Chapter 123 - Chapter 123: The Bishop Who Is Starting to Lose His Composure

York raised his eyebrows, looking at this Nun whom he seemed to have met somewhere before, and subconsciously recalled Irene's help along the way.

"Very good, she helped a lot along the way," York said with a gentle smile.

"Strong and brave, she is exactly the kind of Deaconess my Pluto Church needs."

After saying that, he walked toward Xavier, who had stopped to wait for him, leaving Sister Tracy looking proud and happy for Irene... York didn't see Sister Tracy's expression as he spoke to the waiting Xavier.

"Let's keep going."

"Okay, Father."

Xavier glanced over there, nodded, and continued to lead the way... To those in the know, the matter of Saint Kata Monastery was naturally a major event.

Even if the Nun's suicide hadn't happened, the mere fact that the sealing formation of the Gates of Hell had loosened and demonic power had leaked out was enough for someone of the bishop rank to take it seriously.

So, it was normal for Bishop Rolfshang to be concerned.

The main thing was that he also happened to want to mention it and report on the situation at Saint Kata Monastery.

Following Brother Xavier, York arrived at a magnificent corridor. They passed through several nicely decorated large doors and finally stopped in front of an even larger, more luxurious door.

Xavier stopped, bowed slightly, and respectfully gestured with his hand.

"Father Yorkes, Bishop Rolfshang is waiting for you inside."

York gave an affirmative grunt and pushed open the door in front of him.

As the door swung open, everything inside was revealed before York's eyes.

This was the altar hall inside the cathedral.

The high dome was resplendent with starlight, adding a sacred and solemn atmosphere to the entire space. Sunlight spilled through the stained glass windows, bathing the pews, all the decorative artworks, and the surrounding paintings and murals in a soft glow.

Looking at this scene, the only thing York could think of was how truly magnificent it was—thousands of times more grand than his own doghouse. These exquisite murals alone would leave any artist in awe if they were taken outside.

One could only say, is this truly worthy of being the Lutheran Cathedral, the provincial center governed by the Archbishop?

York looked at the old man sitting in front of the silver-gray altar, praying with his eyes closed, and walked over slowly.

"Bishop Rolfshang."

The old man, whose hair was gray with only a hint of black, slowly opened his eyes and looked at the young priest sitting on the left pew.

"York, is it over?"

Taking this opportunity to complete his daily fixed task, York stared at the image of jesus above and nodded.

"Saint Kata Monastery no longer exists."

The way he said it, combined with the ambiguity of the phrase "no longer exists," made Bishop Rolfshang freeze for a moment, and he subconsciously asked.

"What do you mean?"

Unable to help but think of that massive mushroom cloud, York grinned.

"Literally, Bishop Rolfshang."

Hearing this, Bishop Rolfshang stared at the seemingly sheepish York. He suddenly remembered that this young priest was the most troublemaking priest in the church. Putting aside his past, he had recently heard that this fellow had blown up another building.

Bishop Rolfshang's expression became hesitant.

"York, tell me, have you gone and done something else again?"

"No," York said solemnly and sincerely.

"Bishop Rolfshang, I have completed the mission properly."

Bishop Rolfshang didn't believe him one bit.

"And so?"

York began to clasp his hands and close his eyes in prayer, preparing to complete his daily fixed task.

"So I destroyed Saint Kata Monastery completely, leaving no trace, because it was no longer holy and there was no need for it to remain."

These words were stated very clearly. Bishop Rolfshang's face froze, and his cloudy eyes widened slightly, becoming clear.

"You...!"

Bishop Rolfshang looked at the young priest who was praying with his eyes closed. He wanted to say something, but in the end, it turned into a bitter smile.

"I knew it. I knew that if you asked for a helicopter, you would definitely cause some kind of trouble. I thought that by removing the missiles from the helicopter, I would be able to prevent you from doing anything, but I still couldn't stop you!"

"Cough!"

York, still praying with his eyes closed, couldn't help but give a dry cough.

"Bishop Rolfshang, you are the person in charge here. Please help me tell His Eminence that I really didn't do anything."

Hearing this, Bishop Rolfshang felt a headache. He covered his forehead and didn't answer the question, only muttering to himself.

"No, I have to send someone to Saint Kata Monastery to see what on earth you've done this time."

With that, Bishop Rolfshang couldn't help but glare at York, who looked indifferent and detached as if it had nothing to do with him, and then got up and left the hall.

The sound of footsteps echoed. York opened his eyes and glanced back out of the corner of his eye. Looking at the hurried departure, the old man seemed truly worried.

"Sigh, the Gates of Hell have been destroyed; you should be more than happy..."

York shook his head, not caring much, and continued to pray.

"Lord,"

"I have words I wish to tell you..."

"I used the Holy Blood you left behind to experience a brand-new world. In my vision at that moment, everything became insignificant..."

"I used this power to bless your believers, destroy the Gates of Hell, and destroy the unholy land..."

"If you can hear my words, I hope you can give me another opportunity like this in the future..."

"..."

As he spoke, York unknowingly said many things. When he finished, a task completion notification sounded in his ear.

[Prayer: Daily Prayer (Completed)]

[Reward: Points +0.5 has been issued]

"Amen!"

After finishing his closing remarks, York calmly added the 0.5 attribute point he had just received to Spirit, rounding off the value.

[Point addition successful]

[Spirit 130.5 increased to 131]

"That feels better."

York looked up at the eternal image of jesus and couldn't help but stretch comfortably.

This business trip, although it involved a long journey, had been very rewarding.

Not to mention the 40-point mission reward, just experiencing that other level of sensation was already worth the effort.

"After all, such opportunities are rare," York muttered to himself as he stood up and slowly left the magnificent and luxurious altar hall... At the same time.

Because of Bishop Rolfshang's order, the entire Lutheran Cathedral was in a state of chaos. Led by Brother Isas, a Knight Squad boarded the HH60W helicopter that had just returned to the rear courtyard and set off again for Saint Kata Monastery to investigate.

Appearing at the window, Bishop Rolfshang watched the helicopter as it gradually moved away and became a tiny speck that eventually vanished, and said with a bit of a headache.

"This kid is truly a headache, as always."

As he spoke, the old man recalled what York had done in the past and their previous conversation. His face twitched slightly, and he began to lose his composure...
