The air of the frozen valley was now filled with a terrible mourning. The presence of the Golden Serpent in the sky had lowered the temperature of the entire valley so much that even magic was starting to freeze there. The seraph, whose eyes had become lightless, stood there, holding Elena's lifeless body to his chest.
The golden serpent slowly descended to the ground. The snow melted under his every step, turning into black poison. He looked at the seraph with contempt.
"Your ancestors made great sacrifices for this throne, Seraph." The golden serpent's voice was sweet as honey but sharp as poison. "But look! Today you are going to end your race for a 16-year-old human girl."
The seraph tightened his grip on Elena. "Love does not end generations, it burns generations. You have found the throne, but not the heart." At that moment, a huge explosion occurred in the ancient prison of Nag Lok, where Seraf's parents were imprisoned. The mysterious stranger, who had cut the chains of Seraf's parents, had now returned to his true form. He was none other than Seraf's father's younger brother and the exiled warlord of Nag Lok, 'Arkan'.
"Brother! Sister-in-law! Hurry up," Arkan shouted, slashing the guards with his sword. "Seraph is in the frozen valley and the golden serpent has arrived to finish him off. If we don't get there today, Nag Lok will be plunged into darkness forever."
Seraf's mother, whose eyes were filled with love, instantly transformed into her serpent form. "My son is not alone. Today, mothers will fight for their sons!"
Thousands of loyal snakes, fed up with the cruelty of the golden serpent, broke through the prison walls and burst out. War broke out in the streets of Nag Lok.
The golden serpent raised its staff to deliver a final blow to the seraph. "Finish!" A terrifying golden lightning shot from its staff.
The seraph closed its eyes, but the blow did not reach the seraph. Suddenly, a wall of fire and light stood in front of the seraph.
Elena's eyes in the seraph's arms were now open, but they did not have any normal human glow. Such energy was emanating from her 16-year-old existence that even the golden serpent recoiled in surprise. The golden marks on Elena's body had now taken the form of a glowing dragon.
"How did you... touch... him?" Elena's voice had an echo as if hundreds of souls were speaking at once.
Elena held the seraph's hand. As soon as Elena's hand fell into the seraph's hand, the seraph felt that he was 'showing' her. He was seeing the world not with his own eyes, but with Elena's. It was a 'soul meeting'.
"Seraph! We are one now," Elena whispered.
Elena and Seraph held the 'Light of the Dragon' sword together. On one side was the centuries-old black magic of the Golden Serpent, and on the other was the union of two true souls.
When they waved the sword in the air, all the ice in the frozen valley melted and turned into a great water dragon that began to break through the magical barrier of the Golden Serpent.
Zarun, who was about to emerge from the rubble and attack again, shuddered at the sight. "This... this is impossible! How can a 16-year-old girl control the 'Blood of the Dragon' like this?" The battle was still going on when thousands of loyal soldiers from the sky and Seraph's parents arrived. When the golden serpent saw that she was surrounded, she let out a terrible laugh.
"You have won, it seems?" She looked at Seraph and Elena. "But remember, Elena's 16-year-old body will not be able to withstand this magic for long. If she does not sit on the throne of the Seraph Loki now, her human heart will burst."
Elena's body was rapidly turning blue from exhaustion. Seraph now had two options: either save his kingdom or take Elena back to the human world to save her life, where her magic would end but she would not die. Hearing the golden serpent's words, the seraph's heart sank. He looked at Elena, whose face was now turning pale and his grip on the seraph's hand was loosening. The 16-year-old Elena, who had carried a magical burden beyond her means for the seraph, was now at the end of her tether.
"Elena! Look at me," the seraph called out to him in anguish. Although the seraph himself was blind, he could feel the heat inside Elena fading away due to his connection to Elena's soul.
The golden serpent laughed as he hung in midair. "Princess! The choice is yours. If you don't place her on the 'Throne of the Dragon' now, this girl will turn to ashes. But remember, to sit on the throne, you must first kill me, which you probably don't have time for now!"
Seraph's parents and the generals, Arkan, with their army, attacked the soldiers of the Golden Serpent. The frozen valley had now become a great battlefield, with the sound of swords clashing and magical explosions everywhere. Arkan shouted: "Seraph! You take Elena and run to the palace! We will block their path here!"
Seraph picked Elena up in his arms and tried to run towards the palace, but the wounded Zaron once again blocked their path. His face had become half snake and half human, which was extremely terrifying to see.
