Chapter 35: The Little Gorilla's Transformation
They exchanged glances, their eyes filled with hesitation and conflict.
"Damn it, what are we afraid of?"
A bald, fierce-looking brute shouted angrily and charged at Jiang Qize, swinging a spiked club.
"Duck."
Jiang Qize pressed down on little Robin's head, making her crouch low to the ground.
Then, he lashed out with a whip-like kick.
A streak of black light flashed across his leg as it slammed violently into the spiked club.
Clang!
Sparks flew—the weapon was kicked clean out of the man's hands.
In the next instant, Jiang Qize's figure blurred. His hand turned into a blade as it swept across the bald man's neck.
Splurt—
A fountain of blood burst out.
"Ugh—" The bald man's eyes widened in disbelief as he clutched his throat and collapsed to the ground, unwilling even in death.
"Kill him!"
"There's so many of us! What's there to be scared of?"
"I don't believe one man can take us all down!"
Shouting angrily, the others rushed toward Jiang Qize.
But among them, some tried to take advantage of the chaos and lunged for Nico Robin instead.
As long as they caught her, it wouldn't be a loss—after all, her bounty was even higher than that summoner's!
Jiang Qize sneered coldly. A bunch of worthless scum.
Then he vanished into the crowd like a phantom.
"Ahhh!"
"Help me!"
"I was wrong—don't kill—"
Slash, slash, slash!
Cries of agony and terror filled the air as bodies were sent flying one after another, crashing into the ground like torn sacks.
"Heh heh… fight, fight. The messier, the better."
Among the chaos, a very ordinary-looking middle-aged man—barely one and a half meters tall—grinned sinisterly. His eyes locked on little Robin as he crept toward her.
He wasn't the only one with that idea.
Several muscular bounty hunters nearby also moved in her direction.
Robin crouched on the ground, trembling so hard her whole body shook.
"Seventy-nine million—she's mine," Kams licked his lips, greed gleaming in his eyes as he reached a hand toward her.
"ROAR—!"
Just then, a terrifying beastly roar shook the air.
The small gorilla beside Robin suddenly swelled in size, a surge of murderous energy radiating from its body.
Buzz!!
In the blink of an eye, it transformed into a towering, ten-meter-tall giant ape—no longer cute or harmless. From its mouth jutted four fangs nearly twenty centimeters long, gleaming with savage menace.
Then it swung a massive hand down.
BOOM!!
The ground quaked violently as everyone in front of it was flattened into bloody pulp.
"ROAR! ROAR! ROAR—!"
The giant ape howled furiously, pounding its chest like thunder before slapping at the surrounding "ants."
"It's another Devil Fruit user!"
"R-Run! Run!"
The bounty hunters panicked completely, abandoning all thoughts of capture.
They wished they could grow extra legs just to flee faster.
Robin looked up, and when she saw the massive ape standing protectively before her, fear was the last thing she felt. Her bright, tear-filled eyes rippled with emotion as she burst into tears of gratitude.
Jiang Qize also stopped and stared in disbelief at the transformed gorilla.
"This is… the little gorilla?" he murmured.
He'd been with it for a while and never once realized it could transform.
Isn't this basically a Super Saiyan?
The remaining bounty hunters didn't dare hesitate—they scattered in all directions.
Jiang Qize only gave them a glance, unfazed.
Let them run. They weren't worth anything anyway.
Still, he had already killed plenty.
Thanks to his downgraded Cutting Fruit ability, his hands and feet were sharp as blades, leaving the battlefield drenched in blood.
He was soaked scarlet from head to toe, his long silver hair matted and stained, blood dripping steadily from his clothes—making him look every bit like a demon.
