Despite Hola City being relatively small with around 10,000 citizens and less than 300 men in it, it still had all the things you'd expect from a modern city: everything from markets and malls to rich areas and slums.
But that's where the similarities end between this city and the cities from my past life. And that's not just because the entirety of the city is filled with women. No—it's because everything from the governmental style to the economy is completely different.
In my old world, greed was the dominating sin, with the entire world revolving around money. But here, lust is the dominant one, with the entire world revolving around men.
In the end, men are stronger, smarter, better-looking, and more talented in magic than any woman will ever be. And unlike my old world where it was up for debate, here it's more than just an objective truth—it's a fact of reality.
A singular man is more effective than the efforts of a hundred women combined. That's why at the top of all institutions in this world, men are the ones in control.
And the same goes for the Hola Police Station. It's controlled by the chief of police, a man called Jack. Honestly, I was a little disappointed to find that out. I was hoping to find a beautiful female chief who was going to fall in love with me immediately. What I was going to get instead was this Jack.
"Ohh… I just hope he won't be a thorn in my plans for this city."
Han was standing in front of the police building.
"It was annoying reaching this place without any money. If the cosmos thought my money was useless, then why did he take it anyway?"
Han was getting stares from beautiful ladies on the street, but none dared approach him.
They were treating him as if he was a famous and handsome young master from one of those murim novels. But he didn't give them any attention. Instead, he steadily walked inside the police station.
When he entered the reception area, a beautiful girl in a blue police outfit stood up to welcome him.
The police outfits in this world—or at least in this city—were not very different from those of his old world, except for two things: instead of wearing long pants, they wore short skirts that revealed their black fishnet tights, and their shirts had a long V-neck showing the tops of their chests.
The beautiful girl bowed to Han and said,
"Mr. Han, thank you for visiting us. Master Jack has been waiting for your arrival."
As soon as she said that, she opened the door and started leading the way.
"Please follow me, Mr. Mayor."
Han followed her into the inner part of the police station. There were a lot of girls working, but as soon as they saw him, they stopped and bowed.
Han kept following the girl until they reached a door labeled "The Chief's Office." The girl knocked on the door and said,
"Sir, the mayor has arrived."
Then a manly, booming voice came from inside the room.
"Let him in."
The girl looked at me and stood at the side of the door.
'Well, here goes nothing.'
Han slowly opened the door and entered the room. As soon as he entered, he was surprised by the elegant design—unlike the rest of the police station, this room had a Victorian look to it.
But Han couldn't be impressed with the looks of the room for too long because of the person sitting at the other side of the desk. He was a muscular man over seven feet tall. His black skin shined with an authoritative aura.
"Ho ho! Let's see who we have here? You are our new shiny mayor, aren't you?"
Even though he said it with a very cheerful face, Han felt an oppressive aura coming out of him.
"Y-yes, sir."
As soon as Han gave him that answer, the man started laughing.
"Haw haw haw haw! Young mayor, there's no need to be afraid. I must say, I'm very surprised when I got the mail from you asking to give us a visit. Aren't you a hard worker?"
Han felt the aura around him that was suppressing him weaken, allowing him to speak normally.
"Well, sir, I'm just trying to be the best mayor I could be."
As soon as Jack heard Han's words, he started laughing again.
"Haw haw haw haw! Hard-working, you say? Well, I must say I'm very impressed. Young gentlemen like you don't normally go to such small cities, and if they do, they normally hate to work. So tell me, why did you come here?"
"Aaa… well, I… I didn't want to get a lot of work. I thought a small city with good weather would be perfect. I never expected to become the mayor of the city."
After hearing his answer, the old man gave Han a suspicious look.
"You say you wanted a small city to relax, yet here you are working hard. Don't you think there's a bit of a contradiction?"
Han felt a little sweat forming at the back of his head. He'd only talked with the chief of police for a few moments, yet he already felt like he was cornered.
But before Han could come up with an excuse, Jack continued talking.
"Well, it doesn't really matter. I would love if you could have replaced me, but that bastard rigged everything so that he could leave the city and continue his studying."
Han found that this was a chance for him to start talking about their meeting objectives.
"Well, sir Jack, I am here because I wanted to ask you a few questions about how everything's going around here."
"Well, to be honest, nothing very exciting. Everything is peaceful—other than the lesbian gang."
"Lesbian gang?"
The chief of police looked a little surprised at Han's question.
"What? You don't know them?"
Han shook his head and said no.
"Well, over the last 20 years, some group of reformers started going on about how they don't need any man. At first, nobody gave them any attention because under the new laws, these girls had the right to do what they wanted."
The police chief leaned back on his chair and took a sip of his coffee.
"But everything changed after they decided to force other women to lose their virginities artificially—making them unable to get bound to any man, AKA what we call {defiled}."
He took another sip of coffee.
"Originally, we thought that removing the gand would be easy, but for some reason, they started appearing everywhere—completely disrupting the peaceful system we've used for hundreds of years. And in the last few years, they even started trying to assassinate some men. It's not even a coordinated effort—just seeking chaos."
'Could it be because of the souls that entered into this world, disrupting it?'
