Chapter 28 - The Serpent Prince’s Forbidden Love

The ruined palace of the serpent world was now silent, but this silence was not of peace but of a new beginning. The palace roof had disappeared and the serpent world moon from the sky was scattering its blue light on the crown on Elena's head.

Elena held Seraph's hand tightly. Although her eyes now held the glory of the queen, her 16-year-old heart still beat for the human world she had left behind.

"Seraph..." Elena whispered. "Everything has changed. Will I ever be able to see my parents again? Am I now forever imprisoned in this magical world?"

Seraph, whose eyes had now returned to their old golden glow, looked closely at Elena's face. He knew that Elena was no longer fully human after sitting on the dragon throne. The magical power of the ancient serpents was now flowing in her blood.

"Queen," Seraph's father (the ancient king) stepped forward and bowed in greeting, "you have granted us the freedom we have dreamed of. But remember, even after the Golden Serpent's downfall, there are still some of his loyalists hiding who could prey on your human weakness." On the other hand, several hours had passed since Elena disappeared from the human world. Her parents were searching for her like crazy. The police and the locals were shocked that a girl had left college and suddenly disappeared into thin air. Elena's mother was in a bad mood.

"My heart tells me she is in some big trouble," her mother cried out. Little did they know that her 16-year-old daughter had become the ruler of another world at that time. In the depths of the Serpent World, where the black magic of the Golden Serpent still lingered in the air, a black smoke appeared. It was not Zarun, but a secret disciple of the Golden Serpent named 'Zhahak'. He was looking at Elena through a magic mirror.

"You have killed my mentor, Elena," Zahak's voice was like the hiss of a snake. "You have gained the throne, but how will you save your humanity? If I destroy your human parents, your luminous magic will automatically turn into black fire."

Zahak put on his magical cloak and headed towards a secret passage leading to the human world. His goal was to kidnap Elena's parents so that he could force Elena to give up the throne. n the palace, Elena suddenly felt a strange panic in her heart. She felt as if someone was hovering near her home.

"Seraph! I have to go to the human world now," Elena said anxiously. "My parents are in danger."

The generals warned, "Queen! You have just sat on the throne. Your magic has not yet matured. If you go to the human world at this time, your power will be reduced to half."

But Elena took off the crown and placed it on the throne. "If I can't save my parents with the power of being a queen, then I don't want this throne."

The seraph raised his sword, smiling at Elena's courage. "I will go with you, Queen. Whether it is the human world or hell, the seraph will be your shadow." Elena opened a golden portal in the air with her magic. As soon as Seraph and Elena stepped into the portal, the cold air of the serpent world disappeared and the warm and familiar scent of the human world hit their nostrils.

They appeared in the back garden of Elena's house. It was nighttime and the lights of the house were on. But a strange black fog was shrouding the garden.

"He's here," Seraph sensed with his sense of smell and followed Elena. "That black magician Zahak has arrived here."

Suddenly, Elena's mother screamed from inside the house. Elena's blood froze and she ran towards the house without thinking. As Elena entered the room, she saw her parents lying unconscious on the floor, black snakes circling around them. In the corner of the room stood Zahak, his eyes burning like red embers.

"Welcome, Queen of the Snake People," Zahak laughed sarcastically. "Now hand over your power to me, or the blood of your parents will be on your own hands."

The same golden glory rose in Elena's eyes again, but this time it was filled with anger as well as fear of losing her parents. After Zahak's attack, Seraph and Elena together defeated him, but Elena realised that her parents' lives would always be in danger because of him. Seraph used his magic to erase the terrifying moments of that night from Elena's parents' memories, but a burden remained on Elena's heart.

Elena was now 17 years old. In that one year, she had not only assumed her power as the queen of the serpent world, but her beauty and personality had matured to a great extent. She was no longer the little girl who would be frightened at every word, but now her golden eyes reflected wisdom and immense love for the seraphs.

In the royal garden of the newly built palace of Nag Lok, where magical light emanated from the flowers at night, Elena stood alone, looking up at the sky. Today was her 17th birthday, but she was celebrating it in her new kingdom rather than in the human world.

Suddenly, she felt someone behind her. A familiar scent filled the air. It was the seraph.

