Inside the New Jersey base, a faint sound of spacetime tearing echoed through the air.

In the next instant, two figures clad in white futuristic quantum combat suits materialized out of thin air.

They were from the year 2023—

Captain America, Steve Rogers (Avengers: Endgame),

and his long-time rival, Iron Man, Tony Stark.

"Hey, Cap, you do realize that if we don't find any Pym Particles, we're going to be permanently stranded in the past," Tony Stark said, his voice carrying the same arrogance and cynicism that once defined a young Howard Stark.

Even the annihilation of half the universe had failed to cure him of his sharp tongue.

"Relax," Steve Rogers replied calmly, glancing at Tony. "There have to be Pym Particles here. And the Tesseract. Nick Fury told me so."

"Wait—hold on, Cap. I just thought of something," Tony said suddenly.

He activated the stealth field of his nanotech armor, his expression turning unusually serious.

"?"

Seeing Tony like this, Steve instinctively straightened up as well.

"Let's say we collect all the Infinity Stones and snap our fingers," Tony continued, theatrically mimicking the motion. "Then we run into a pretty serious problem."

"So… are we bringing back everyone on Earth who was snapped away by Thanos, or are we restoring the entire universe that was wiped out?"

Life.

Tony stared at Steve. The question left Captain America silent.

"Well," Steve finally said, shrugging slightly, "we're Earth's heroes. The universe isn't exactly our jurisdiction."

"Oh, how cold. How selfish. Truly the Earth-only Captain America," Tony mocked.

"This is the price of playing with time. We refuse to fail—but we also refuse to save lives on other planets."

"So I've reached a conclusion," Tony continued coolly.

"If Earth were destroyed, would the universe finally know peace? Maybe the purple guy was right. His only mistake was being too merciful—letting half of Earth survive."

Tony's words kept flowing, sharp and relentless.

This time, Steve Rogers did not respond.

In truth, the original purpose of the time-travel plan had always been simple: to save Earth's dead.

As for the rest of the universe—just as Steve said—it was never their responsibility.

What were they really doing?

While Steve remained silent and Tony continued criticizing the absurdity of the plan, neither of them realized that they were standing inside Dr. Hank Pym's laboratory.

At that very moment, Lancelot's Eye of the Future erupted into chaos.

Before his eyes, two completely different futures unfolded—both diverging sharply from the year 1970.

In the left future, everything continued as normal.

The Mutant Evolution Home thrived.

The White Queen Emma Frost and the other mutants still existed.

No crisis.

Everything remained unchanged.

But the right future was utterly different.

In 1970, the Mutant King Lancelot vanished into deep space, leaving the mutant civilization leaderless.

In 1971, the U.S. military launched a full assault on the Mutant Evolution Home. Casualties were devastating.

Emma Frost, Black Emperor Xiao, Azazel, Riptide, Kraken West—many powerful mutants were captured.

That same year, Mystique, Raven, set out alone to search for Lancelot.

In 1972, the situation worsened dramatically.

Mutants were hunted nationwide, beaten, arrested, and persecuted once again.

With the founding of Trask Industries, Bolivar Trask officially launched the Sentinel Program.

Without the deterrence of the Mutant Evolution Home, mutants became prey.

In 1973, the first generation of Sentinels was deployed.

At the same time, mutants began experimenting with time travel—without Lancelot.

In 1979, Logan was captured by Colonel William Stryker and bonded with adamantium, becoming Wolverine.

In 2005, Logan met Rogue, entered Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, and joined the X-Men, led by Professor X.

Meanwhile, Magneto, Erik Lehnsherr, upheld mutant supremacy, leading the Brotherhood in open conflict with humanity.

In 2006, events reached X-Men 2: Magneto escaped prison, Professor X was controlled, and Jean Grey was buried beneath the lake.

In 2007, Jean Grey returned—sparking the third X-Men war.

From 1970 to 2013, the future seen by Lancelot's right eye progressed relentlessly—until Trask Industries mass-produced second-generation Sentinels.

In the following decade, the Sentinel crisis escalated into a true apocalypse.

"So it's as expected," Lancelot murmured.

"A branched timeline… caused by two men from the future."

His Eye of the Future remained active, revealing the full tragedy of mutantkind.

An hour later, Lancelot closed his eyes.

Everything appeared calm again.

But only he knew the truth—

He was now standing in a parallel timeline of 1970.

In this fractured reality, the mutant evolution family had collapsed.

All his followers were gone.

Emma Frost.

Mystique, Raven.

None of them existed here.

Neither did Black Emperor Xiao, Azazel, nor the mutant army Lancelot had personally cultivated.

Even Evolution Glory Biotech, the company he founded, had never existed.

His Eye of the Future had changed as well.

He could now see two timelines simultaneously.

In the original timeline, Lancelot vanished.

Emma Frost swept the entire New Jersey base with her psychic power—finding nothing.

In despair, she left with Raven, returning to Siberia to wait for Lancelot's return.

"Days of Future Past…" Lancelot whispered, his pupils contracting.

There was no doubt—he had been rejected by time itself.

In this universe, 1973, mutants from the future would send Logan's consciousness back in time.

Whether he could return to the original timeline—or remain trapped in this one—Lancelot needed confirmation.

Bang!

Suddenly, agents burst into Dr. Pym's lab, weapons aimed directly at Containment Pod 3.4.

"Oh?" Lancelot said calmly.

"Without Emma's psychic shield in this timeline, you finally found me?"

His gaze turned overwhelming.

"Kneel."

Lancelot activated Geass.

The agents dropped to their knees instantly.

"Who gave you the courage," he asked coldly,

"to point guns at a Mutant King?"

The temporal anomaly surprised him—but it did not frighten him.

What truly enraged him was the future of this timeline.

"First," Lancelot said quietly, adjusting his clothes,

"I'll eliminate the ones responsible for this temporal fracture."

Then he walked out of the laboratory.
