Chapter 78: Marine Hais
Before long, the Dragon Flame Pirates' ship was less than a hundred meters from the navy vessels.
"Fire!"
With a commanding wave from the officer on the warship, four cannons thundered in unison.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
A barrage of black cannonballs shot toward the Dragon Flame Pirates.
"Canglong, teach them a lesson," Jiang Qize said calmly from the bow.
The moment his voice fell—
A massive, jagged tail—like a saw made of flesh—burst out of the sea.
BOOM!!
Waves surged violently as the enormous tail came crashing down toward the two warships, swatting the incoming cannonballs aside as if they were nothing.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
Explosions blossomed across the water's surface like a series of fireworks.
Watching the gigantic tail descend, Hais sneered coldly. "Shave!"
In an instant, his figure vanished from the warship and reappeared near Canglong's tail.
"Super—Tempest Kick!"
His long leg snapped out, unleashing a slicing wave of energy dozens of meters long that struck the monster's tail with brutal force.
Rumble!
A powerful shockwave swept across the sea, followed by a deafening crash.
Canglong's tail was driven backward by the impact, a long bloody gash opening across it—only to heal moments later.
"Rooaar!"
Canglong roared furiously, whipped its tail, and plunged back beneath the waves, disappearing from sight.
"Interesting…"
Jiang Qize's lips curled into a faint smile as he watched the marine.
He actually managed to injure Canglong—just barely—but still impressive.
High above, Hais's eyes narrowed when he saw that his strike hadn't even managed to cut the beast in half.
He was arrogant, yes—but not stupid. For something to shrug off a blow from him so easily spoke volumes of its strength.
"Rooaar!"
A deep roar echoed from the depths. Caught off guard, Hais's expression changed instantly.
"Not good!"
He turned just in time to see a massive shadow rising beneath the two warships.
His eyes went wide. "No—!"
Too late.
RUMBLE!
A colossal head, tens of meters wide, erupted from the sea between the two ships. Both warships were struck aside, sent spinning into the air before crashing down onto the ocean.
BOOM! BOOM!
The impact was like detonating two missiles underwater. Towering waves rose, engulfing the shattered vessels.
"You bastards!"
Hais roared, his body igniting with dancing flames. Fire licked across his limbs, and his aura surged wildly. His eyes burned blood-red.
"The Flame-Flame Fruit…?"
Jiang Qize frowned, murmuring to himself.
That shouldn't be possible. If he really was the previous user of the Flame-Flame Fruit, why was there no record of him?
"Raptorex—kill him."
"Yes, sir!"
Raptorex's voice rumbled as he rose to his full thirty-meter height, his presence utterly overwhelming.
"Die!"
Hais's expression twisted with rage and bloodlust.
The air rippled as he vanished and reappeared above Raptorex's head, bringing his leg down with explosive force.
But Raptorex, armed with Observation Haki, swatted upward like striking an insect. A dark shimmer of Armament Haki gleamed across his hand.
RUMBLE!!
Hais's foot landed squarely on Raptorex's head, unleashing a terrifying shockwave that blasted vacuum winds in every direction.
The ship beneath them groaned, twin holes punched through its deck, and for a moment it seemed the entire vessel might sink.
Jiang Qize's fists clenched white as he glared furiously at the marine before him.