The seraph slowly approached Elena. He was now dressed in royal robes with gold embroidery. He placed his hand on Elena's shoulders from behind. A thrill ran through Elena's body.

"17 years… now you are completely my queen," the seraph whispered close to Elena's ear. His voice carried the same old sweetness that had held Elena captive since childhood.

Elena turned and looked into the seraph's eyes. "Seraph, do you remember? When I was little, I kept you in a glass jar. I had no idea that my little golden snake would one day steal my heart."

Seraph smiled and took Elena's hand and placed it on his heart. "And I had no idea that the little girl in whose palm I slept would one day become my entire universe."

The moonlight was falling on the two of them. Seraph tucked a strand of Elena's messy hair behind her ear and gently kissed her forehead. It was a touch that held respect, protection, and immense love. Elena rested her head on Seraph's chest, where she could hear his heartbeat—a beat that was only for Elena.

"Seraph, will we always be like this?" Elena asked in a low voice.

"As long as this universe exists, and as long as the last star of the Seraph is safe, I will be yours," the seraph vowed. He placed a small golden ring on Elena's finger with the mark of a dragon on it—not just a ring, but a sign of their eternal bond. Although these moments were beautiful, Elena knew she had a big decision to make. At 17, she was at a point in her life where she had to balance her unfinished relationships in the human world with her responsibilities as a naga.

"Seraph, I want my parents to know the truth," Elena said seriously. "I don't want to live as a queen in hiding from them."

Seraph praised her courage. "I am with you in every decision you make, Elena. But remember, the price of the truth is sometimes very high."

Silence reigned in the royal garden of the palace, only the sound of the magic fountains filling the air with music. Seraf took Elena's hand and led her to a corner where the vines of roses hung like a natural swing. The milky light of the moon fell on Elena's golden crown and her radiant face, making her look like a dreamy fairy.

Seraf stopped and turned to Elena. His eyes were fixed on Elena's face. "Elena, ever since you turned 17, there has been such an attraction in your eyes that I want to forget about the throne and the crown and just look at you."

Elena blushed a little, a blush ran down her cheeks that was even more evident in the moonlight. "Seraf, you always say things that make my heart forget its own beats."

Seraf slowly spread his arms around Elena's waist and pulled her closer to him. Elena did not resist, but placed her hands on Seraf's broad shoulders. The distance between them was so small that they could feel each other's warm breath.

Seraf leaned down and rested her forehead on Elena's. "I lost my eyes, then found them, I saw death up close... But each time only your touch called me back. You are my life, Elena."

The heat of Seraf's tone created a storm inside Elena. She closed her eyes and pressed herself against Seraf's chest. Seraf hugged her tightly. It was a deep and long hug that didn't need words. Elena felt the world's peace in Seraf's strong arms.

After a while, Seraf held Elena's face in the cup of his hands. His thumbs were touching Elena's soft lips. Elena's breathing quickened and she looked into the Seraph's golden eyes, where there was only thirst and longing for her.

The Seraph slowly leaned down. Elena closed her eyelids, and the next moment the Seraph's lips met Elena's. It was their first Lip Kiss—a kiss that was both enchanting and deep. In that one moment, the entire universe seemed to stop. The cold air of the Naga world also became silent and time seemed to be frozen. This kiss included the Seraph's years of waiting and Elena's innocent love that had now become as young as a flame.

When they separated from each other, there was a strange glow on both of their faces. Elena's head was dizzy, but she was not happy. She rested her head on the Seraph's shoulder. "I never thought love could be so beautiful."

The seraph kissed her hair and said, "This is just the beginning, my queen. We still have a whole life to live together." The two of them were just now in this romantic trance when suddenly black smoke began to come out of an ancient statue in the corner of the garden. Elena immediately became alert and retreated after the seraph.

"What is this?" Elena asked, feeling her magical power.

The black smoke slowly began to take on a human form. It was a Shadow Messenger sent by 'Zhahak'. Its eyes were red as blood.

"These moments of love are short, prince," the shadow's voice was like the grinding of metal. "Your queen's parents' breaths in the human world are now numbered. If Elena does not hand over the magical 'Morning' (ancient diamond) of the throne to us before sunrise, they will never see the morning."

