Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Success, Quietly Costly

Three years ago, the art studio had been nothing more than a dream. 🤩

Anisa and Zayan had pooled together every rupee they could save;cutting down on comforts, postponing wants, and believing in something bigger than themselves. With that modest amount, they rented a small, sunlit space and named it simply, AZ Studio.

In the beginning, it had been just the two of them. 🏩

Zayan painted tirelessly, his talent spilling onto canvases with raw emotion and precision. Anisa handled designs, client meetings, promotions, and finances, shaping the studio's identity with her creative vision. They worked side by side, often staying late into the night, sharing tea and laughter between brushstrokes and deadlines.

Slowly, people began to notice. 🔎

Word spread about Zayan's unique style, how his art told stories rather than decorating walls. Orders increased. Exhibitions followed. What once struggled to survive began to grow steadily, demanding more time, more attention, more commitment.

Now, the studio was no longer small. 🖼

New assistants came and went. Clients filled the schedule. Zayan's name started circulating in artistic circles, earning him recognition he had never imagined. And Anisa, watching from beside him, felt nothing but pride.

Yet success carried its own weight.

"Studio work," Zayan would say, checking his phone mid-conversation.

"Client deadlines," he'd explain when dinner grew cold.

"Just a few more hours," when Anisa waited alone. 😒

Gradually, the time they once shared became scarce.

Anisa understood. She truly did. Growth required sacrifice, and Zayan's talent deserved its moment. Still, there were evenings when she sat by the window, sketchbook untouched, wondering when their time had turned into his time. 🤗

Zayan never noticed her quiet sighs.

Not because he didn't care; but because he believed she would always understand.

And Anisa, loving him the way she did, never complained. 😍

She only smiled, nodded, and waited.

Unaware that somewhere within that growing distance, something fragile had begun to fracture; softly, silently, and dangerously. 😖
