodded and followed Jibril into a nearby inn.

Behind the counter was a woman. Her profile under the candlelight was beautiful with her braids draped over her chest.

Like the other travelers around, who were either playing cards or chatting, the front desk lady seemed to be shocked by the Flügel who floated into the inn.

But was able to calm herself down, she resumed her professional service demeanor.

"Welcome to Drunken Poet! Are you two... three young ladies looking for accommodation? What type of room do you need?" The front desk lady said gently as she waved at Paimon.

"Do you have a soundproof double room?"

"Please wait a moment."

After flipping through the ledger for a few seconds, she looked up.

"You travelers are very lucky. There's only one high-end double room left tonight."

"Wow~ What good luck..."

"If you book a high-end suite, we can also provide free late-night snacks, breakfast, and wake-up service."

Wake... wake-up service?

Jibril blushed and wasn't sure as to why she did. Paimon, however, suddenly became excited.

"Free late-night snacks and breakfast!?"

"Yes." the front desk lady chuckled as she covered her mouth. "We offer many Mondstadt specialties and also alcoholic beverages."

"Then we'll—"

Lumine quickly reached out and pulled Paimon back. "Excuse me... how much Mora for one night?"

"The Inn is having a promotion so only 40,000 mora per night."

Paimon immediately stopped struggling and started floating backward again, but this time Jibril held her tightly.

Lumine awkwardly patted her wallet and whispered to Jibril. "Jibril... how about we stay in a standard room, or... or—"

"No need for that, I'll handle it!"

"So much money, don't be like this... I—"

"Ladies," the front desk lady looked at Jibril, perhaps having heard her generous offer. "We also have high-end king rooms which are much cheaper, only 20,000 Mora per night."

Damn it! Is she a system-arranged helper!?

"You're all girls, so squeezing in together isn't a problem~ If you switch to a regular room, the environment would indeed be slightly worse..."

Jibril felt like she was being set up, but how could she refuse the lady's "kindness"?

"We'll take the king room, please arrange us a room. Thank you, Big Sister~"

Jibril grabbed the blonde who was about to count money and directly pulled out several bags of mora, paying everything, including a tip.

Lumine-chan! Take it... this is my last bit of conscience!

Tens of thousands of mora worth of conscience!
