Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Bodyguards

As soon as Han finished checking the book, he closed it and returned it to its place. Then, with confident steps, he got out of the records room and went straight to the chief's room once again.

As soon as he reached the front of the door, he lifted his hand to knock on it. But then a stupid idea crossed his mind. And instead of knocking, he opened the door unannounced.

As soon as he opened the door, the chief of police was already looking in his direction. It seemed as if the chief of police had sensed Han's presence before he entered the room.

He looked at the chief, who had a look of annoyance from Han's sudden entering.

"What do you want? Weren't you going to check the records!"

Despite Han clearly noticing the annoyance in the chief's voice, he completely ignored it. Instead, he made his tone even more dramatic—putting one hand on his head and the other supporting his body on the door.

"Oh yes, I read those horrible records."

He said it in the voice of a Victorian lady.

"Oh, this poor, poor man. How could that lesbian gang attempt to kill those more innocent men who did absolutely nothing wrong?"

The chief's look of annoyance became mixed with an understandable amount of confusion.

"What are you saying, kid?"

But despite the chief's confusion, Han didn't stop. Instead, he walked toward the desk of the chief and laid on it as if he was an injured animal.

"Oh, how could I sleep at night knowing that these ladies might be coming for me at any moment? I am too young to die."

"What are you talking about? They never succeeded in any of the attempts."

Han moved from one side of the desk to the other, still acting as if he was an injured animal, dramatically throwing everything onto the floor.

"Hey, what? These are my stuff!"

"Ohhhhh ohhhh, the humanity! I could feel those wicked girls planning an attempt on my life right now—any moment they might come for me."

The chief's confusion started turning into anger from the nonsense that Han was spouting.

"Kid, have you completely lost your mind? Nobody's coming after you."

Han looked into the eyes of the chief.

"But what if they?"

The chief was about to completely lose his temper.

"Think of it for half a second, you fucking idiot! Why would anyone want to kill you? You literally did nothing."

Han stopped his idiotic ramblings for half a second and looked deep into the eyes of the chief.

For less than three seconds, the room became silent—to the point that the voice of the gears of the clock on the wall could be heard.

But immediately after, Han continued with his rambles.

"Ohhh ohhh, the humanity!"

"I'm gonna kill you, you little shit!"

The police chief finally snapped from Han's idiocy.

The police chief sent a lightning-fast punch directly into the middle of Han's face, but in the last second before the chief's hand made contact with Han's face, Han managed to dodge the attack.

Han jumped away from the desk, putting both of his hands in front of his face. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry—don't get angry!"

"You little bastard! If you don't want me to kill you, tell me what you want or get the fuck out of here!"

The police chief was snapping his fingers, preparing to give another punch in the face.

Han went back to his normal self and fixed his clothes to look presentable once again. "I have a small request for you. I wish to have a bodyguar…"

As soon as the words came out of his mouth, he saw a black fist flying toward him at an unimaginable speed.

"Small request, my ass! Do you little bastard know how much a male bodyguard costs?"

The police chief threw another punch at Han, who managed to dodge it once again.

"Ha, no no—that's not what I want."

"The lesbian gang won't need to kill you—I will do their job for them."

It seemed that because of Han's shenanigans, the police chief had gotten the wrong idea. Han didn't want a male bodyguard—he wanted two cute girls.

"Chief, you misunderstood me. I don't want a…"

But even though Han wanted to clarify the mistake, the police chief's relentless attacks didn't allow him.

The chief was attacking relentlessly, but Han managed to dodge every attack by a hair. And that was only because the chief wasn't using even 1% of his power—which proves that the chief still had his rationality.

"Please listen to me—you misunderstood me."

The police chief stopped trying to punch him and tried to regain composure.

"So tell me, what do you mean?"

He asked, ready to punch Han at any moment.

"I don't mean a male bodyguard. I want two of your detectives to be my bodyguards."

The chief looked at him with confusion.

"And how would two female bodyguards keep you safe?"

The police chief asked. His annoyance turned into confusion—which makes sense, since men in this world are stronger than females. Most men would be able to tank bullets from normal guns, even without training.

"It doesn't matter. I just want two police officers to be my bodyguards."

The police chief seemed to have given up on understanding the motives behind anything that Han does.

"Alright, kid. By tomorrow morning, two of my best officers will be relocated to live in your mansion."

Han was relieved to hear that, but he didn't want any two random officers.

"Actually, chief, I have two already in mind?"

The police chief gave him a questioning look.

"And who may they be?"

Han straightened his posture and said with a confident voice.

"Ino and Sakura, sir!"

The police looked at Han with wide-open eyes. He seemed to be completely surprised by Han's choice.

"Haw haw haw! Why didn't you say that from the start? I'd love to give them to you. In fact, I am ready to make them permanently under your jurisdiction."

Han was pleasantly surprised by the chief's answer, but he was also a little worried because of his reaction.

"Haw haw haw!"