"You can't take him anywhere!" Zaron attacked Seraph with his poisonous dagger. Seraph used his hearing (sense of hearing) despite being blind and blocked the dagger's blow with his shield, but his attention was on Elena, who was gasping for breath.
Elena whispered in Seraph's ear, her voice so faint that Seraph had to bend his head to hear her. "Seraph... leave me... you save your throne..."
"Never!" Tears like blood fell from Seraph's eyes. "The throne is a pile of stones without you, Elena!"
Seraph gathered the last of his magical power and stuck the 'Light of the Dragon' sword into the ground. A powerful earthquake struck, sending Zarun flying. The seraph seized the opportunity and, carrying Elena, sped towards the palace at magical speed.
When the seraph reached the main hall of the palace, the walls were blackened by the black magic of the golden serpent. In front of him was the magnificent throne that symbolised the ancient glory of the serpents.
As the seraph approached the throne, the protective snakes surrounding the throne spread their wings. They would not allow anyone who did not have 'pure serpent blood' to approach the throne. Elena was a human, and her body could be burned by the rays of the throne.
"Make way for me!" the seraph roared. "This is your queen!"
A blue light came out of the throne that pushed the seraph back, but the seraph did not give up. He cut his hand and sprinkled his 'royal blood' on the throne. "I, the heir of the serpent people, entrust my right to this girl! Her life is my life!"
The light on the throne slowly began to turn golden. The seraph carefully placed Elena on the throne. As soon as 16-year-old Elena's body touched the throne, the towers of the entire serpent world began to shake. The black smoke (which was the poison of the golden serpent) emanating from Elena's body began to wash away with the light of the throne.
Elena took a deep breath and her eyes suddenly opened. There was no longer that innocence in those eyes, but a power that seemed centuries old. The roots that grew from the throne began to grow into Elena's body, to make her a part of this world.
But from outside, the scream of the golden serpent was heard. It was tearing through the roof of the palace and entering. "You put her on the throne, Seraph, but now she will not be human! She will become a queen you will never be able to touch!"
Seraph looked at Elena, whose human form was now slowly changing. Small golden scales were emerging behind her ears.
Will Elena lose her humanity? Will Seraph be able to accept a queen who might now refuse to even recognise him?
The main hall of the palace was surrounded by a storm of lights. Elena, who was only 16 years old, trembled under the pressure of the ancient power of the Dragon Throne. Magical waves wrapped around her body like a golden dragon, separating her from humanity and transforming her into an immortal queen.
Seraph, who, despite being blind, felt this transformation with his soul, fell near the throne. He reached out his hand to touch Elena, but the protective wall of the throne pushed him back.
"Elena! Don't leave me!" There was such a yearning in the Seraph's voice that even the stones of the palace trembled. "Hold on to your human memories! You are the Elena who held me in the palm of your hand as a golden snake!"
A movie of scenes was playing behind Elena's closed eyes. She remembered her parents' house, that college street, and those small moments of her human life. But the magic of the throne was clearing his mind, convincing him that he was not a human but the saviour of the serpent people. At that moment, the golden serpent entered through the broken part of the palace. His face was distorted with anger. "This throne is mine! No 16-year-old human girl can take it from me!"
He held his staff in both hands and threw a black magic ball towards the throne. This ball was not to destroy the throne, but to target Elena's human heart that was still beating.
"If she becomes queen, then a queen with only hatred inside!" the golden serpent shouted.
The seraph had felt it. Without caring about his eyes, he gathered all his magical power into a shield and faced the black blow. The blow was so powerful that the seraph received a deep wound in his chest and fell at Elena's feet to the throne. His blood dripped from the base of the throne and reached Elena's feet.
As soon as the blood of the seraph touched Elena's feet, a miracle happened. The clash between humanity and magic in Elena's soul ended. The seraph's true love and her blood gave the magic of the throne the 'heat' that was necessary to keep it connected to humanity.
Elena's eyes suddenly opened. There was no longer fear in them, but a glory that was melting the black magic of the golden serpent. She waved her hand in the air and the seraph's sword 'Light of the Dragon' that was lying on the floor, automatically flew into her hand.
"You wounded my seraph..." Elena's voice was now thunderous, like lightning striking from the sky. "You ruined our lives, now your time is up!"
