The both of you waking up as heat emanates from the cave as a sauna-like atmosphere fills the stuffy crystal cove. The moon rocks you lay upon drip with condensation as your heavy eye lids flutter open.
You still have your shirt on as you sit up blocking the beams of light bouncing off of each crystal from your eyes. Lily grabs you by the collar and pulls you back down as she has your jacket wrapped around her.
She looks over one eyebrow raised as she says "you do know that I don't do that for just anyone right?"
You lean against her, kissing her forehead as you say "as long as your mine that's all that matters" Lily begins moving her nail along your ear, itching it as she has her arm wrapped behind your head.
You can feel her breath on your other ear as she says in a sweet soul tantalizing voice "yeah but your special, nevermind you wouldnt understand"
She pinches your ear with her nails as she bites your cheek. You reciprocate in kind gently biting her neck as you make your way on top of her once again. Lily kisses your lips as she exclaims "wait, we need to get back to town, i forgot to tell my family that i was gonna be out for the night"
Both of you begin fumbling for your clothes and make your way out of the entrance of the cave. A place that felt healing for oneself.
Quickly both of you make your way to the car, driving off from your one night of vacation.
The town begins making its way into view as your love's anxiety builds. You question why "you seem to be in a rush? Afraid you might get caught with someone you're not supposed to be with?" A smile grows on your face as you look over to hers. She replies answering "no its just that, well my grandma is sick and im the only one who can take care of her"
A feeling of remorse and deep sentiment begins to build in your heart as all you can say being "its going to be okay, i know that you feel scared and anxious but worrying wont solve anything. First we need to get to her"
Cars begin to pass you by as you enter the town. She noticeably is worried and yet all you can do is place your hand on her thigh smiling softly at her as she looks over to you. Eyes softening only slightly as anxiety continues to fill her mind.
The car finally rolls to an immediate stop in front of a house. With speed and precision she quickly opens the door to her car running inside the house. You open your car door in speedy succession as you follow along her path. You enter her home where you see her rummaging through the cabinet grabbing a bottle of prescription pills.
You survey the environment and ask "is there anything I can assist with?"
She expresses quickly "yeah can you bring my grandma into the living room, sit her down on the couch she the first door down the hall"
You follow her orders quickly rushing to the door, opening it as quietly as possible while still maintaining speed.
An older lady lays upon a bed, a breathing machine hooked up to her mouth. You make your way closer as you say "excuse me, I know you may not remember me but it's kane, your granddaughter asked me to bring you to the living room. She looks over to you taking off her breathing mask as she says "its you, Lily talks about you all the time" taking a deep breath once again she speaks "im so glad shes finally able to enjoy her life instead of spending it taking care of me" Lily's grandma moves slowly out of bed as you take her by the arm assisting her out of her bedroom into the living room where Lily is smiling softly a sigh of relief being released from her chest. You sit her grandmother down on the couch as lily rushes over, bringing the pills and a glass of water to her grandmother.
As Lily's heart begins to settle she says "thank you, you know i really appreciate it"
You look over to her, smiling softly replying "is it not an honor to help the ones you love?"
She giggles to herself as her grandmother chimes in "you know i aint dying any time soon right? Why dont you two go enjoy your day, im sure ill be fine, dear"
Lily replies in a concerned tone "I just got here though? Im worried about you"
Her grandma in a stern voice begins to say "dont waste your time worrying over me, us older folk are stubborn ill be fine. Now go, get me some ice cream, vanilla was it?" Her grandma says as she slaps Kane on the back.
Lily grabs your hand guiding you out, before leaving she closes the door behind Kane and speaks to her grandma in private.
Moments later Lily steps out herself.
As the both of you get into her car, settling back into seats you comment "I didn't know your grandma liked ice cream?" As a smile creeps across your face.
She gently grabs your arm bringing it closer to her. Quickly beginning to bite your arm she gnaws at you. You begin screaming fakely as you can't help but begin to giggle.
The car shakes as the two of you begin wrestling, biting at each other, grabbing and pulling closer. You take her arms holding her still as the car finally stops shaking. As you lean in to kiss her she looks past you and yells "grandma?"
You turn around to see her grandmother staring at you two sweetly through the window. She begins to wave as lily grows increasingly red.
You take the opportunity to begin rapidly kissing her cheek watching her grow evermore flush with blush after each peck on the cheek. Lily at her wits end headbutts you and starts her car as her grandmother begins to laugh hardily.
The car quickly exits the premises as your forehead aches. You sit still knowing that if you test her, she may just flip the car. You wait for what she's gonna say next. Anticipation fills your every thought as you wait for her answer.
You arrive down by the pier as she parks the car. She slowly turns her head to you. And as she looks at you, you feel a cold sweat run down your back dampening your clothes slightly as you begin to anxiously prepare for what she's about to do.
