The Solar Imperium is a constitutional empire within the Perseus Sector, governed in-turn by the Emperor and his Six Great Houses - each possessing status as nobility and command over an entire star system and private army.

Politics: The Emperor holds direct command over the five core systems of the Imperium, including the capital system Solarion. The remaining six star systems of the Imperium are owned each by a Great House. All six heads of the Great Houses then convene once yearly in the Clansmoot in which they hear the concerns of the minor noble houses, determine the most pressing concerns, and discuss how to deal with said concerns. The Emperor may also dispatch important missions to the Great Houses.
Military: The Emperor controls the Royal Fleet (consisting of five naval squadrons) and the First and Second Imperial Fleets (each consisting of four naval squadrons), along with a full Company (200) of WarMechs and twenty infantry legions. Each of the Great Houses is in-turn allowed one naval fleet consisting of four squadrons at most, three infantry legions, and five stars of WarMechs. These forces can be further augmented by personal guards of Minor Houses.
The Emperor: As has been case for the Emperors of the 'Old Empire', those who claim the title must be psychics with the blood of House Regius, and as has been the case, the Emperor usually is a prescient able to see the future. He uses this ability to steer the Imperium in the path best suited to their future success.
The Great Houses:
House Hawthorne: House Hawthorne is known for their great sense of duty and honor, as well as for producing the finest soldiers, generals, and admirals. They are duty-bound to the Emperor, always undertaking the hardest, most impossible missions.
House Mordred: House Mordred is known for their deception, greed, and subsistence on the Slave Trade. Whilst slavery is majority outlawed, House Mordred are given permit to maintain the menial workflow of the Empire with slaves.
House Kantreel: House Kantreel is known for their gifts with mechanics and psychic understanding of machines' functions and weak points. House Kantreel serve as head engineers and executives of the Solar Engineering Complex.
House Cocytus: House Cocytus is known as data brokers and analysts, telecommunications specialists, and for working with older technology. House Cocytus maintains the communication networks and dominion-era computers used by the Imperium.
