Chapter 76 - Chapter 76: The First Battle

Chapter 76: The First Battle

Camon, who had already landed on another ship, saw that the pirates on the middle vessel had all been wiped out in an instant. He clenched his teeth.

Then, with a roar, his body swelled and morphed into a massive heavy-clawed Dinosaur.

"Roar~!"

The surrounding pirates, armed with swords and guns, flinched back in fright.

"Shoot him! Attack—now!"

"If we don't fight, we'll die anyway!"

Two pirate squad leaders shouted, brandishing their weapons as they charged toward Camon.

"Roar~!"

Camon bellowed again, opening his massive jaws. His body swelled even further—his mouth stretching over ten meters wide—as he lunged forward and bit down on dozens of pirates at once.

"Ahhh!"

"M-monster!"

"Help me! I don't want to die—!"

The terrified cries rang out as his shadow fell over them.

Then came the sound—crunch!—as his enormous jaws snapped shut.

The pirates vanished, swallowed whole without a trace.

Those who survived froze in horror. Weapons clattered to the deck as they dropped them and dove into the sea in panic.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Camon turned his huge body, his thick tail sweeping across the deck and sending pirates flying like ragdolls.

Within moments, that entire ship was cleared out.

Two pirate ships destroyed—in less than a minute.

Aisha and Buck hadn't even made a move yet.

They stood staring, dumbfounded, eyes wide in disbelief.

"Q-Quick! Set sail! Go!"

On the last remaining ship, one of the pirates screamed in terror.

It was horrifying—within a single minute, their captain and vice-captain were dead, their comrades slaughtered before they could even react.

"Wife, let's go," Buck said at last, taking a deep breath.

"Mm." Aisha nodded firmly.

A moment ago, they'd said that if the others couldn't handle the fight, they would step in. Yet the battle had been over before they could even lift a finger. How embarrassing.

They bent their knees deeply, then leapt into the air, soaring toward the last ship.

A twenty-meter gap was nothing for them.

"Shoot! Shoot them down!"

Before they even landed, one of the pirates shouted in panic.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

A hail of bullets tore through the air toward them.

Splurt, splurt, splurt…

Even though the pirates' aim was sloppy, the distance was short—half the bullets still struck. Bright sprays of blood blossomed across Aisha and Buck's bodies.

Their expressions darkened; anger twisted their faces.

Boom! Boom!

They crashed down onto the ship, the impact shaking the deck.

"Roar~!"

Both of them transformed into their dinosaur forms. The immense weight of their bodies tilted the ship, making the pirates stagger and lose balance.

The bullets embedded in their scales popped out one by one, clattering onto the deck.

"Roar~!"

The two of them roared, charging into the crowd. What followed was a massacre.

The pirates stood no chance. Within minutes, the deck ran red with blood.

Soon, they returned to the Dragon Flame pirate ship.

"You two may be a cook and a doctor," Jiang Qize said evenly, looking at them, "but your strength still isn't enough. You'll need more training. I don't care how weak someone is when they join—but from that point on, weakness is not allowed."

Weakness itself wasn't frightening—he could fix that.

Even a pig, if it desired power, could be trained into a mighty fighter.

"Yes, Captain!"

Aisha and Buck bowed their heads, shamefaced.

"I'll find suitable fruits for you," Jiang Qize added.

One didn't need a Devil Fruit to become strong—but having one made it easier. Though there was the weakness to seawater, that only mattered if an enemy could actually capture them. If they couldn't be caught, it wasn't a weakness at all.

Even if they were knocked into the sea, it wouldn't matter—after all, the Mosasaurus was always waiting beneath the waves.
