Chapter 49: Tricking the Blue Ogre
"Ding-shishishi… then I'll gladly intrude."
Blue Ogre Dorry laughed heartily, driving his massive sword into the ground before sitting down with a thud that made the earth tremble.
"T. rex, go hunt some more prey. camon, you go with him," Jiang Qize instructed.
"Yes, Captain!" camon replied eagerly.
Ever since eating the Heavy Claw Dragon Fruit, he was no longer the powerless man he used to be. The dragon's tremendous physique and strength now flowed through his body, filling him with boundless energy.
Now he wanted to fight—to feel that burning rush of manly blood.
"This little brother isn't simple," Dorry said with a chuckle as he eyed the massive Tyrannosaurus.
"Nothing compared to you, Elder Dorry," Jiang Qize said with a modest smile.
With Dorry's strength, the T. rex would probably die before even getting close. His power was easily at the peak of a Marine Vice Admiral—and if he had Armament Haki, he might even reach near-Admiral level.
"Has Elder Dorry ever thought about… leaving this island?" Jiang Qize asked.
Dorry shook his head. "I have a duel with someone. Until we settle who wins, I won't leave this island."
Jiang Qize's eyes flickered slightly.
He wanted to recruit both Giants on Little Garden—but there was no normal way to do it.
If he used that method, it would gnaw at his conscience. He'd always had a line he didn't want to cross.
Since coming to this world, he hadn't killed innocent people—only the most vicious pirates.
But… this was a world where the strong devoured the weak. If he could gain power through this, was it really so wrong? Besides… they wouldn't die.
After a moment of hesitation, Jiang Qize clenched his teeth. His decision was made.
Forgive me… we're not that close anyway.
"Elder Dorry, this is a fruit I brought back from a Treasure Island. Please, have a taste…"
He picked up one of the dinosaur fruits beside him, forced a polite smile, and handed it over, though his heart pounded nervously.
If Dorry sensed something was wrong and swung that massive sword, it'd all be over.
Dorry looked at the fruit in Jiang Qize's hand—its surface coarse and dull, like hardened sand—and blinked in surprise.
"Ding-shishishi…"
He laughed again, reaching down with his enormous hand and gingerly picking up the small fruit, careful not to crush it with his strength.
Then, without hesitation, he tossed it into his mouth—a clear gesture of trust and respect toward Jiang Qize.
Seeing that, Jiang Qize felt a pang of guilt. He really did feel like he was deceiving an honest man.
As soon as the dinosaur fruit slid down Dorry's throat, a flash of light gleamed in his eyes.
He gave a bitter smile.
"You really got me this time, little brother," he said, his tone calm and oddly respectful rather than angry. "You fooled me good."
Jiang Qize lowered his head, guilt pressing on his chest. "I'm sorry, Elder Dorry… but I need power."
Dorry merely shook his head. Then, standing tall, he suddenly let out a thunderous roar—
"ROAR!!"
The sound shook the trees. His massive body began to morph rapidly, muscles bulging and bones reshaping as scales spread across his skin.
Before long, a massive, armored dinosaur towered before them—an Ankylosaurus, more than twenty meters long, far larger and more formidable than the ones Jiang Qize had ever summoned.
Watching this, Jiang Qize's eyes gleamed with realization.
So the stronger the person who eats it, the stronger the dinosaur form becomes… It's a kind of balance.
Soon, Dorry reverted to human form—but the transformation had left a mark. Sharp spikes still jutted from his skin, and a thick, metallic armor-like layer now covered his body, glinting in the light.
"Still… being human feels more comfortable," Dorry sighed with relief.
Then he raised his hand—and a massive spiked mace, nearly two meters wide, appeared in his grip.
He'd already mastered the power of the Ankylosaurus Fruit.
