Chapter 42 - Heroes VS Villains

"Now, it's my turn to attack!"

Boom!

The enormous steel behemoth shot out like a cannonball, the sheer kinetic energy creating an oppressive force that made the air crackle.

Erik narrowed his eyes.

Though he didn't want to admit it, the silver-white armor did give him a sense of dread.

"Hmph, just a tin man."

Erik clasped his hands together, and countless twisted rebar and car wrecks from the surrounding ruins seemed to answer the call of an emperor. They instantly converged before him, forming a steel shield several meters thick.

Physical attacks? In his opinion, that was the most ridiculous thing.

However, the next second—

Bang!

A deafening roar sounded.

That steel shield, strong enough to withstand missile bombardment, shattered instantly like a brittle biscuit under Tony's single punch.

Countless metal fragments scattered and flew.

"What?!" Erik's pupils suddenly constricted.

The punch didn't stop, carrying a terrifying might of ten thousand tons, and slammed heavily into Erik's magnetic force field.

Thud!

Erik was sent flying.

He plowed a deep furrow in the ground, and his white and purple bodysuit was torn in several places.

"Vibranium... it's all Vibranium."

Erik gritted his teeth, a trace of blood spilling from the corner of his lips.

Only a wealthy nation like Wakanda, combined with a spendthrift like Tony, could create such an utterly unreasonable pure Vibranium armor.

"It's not over yet, old man."

Tony didn't pause, the pulse cannons on his armor's arms charged and ready.

But just then—

"Roar—!!!"

A beast-like roar sounded from the side.

Hulk, like an out-of-control green war machine, leaped high into the air. His massive fists, carrying a world-destroying momentum, smashed down towards Erik, who hadn't yet gotten up.

"Hulk Smash!!!"

Sandwiched between Tony and Hulk, Erik was cornered this time.

If he were hit by this green giant, his old bones would likely fall apart on the spot.

It was one thing to be embarrassed in front of Frieza but if he couldn't even defeat these two Earthlings now, how could he continue to thrive in Frieza's army? How could he even become a commander?

"Enough! You ants!" He roared, flinging his arms open.

In that moment, he seemed to be overdrawing all his mutant abilities.

Buzz... Buzz...

The entire ruins of Madison Square Garden trembled.

Rebar deep underground, buried pipes, and even railway tracks several kilometers away let out a mournful wail.

"Rise!!!"

Rumble!

The ground cracked, and countless tons of metal surged skyward like a black tsunami.

The reporters in the stands turned pale with fright. If they were caught in that, there wouldn't even be a speck left.

"Ah! Help!"

"Don't kill me! I'm here to livestream!"

Just when the reporters thought they were doomed, a faint layer of purple aura, like a giant soap bubble, silently enveloped the entire stands. All the rubble and metal, upon touching this aura, slid off like raindrops hitting glass.

In the sky.

Frieza still maintained his elegant, arms-crossed posture, merely wiggling a finger slightly.

"Oh my, they're useless trash."

Frieza watched the reporters below, who were screaming and wetting themselves in fear, his mood quite pleasant as he listened to the constant prompts of [Fear Points +100] in his mind.

"But after all, they are Fear Points ATMs specially left behind by me."

"If they break, I'd have to find new ones, which is too much trouble."

"Oh ho ho ho... scream louder."

This feeling of watching the show while collecting Fear Points was simply too satisfying.

Meanwhile, at the center of the battlefield.

Erik paid no attention to the reporters' lives or deaths. He controlled the tsunami-like metal torrent, instantly engulfing Hulk in mid-air.

"Get down here!"

Countless steel bars, like living giant pythons, tightly wrapped around Hulk's limbs, torso, and neck.

Bang!

Hulk was forcefully pinned to the ground.

"Roar! Hulk... can't move!"

Hulk struggled frantically but the metal was continuously reinforced and compressed by Erik, its density even exceeding tank armor.

Just as Erik let out a sigh of relief—

Boom!

Tony's attack arrived.

This time, it wasn't just Tony.

Apocalypse, who had been sent flying by a punch earlier, finally crawled out of the ruins.

Seeing Erik being ganged up on, the ancient mutant felt his chance to shine had come.

"I will not be shamed again in front of Lord Frieza!" Apocalypse roared, his molecular structure instantly reorganizing.

Giant Transformation!

In just a blink of an eye, Apocalypse transformed into a blue giant dozens of meters tall, like a mythical Titan descending.

"Get lost! Tin man!"

The giant Apocalypse slapped out a hand, and at the same time, a massive wave of telekinetic force slammed into Tony like a heavy hammer.

Tony felt the armor's alarms blare wildly, and he was sent flying by this terrifying force. He tumbled several times in the air before stabilizing himself.

"Shit! Are these villains on steroids? Why are they all so fierce?" Tony cursed.

The other side of the battlefield had also turned into a chaotic mess.

Scott appeared out of nowhere. He removed his visor, and two wild red lasers shot from his eyes, aiming directly at Erik.

"Die, monster!"

But before his attack could land, a figure blocked his path.

Sebastian Shaw!

He spread his arms, accepting Scott's laser with a look of enjoyment.

"Delicious energy."

Sebastian's body was like a bottomless pit, absorbing the entire laser, then he retaliated with an energy wave.

"Watch out!"

Steve slid forward, raising his Vibranium shield to block in front of Scott.

Clang!

The energy wave exploded, pushing both of them back several meters.

"Thanks, cap."

"Less talk, more fighting."

Just then, ripples appeared in the air.

Invisible Woman, Susan Storm, used her invisibility to quietly circle behind Sebastian, preparing a sneak attack.

But Sebastian was a master of energy manipulation.

"Little mouse, I smell you."

He suddenly turned and punched into the empty air.

Susan was forced to reveal herself, raising her force field shield to clash head-on with Sebastian.

Not far away, Peter was swinging on a web, preparing to provide support.

"Hey! Guy over there dressed like a plumber, can you stop bullying the lady?"

Peter shot out a web.

Whoosh!

A silver claw mark slashed across, cutting the web.

A white-haired beauty in a black, skin-tight leather suit, with a figure so hot it was scandalous, blocked his path.