She simply leans in closing the distance. You feel like something's coming as you continue to ready yourself. She kisses you softly on your lips and as she pulls away she pauses and says "thank you for being there for me, i really do appreciate it"
You calm down and proudly say "I said I would, and I meant every word. Every single one"
She replies "oh really? What was the color of my nails when we first met?"
In quick succession you say "white just like your hair. You looked as if god had allowed an angel to walk the planet in human form"
Lily pushes your face away as she begins to laugh. She responds "shut up dummy"
You lean in pulling her closer by her waist and cheek, leaning closer to her ear you say "i remember you didnt have s favorite icecream, i remember you would sing to me, i remember how even when its foggy you still love the sunset, i remember you still loved me even after knowing the kind of man i am, the kind of man i was"
She grips your face and gently yet passionately presses her lips upon yours.
Taking her nails she scratches your cheek causing you to wince slightly, opening your eyes to see her leaning back in her car smiling while staring at you. Lily begins pushing your shoulder while telling you "lets go i need to show you something"
You have a questioning look on your face as you reply "more surprises? Don't you ever get tired of making my day?"
She smiles as she opens her own door. A quick witted retort springs forth "never"
She gets out, closing her door as you follow along in kind. She leads you along to the pier where there's a dewy fog that breathes a chilly atmosphere through the wooden structure. Giving moisture to the environment creating a home for species to thrive.
Lily guides you down beneath the pier, passing by signs and a chain crossing. Too busy to read you both climb down a steep slope of sand to a hidden area not usually visited by others due to its lack of appeal. Lily sits upon a piece of driftwood that crawled its way upon land trying to return home to the forest. Nature sprouts from beneath the pier as moss and insects climb their way to and through minding their own business as they care not for the chatter of youthful adults but for their own food and shelter.
Lily beckons you to sit next to her as you were already beginning to do so. A breeze picks up as you wrap your jacket around Lily once again, doing your best to shield any of the cold air pushing at your side.
Water pours upon itself and the sand repeatedly as the waves crash, foaming
along the shore.
The two of you sit in silence for a while. She puts her head on your shoulder as you play with her hair. She takes a hold of your outer hip as you kiss her ever so gently on her forehead.
It's loud from the waves yet it creates an almost white noise like effect giving silence to your hearts.
Time passes by as the sun shines gleefully upon the town. The night air is too harsh to stay and the tide builds as if trying to reach you and drag you in.
The soles of your feet wet from the lurking tide. You climb your way up the mountain of sand that leads out of this peaceful while hidden area. You both make your way out as you take her hand pulling her up and out of the underbed.
The haze of fog hangs heavily, covering up the sky and yet, the sun still peeks through.
As if to burn passionately one last time.
You take the opportunity to grab her hand, leading her to the pier's entrance and then further down, all the way to the end.
She questions as you make your way "so where are you taking me?"
You retort "its my turn to surprise you"
As you reach your destination at the end of the pier you take her hand and place the other in the small of her back. She answers "ooh, you know how to dance?"
In a reminiscent voice you answer "my mother taught me"
Lily places her hand along your back and as you both ready yourselves. You begin to slowly take a step back, guiding her along in an almost routine manner. She follows in your steps as you continue to step once again creating a box with your feet. As you begin to rotate she follows along in quick pursuit to your rhythm. Then once again you step back and turn, and again you step back and turn. This time you slowly take your hands and lift them, twirling her, her hair floats gracefully in the wind as she spins.
You spin her into your arms where you hold her firmly pressed upon her. Once again you take a step back and turn as she follows as if to copy your movements.
Once again you step back and turn once more but as you turn, you release her from your clutches. She spins out once again as you begin to meet in the middle, ending up where you began.
The sun has set the stars that can only be dreamed of, and the moon creates an orb in the fog, filling it with its passionate light.
The moon's sight is blocked yet its presence is known. Lights guiding your path down the pier foggily show the both of you a way back to the place of beginnings. And shine all the way to where you are, the end. In the corner of your eye you notice a bioluminescent light begins to wash along the shore. You and Lily make your way to the edge, looking out to see a beautiful thundering crash of teal colored plankton. You can't believe your eyes as you've never seen this phenomenon before, it is majestic. But more so than that, the light only accentuates your lover's beauty.
As the color of your environment wash over your faces you can't help but pause, starstruck.
But more so her voice like that of a silky musical concerto begins to play as she speaks "they're plankton"
Impressed by her intelligence you question "and what did i do to deserve such a intelligent woman"
She retorts in a playful tone "deserve? You need to continue to earn your spot alongside me"
You move yourself behind her, placing your hands atop of hers. Tenderly your body hugs hers as you sweetly whisper in her ear "god blessed the very ground you walk upon, so I shall prove worthy enough to kiss the tracks in which you leave, my love more than anything i will never betray your trust"
Roses are jealous of her tinted blushful cheeks as you kiss her neck, tasting only the sweetest of flowers.