Hearing this, the ground gave way from under Elena's feet. The joy of her 17th birthday suddenly turned to sorrow. "My parents! Seraph, we have to go now!"

The seraph glared at the shadow and with a single roar dissolved it into thin air. "They are playing with our emotions, Elena. They know you are powerful now, so they are exploiting your greatest weakness: your parents."

Tears welled up in Elena's eyes, but this time she was not weak. She wiped her tears and looked down at her sword. "They have defied a daughter, now they will face the wrath of the Queen of the Snake People." Seraph held Elena's hand. "We will not go alone. The members and loyal soldiers are ready. Today, a war will take place in the human world that has never been written in history."

Elena looked at Seraph, her eyes now holding the same love that had kissed her a moment ago. The air in the garden was still warm from the first touch between them. Although Zahak's shadow had posed a terrifying threat, at that moment Seraph did not let Elena out of his arms. He tightened his grip on Elena's waist, as if he wanted to protect her from all the pain in this world.

"Seraph... we have to leave now... my parents..." Elena gasped, a strange conflict of fear and love in her voice.

Seraph lifted Elena's face again and looked into her eyes. "Elena, look at me. You are no longer just a 17-year-old girl, you are the queen of the serpent world. Fear is adorning your beauty. Zahak wants you to be frightened and lose the balance of your power."

Elena took a deep breath and surrendered herself to Seraph's strong presence. Seraph kissed Elena's cheeks very gently once more and then leaned down to her ear and whispered. "You trust me, right?"

Elena just nodded and put her arms around Seraph's neck and hugged him tightly once more. This time the hug was much deeper than before. Elena wanted to take in the scent of Seraph's body and the beating of his heart. Seraph also buried his face in Elena's hair, feeling her silky braids, he himself became unaware of the world and the mafia for a moment.

Seraph pulled Elena aside a little and looked into her eyes with a mixture of mischief and love and said, "Your lips taste like some magical honey. If it weren't for this war, I would never have let you leave this garden today."

Elena's face turned red with shame once again. She gently punched Seraph in the chest and smiled. "You're so stubborn, Seraph."

Seraph took her hand and kissed it. "Only for you." "Come on, Seraph, let's save our home."

The atmosphere had become serious now. The Seraph called out in his magical voice, and in response, the Warlord Arkan and a few loyal soldiers appeared there like shadows.

"Arkan! Prepare the portal to the human world," the Seraph ordered, his tone now carrying the same princely majesty. "Zhahak has targeted Elena's parents. We must descend there, not silently, but as a storm."

Elena took off her golden crown and placed it on a table in the garden. "Today I will not go as a queen, but as a daughter." She took her sword, 'Light of the Azdra', in her hand, which was now turning red like a burning coal due to Elena's anger.

Arkan struck the ground with her magic staff, causing a large blue crack in the ground—this was the path to the human world. As Elena and Seraf stepped out of the portal, they were on the street in front of Elena's house. But the scene was not what they had expected. The entire street was as silent as a cemetery, as if time had stopped. A black mist hung outside each house.

Elena ran towards the door of her house. Seraf was behind her, his sword already unsheathed. As soon as they stepped inside the house, they realized that they had entered not a house but a dark labyrinth. Zahak had transformed the interior of the house into a vast and terrifying cave with his black magic.

"Elena... save...!" Elena's mother's voice came from the distance.

"Mom!" Elena shouted and ran towards the darkness, but Seraf grabbed her hand.

"Stop Elena! It's a trap..." Seraf warned, but before he could finish his words, thousands of black hands emerged from the ground and grabbed Seraf's feet.

Zahak's laughter echoed through the darkness. "I have prepared a special gift for those who love. Elena, if you want to reach your parents, you must leave Seraph here alone, and Seraph... if you want to save Elena, you must sacrifice your sight (eyes) once again."

Elena looked at Seraph, tears welling in her eyes but her hand still firmly in Seraph's. "We will never leave each other, Zahak! No matter what the cost." Seraph shook off the black hands with his magical power and pulled Elena closer to him, placing one last kiss on her forehead. "Don't give up, Elena. Our love is stronger than this darkness."

At that moment, Zahak's black magic formed a wall between them. Elena on one side and Seraph on the other. They could no longer see each other, only hear each other's voices.
