Inside a luxurious room at the headquarters of the Central Intelligence Agency.

Lancelot and the White Queen, Emma Frost, stood facing each other.

At this moment, confusion filled Emma's face, and a trace of inner struggle flickered in her eyes.

Just moments earlier, Emma had met Lancelot's gaze—and instantly felt a strange mental force invading her mind.

Panic surged through her. She immediately activated her telepathic abilities, desperately resisting the unknown psychic intrusion.

Chirp.

A crisp birdcall echoed.

In Emma's vision, Lancelot appeared to be enveloped by a massive crimson bird. An overwhelming, irresistible mental force surged forward, violently crashing against her consciousness.

Before that colossal, fire-red bird, Emma felt like a fragile boat tossed about on stormy seas. She could only pour all her psychic energy into constructing defenses, barely preventing herself from being swallowed whole.

She exhausted every ounce of mental strength resisting the giant bird—so much so that, in reality, it was as if time itself had frozen around her.

Click.

The wine glass slipped from Emma's hand, shattered on the floor at her feet, and red wine splashed out, staining her shoes crimson.

Behind Lancelot, Raven and the others stared in stunned silence at his upright, unmoving figure—and at Emma, swaying unsteadily.

They had no idea what had just happened, and could only watch Emma with heightened vigilance.

Only Raven understood.

She knew Lancelot's mutant ability was Absolute Command. And this was the first time she had ever seen someone resist it.

That alone earned Emma Frost a measure of Raven's respect.

The first time Raven met Emma, another familiar face surfaced in her mind—Charles Xavier.

He possessed the same telepathic abilities, only far stronger.

"I wonder if Charles could defy our king's Absolute Command," Raven thought, eagerly anticipating the day Charles and Lancelot would meet. Only then would she witness Charles lowered in defeat—or fully submitting.

Boom.

Emma had no attention to spare for Raven or the others.

Layer upon layer of psychic power enveloped her, crystalline and flawless, like living diamond.

"Who are you? Why are you attacking me?"

Within the psychic realm, Emma stared in terror at Lancelot, who stood surrounded by the massive bird, and shouted with all her strength.

"Lancelot. King of Mutants."

Lancelot regarded the crystal-clear, diamond-like Emma with clear interest.

This was his first time using Geass on a telepath, and even he had not anticipated this outcome.

By activating Geass, he had actually entered Emma's mental world.

With faint surprise, Lancelot observed the psychic realm around him.

"It's beautiful," he murmured. "Just like your appearance—pure, elegant, and pleasing to behold."

Emma Frost's mental world was breathtaking.

The sky stretched endlessly, filled with countless stars glittering like diamonds.

The blue heavens were immaculate, dazzling beyond words.

Beneath her feet lay an infinite expanse of white land, dotted with radiant structures—like a fairy-tale kingdom.

Emma herself, protected by divine psychic power, shone like a diamond. Behind her spread a pair of flawless white wings.

Relying on those wings of the soul, Emma resisted Lancelot's first Absolute Command.

Pledge your loyalty to me.

"I, Emma Frost, will never—ever—be loyal to anyone."

Though she stood on the brink of being overwhelmed by Geass, like a boat about to capsize, Emma spoke her truth with unyielding resolve.

Chirp.

Geass met fierce resistance—and ultimately failed.

The crimson bird behind Lancelot beat its wings, letting out a harsh cry, announcing the failure of direct control.

"If I can't command you directly," Lancelot said calmly, glancing at the struggling Emma, "then I'll be gentle."

"Emma," he said softly, "become my family. You'll never be alone again."

This time, he used no coercion.

He extended his hand—and spoke the words Emma Frost had longed to hear more than anything else.

At that moment, Emma's resistance froze.

She stared blankly at the impossibly handsome Lancelot before her as cracks appeared in her psychic defenses.

Yes.

Emma missed her family—deeply.

Since awakening as a mutant and gaining telepathy, humanity's malice had laid itself bare before her.

As a child, she sensed her parents' hostility, fled from home, and wandered alone.

As time passed, her psychic power grew stronger—and so did her sensitivity to human malice.

Vile, disgusting thoughts echoed endlessly in her mind. Humanity's darkness sharpened her strength, but left her unbearably lonely.

That was why, when Sebastian Shaw found her, she willingly became the White Queen of the Hellfire Club, treating its mutant members as her companions.

She was no longer alone—at least for a while.

But over time, the Hellfire Club lost its meaning. Shaw began issuing orders rather than standing beside them.

Emma hated that feeling.

Her former companions were drifting away, forming their own factions. She wanted to leave Shaw.

So when Professor X and Magneto came for her, she barely resisted—and was easily captured.

And now, hearing Lancelot's words…

A crack appeared in her psychic wings.

As he said—Emma Frost yearned for family, affection, and love.

"Family…?"

Once a crack formed, it spread instantly.

Her psychic wings vanished.

Lancelot's Geass transformed into a colossal bird and engulfed Emma completely.

Geass:

Become the family of Lancelot.

Receive love.

Never be alone again.
