He almost fell down the stairs from the force, but he only barely managed to gain his balance back.
He looked up at the furious Morgan who was glaring at him. In all honesty, it was kind of getting him..
Anyways.
She threw another punch at him, but this one he managed to dodge, practically jumping inside the door only to have a kick meet his back and be sent flying onto the couch.
Morgan was already upon him. Luckily, she closed the door behind her, so it looked like she wasn't completely enraged.
"What were you thinking! Do you know what could have happened!"
How would she know anyways, it just happened a couple of hours ago. Another fist met his nose. Now it was starting to hurt.
While her fists were flying down, he grabbed her wrists, staring directly at her in the eyes. Only now did he notice their position as she was straddling him on the couch.
"But nothing happened in the end right? So isn't that all that-"
Another blow almost reached him. This one he only narrowly dodged. Rolling off the couch, he slid back on the floor.
"Go to the training room. Now."
She was quite bossy to a person who did her quite the favor of killing her annoying older brother. Shouldn't she be thanking him?
Still, he obeyed.
---
The sound of flesh slapping on flesh echoed throughout the room, groans.. of pain reverberating.
"Y-You're really going all ou--!"
Before he could finish, a high kick met his face. He had a hard time, it wasn't because he couldn't fight hand to hand, but rather he didn't want to hit Morgan. After all, she was like a delicate flower to him, and even a slightly rough touch may make her lose her petals.
Suddenly, a leg aimed straight between his legs. He barely managed to shadow step out of the way.
"Ok, yeah play time's over."
She could afford to lose some petals.
"This is a punishment, not a fight. So take your punishm--!"
Just like she sent to him, a high kick met her face. She was sent back, a red mark on her cheek.
She touched it as if in shock, looking at it before looking at him, and looking back on it.
And then chaos exploded. She lunged at him. Her attacks were like a pattern, so he would assume they would be easy to dodge with shadow dance. The problem being, despite shadows being wrapped around him, his flaw still somewhat affected him, not by hurting him but rather sending a tingly sensation throughout his body which threw off his concentration.
So to put it simply, he was on the receiving end of this beating. He's tried multiple types of battle arts only for each of them to be pummeled through by the pure strike force Morgan is delivering.
This is the perfect time to put something he's been wanting to test into fruition now though. As a barrage of fists met his body, for the first time he let blood flow out. It came out his nose, mouth, and body as he let the shadows disperse for a second to give him various cuts.
This also confirmed the theory about Morgan's flaw.
She looked shocked as she stepped back for a second. Using this opportunity, he wasted no time. A fist flew at her, crashing into her jaw.
This whole time he's been trying to fight with the styles he learned from others with shadow dance, he had almost forgotten his foundation for everything.
Outskirt style, aka hitting where it hurts and fighting dirty.
They say love is war right? This must be what they mean. While she staggered back, he rushed forward, hooking his leg around her neck before bringing his left knee up and crashing it into her face. It was quite the awkward position as his groin was in her face as he wrapped his legs around her head. But he paid it no mind, throwing his body weight down and throwing his legs up, throwing her back.
Her nose was bleeding, so now they were even for that. Before she could defend, he used the blood from one of the cuts on his body and threw it at her eyes.
The next second, a blow landed right into her gut, knocking the breath out of her. He almost felt bad, but he needed to do this in order to get his point across. Of course, he wasn't just mad about her trying to take out his balls or anything.
Surprisingly, she adjusted quickly, leaning her upper body down before charging at him like a rhino, whatever that was. Her head drilled into his stomach as she grabbed him by his shirt, and just like he did to her, throwing him back. Only this time she didn't let him fly back, but rather as soon as he got airborne, used her grip on his shirt to slam him into the ground.
His head was spinning from the impact. He felt a weight on his body as Morgan straddled him, sending fist after fist down at him.
"You're so frustrating, you know that right! What would have happened if you failed huh?!"
He grabbed her wrists once more, just like when they were on the couch, his bloody face looking up at her bloodier face.
"Haven't you heard people lose common sense when it comes to someone they love huh?!"
She glared down at him before shouting down at his face.
"Dont give me that--! Wait what?"
It was as if the world had stopped. He had to answer the question truthfully due to his flaw, and he had no reason to water down the truth. What was the point in delaying the inevitable when the situation arose just in front of him.
"Say it again."
...
"Haven't you heard-"
She sent another fist onto his face, only this time before it reached it, it released instead turning into a hand that wiped the blood from his lips.
"When it comes to someone they love?"
He couldn't see whatever expression she was making. Her head was down and her breathing was growing heavy.
"Do you-"
"I love you Morgan."
He looked at her with utmost seriousness. The rubbing on his lips stopped before he felt the body weight shift on him as she leaned down.
And their lips met for the second time in these approaching three months.
He could taste iron and salt mixed together. At the same time, it was their blood and sweat mixing. Yet despite the nasty taste, if he had a choice he would continue to taste it forever.
As their lips pulled apart, he was finally able to see Morgan's expression. It was something he never thought he would see on her. What he saw was tears.
"Say it again."
....
"I love you Morgan."
She stood up, getting up from him before looking down. He took in every detail of her. The way her hair stuck to her face due to the sweat, the way blood was smeared over the lower half of her face due to their kiss smooshing their faces together, even the slightly hazy look in her eyes.
His condition was most likely similar. They probably needed to shower. Sadly, it seems that wouldn't be happening for a while. As the next thing he heard was the rustling of clothes before a small thud hit the cold metal floors. He didn't need to look up in order to know what was about to happen.
He let the shadows wrap around his body once more and concentrated blood weave completely on his lower half.
It was going to be a long night after all.
As the sounds of flesh slapping on flesh echoed throughout the training room once more.
