Chapter 79: The Rage Fruit
Boom!
The giant hand of the Ryuryu struck down on Hais, swatting him away like an insect.
But Hais quickly steadied himself midair, using Moonwalk to rise higher into the sky.
"What terrifying strength… that giant race!"
A trace of fear flashed through Hais's eyes.
He had originally thought this pirate crew's main strength lay in the sea beasts they commanded. Never did he expect there to be a giant among them—and such a powerful one at that.
That furious strike of his just now hadn't even managed to injure him.
To know—he was a Paramecia-type user of the Rage Fruit, capable of amplifying his power through anger. The flames that had surrounded his body moments ago were the very manifestation of his fury.
"I'll retreat for now."
That thought flashed through his mind in an instant. He turned sharply and propelled himself upward with rapid bursts of Moonwalk.
"Trying to run? Hmph!"
Jiang Qize gave a cold snort.
"Rooar!"
From the sea, the Mosasaur let out a thunderous roar and burst forth in a flash of gray light. Its massive jaws opened wide, rows of gleaming teeth reflecting the sunlight as it lunged straight at Hais.
"Damn it!"
Hais roared in anger, his fury pushing his strength even higher. His feet pounded against the air, accelerating him forward at incredible speed.
Bang!
The Mosasaur's bite snapped shut on empty air—just a moment too late.
Ryuryu shook his head, still dizzy from the impact of Hais's earlier kick.
"Back-opening Wing Flower!"
A childish voice rang out.
Robin floated slowly into the air, her small hands crossed before her chest as she whispered four words.
Buzz—
Wings of flesh suddenly sprouted from Hais's back midflight, throwing off his balance and creating massive drag.
He stumbled, almost plummeting from the sky.
Clang!!
A sword slash came flying at him from behind.
Without looking back, Hais twisted around, grabbed the wings sprouting from his back, and tore them off violently.
"Pff!"
The wings disintegrated instantly, scattering into petals that fluttered away.
He spun again—
"Pff!"
—but not fast enough. The slash caught his left hand, slicing it clean off. Blood sprayed into the air.
Yet his eyes blazed red with rage. Gritting his teeth, he stomped through the air repeatedly, fleeing at full speed.
Before long, he was nothing but a shrinking black speck in the distance.
"As expected of a Marine powerhouse… such willpower." Jiang Qize said calmly, his expression indifferent as he watched the fading figure.
The man had escaped—but it didn't matter. He had left behind one of his hands.
In the air, little Robin slowly descended. Her face had gone pale again.
"Sir…" Ryuryu scratched his head awkwardly.
"Fix the ship later," Jiang Qize said flatly.
"Yes, sir." Ryuryu exhaled in relief.
Off to the side, Ba Wang watched with a faint smile, a book still in his hands.

Marine Headquarters.
Fleet Admiral's Office.
"Look at this!"
Fleet Admiral Kong slammed a file down in front of Sengoku, Zephyr, and Garp.
The three men picked it up and began to read.
"This brat…" Garp's expression turned grim.
"I've seen him before…"
"You have?" Kong's gaze sharpened.
"Yeah. I ran into him during a trip back to the East Blue. I even invited him to join the Marines, but he refused. Wasn't he a bounty hunter back then…?" Garp said in a low tone.
He had spent most of his recent time at his home in the East Blue, rarely paying attention to the wider seas. Low-bounty pirates didn't concern him much.
But to think that the kid he'd once met had now become a pirate worth over a hundred million—
and that he'd managed to sever the arm of a Marine Rear Admiral, nearly keeping him there for good.
That level of power… even most Vice Admirals couldn't do that. Yet the boy had done it—
and in less than a month.
Such growth speed…
"In Loguetown, he killed a noble," Kong said darkly.