Elena rose from the throne. The earth of the serpent world was now shaking at the feet of the 16-year-old girl. She drew such a light from the sword that the golden serpent's eyes were blinded. Meanwhile, Zarron, who had remained loyal to the Golden Snake, showed his true nature when he saw that the dice had been turned. He tried to stab his mother (the Golden Snake) in the back so that he could seize the throne, but the Golden Snake noticed him and chained him to the wall with her magic.
"You are all traitors!" The Golden Snake began to laugh like a madman. "If not me, then no one!"
He began to destroy the main pillars of the palace so that the entire palace would become a pile of rubble and everyone would be buried under it.
The Seraph barely held Elena's wrist. "Elena... the palace is falling! You have to get out!"
Elena lifted the Seraph into her arms. She now had enough power within her to move mountains. She looked up at the palace roof and delivered a powerful blow, opening the way to the sky.
"We are not going anywhere, Seraph," Elena said resolutely. "Today the Seraph people must be cleansed of this sin."
Elena raised her other hand into the air, where the Seraph's parents and the Warlords were fighting the enemy. She created a golden halo that took all the faithful under its protection, while the falling debris of the palace surrounded the golden serpent and his black army.
The heavy pillars of the palace were falling like sand castles. Instead of admitting defeat, the Golden Serpent was screaming like a madman. She magically suspended the pieces of the palace's collapsing roof in the air and sent them towards Elena and Seraph in one final, terrifying attack.
"If I cannot sit on this throne, then his heir will not survive either!" She poured her entire life's worth of black magic into this one blow.
Elena, who was now the full heir to the throne of the Dragon, chased the Seraph behind her and planted the 'Light of the Dragon' sword in the ground. An ancient serpentine spell came out of her mouth. Suddenly, golden roots sprouted from the palace floor and formed an impenetrable shield around the Seraph and Elena. The Golden Serpent's black sword hit the shield and bounced back at her.
"No!!!" The golden serpent let out a final scream and crumbled to ashes, crushed by its own dark magic. With its death, the magical chains that had bound the souls of the serpent people for centuries were broken. In a corner of the rubble, Zarun lay wounded, his magic gone, and he was now crawling on the ground like a common snake. He looked at Elena, the same Elena he had thought of as a human and wanted to make a pawn.
"Elena... forgive me..." Zarun gasped. "I only wanted power."
Elena looked at Zarun with her golden eyes. In her eyes, there was no longer vengeance, but the justice of a queen. "Zarun, you stole the eyes of the seraph, you imprisoned innocent girls. Your punishment is not death, but anonymity."
Elena waved her hand, and all of Zarun's magical memories and human form disappeared. He turned into an ordinary black snake who now had to wander the forests, without any memory that he had ever been a prince.
The palace was silent now; only the distant sound of the approaching footsteps of Seraf's parents could be heard. Elena immediately turned to Seraf, who was still sitting on the ground, staring into space with his white eyes.
"Seraf... it's all over," Elena hugged him. Her tears fell down Seraf's cheeks.
Seraf felt Elena's face. "You won, Elena. My queen won."
Elena saw Seraf's wounds and then she remembered Baba Kohsar's words that love could defeat magic. Elena placed both palms on Seraf's eyes. She began to transfer all the purity of her 16 years of life and the magical energy of the throne into Seraf's eyes.
"My light is yours, Seraf. If I see this world without you, then this vision is of no use to me," Elena prayed fervently.
A bright golden light shone from Seraf's eyes. Seraph felt as if a thousand suns had lit up in his mind at once. Slowly, the whites of his eyes faded and the same old golden, deep glow returned.
Seraph blinked and looked ahead. The first thing he saw was Elena's innocent, glorious face. "Elena... I can see you!" At that moment, Seraf's parents, the generals, and loyal soldiers entered through the broken doors of the palace. They saw Seraf and Elena standing hand in hand amidst the rubble of destruction.
Seraf's father took off his crown and placed it at Seraf's feet, but Seraf picked it up and placed it on Elena's head.
"From today, Elena is the queen of Nag Lok," Seraf's voice echoed throughout the hall. "The one who didn't care about her 16 years of life, and brought this kingdom out of darkness."
Elena looked at everyone. She was still the same 16-year-old girl, but the crown on her head and Seraf's hand in her hand were telling her that her life would never be the same again. The dark chapter in Nag Lok's history had closed and a golden era was beginning.
