Chapter 122 - Chapter 122: Return

The virtual window, like a game interface, displayed all his personal data one by one.

His all-around constitution, Health, Spirit, Magic Power, and so on were all clear at a glance.

It was just a pity that in his personal experience and experiments, the terms were these terms, but they could cause chain reactions that affected other areas.

Just as the all-around constitution was connected to basics like Strength and Speed.

And Health was connected to the body's most fundamental physical qualities, and also to life itself, very simply. In his opinion, the Health attribute was more like a way to add points for physical evolution. He just didn't know what kind of monster he would become when the points reached a certain limit?

York could only think of one possibility: a Superman.

Looking at the Spirit Power below, he initially thought it was just a turtle shell, capable of resisting mental attacks, equivalent to mental resistance. So, to prevent demonic incursions into his consciousness, he initially paid great attention to this attribute.

But in the end, he still researched related attributes, which was that Spirit Power was also a manifestation of Holy Power and Power of Faith, capable of Holy Imbuement on anything to increase critical Holy damage.

Now, it even involved Telekinesis.

Recalling the taste of displaying his holiness in front of others earlier, a hint of fervor flashed in York's eyes.

This Spirit Power might eventually lead to the development of a Saint, such as Sacred Words and Sacred Language.

"I just don't know what the final development of Magic Power will be..."

York looked at the Magic Power, which was his initial focus, simply because it could be Enchanted and could also add some special abilities to himself.

Of course, the use of Magic Power was not limited to this; it could even be converted through the system to perform more diverse functions.

Although the function he used most was defense, this Magic Power felt somewhat like a universal treasure chest, useful in any situation. It could even, by sacrificing its upper limit, forcefully grant others a true supernatural ability, which could also be considered a superpower.

After reviewing everything, York couldn't help but shake his head. This combination made him feel that these attributes were quite like a combination set of game points... Buzz!

Listening to the helicopter engine, York looked around and decided to divide the newly acquired task reward of +40 attribute points into four equal parts, adding ten points to each of the four major attributes.

"Just right, fair and square."

[Points added successfully]

[all-around constitution increased from 35 to 45]

[Health increased from 125 to 135]

[Spirit increased from 120.5 to 130.5]

[Magic Power increased from 181 to 191]

[...]

With the successful addition of points, a total of 40 points of upgrade, York instantly experienced what it felt like to be both comfortable and itchy, a dual sensation.

Perhaps only the phrase "laughing through pain, crying through laughter" could roughly express it.

It was like the fitness enthusiast mentioned earlier; after a workout and reaching a goal, when the whole body is sore, forcefully hammering a sore thigh would also make one unable to help but cry with laughter.

"It's addictive."

York grinned, slumped back, pressing his broad back completely against the back of the seat, and closed his eyes against the strong wind blowing in from the side.

He savored the moment, enjoying the leisure after completing the mission.

Feeling the changes within his body, feeling the increase in his strength.

He had become stronger again... He didn't know how much time had passed, but feeling the helicopter engine sound getting softer and softer, York suddenly opened his eyes and found that the helicopter had slowly landed in the backyard of the Lutheran Cathedral.

He subconsciously glanced outside.

Brother Rechel, wearing a Knights Sword, and some clergy dressed in divine robes, were slowly approaching.

At the same time, Hili, after operating the control panel, turned back to remind him.

"Father Yorkes, we've arrived."

York glanced at Aileen, who was still sleeping next to him.

"Hili, don't forget about that guy in the room. This is your mess, remember to handle it well."

He hadn't forgotten the so-called protagonist of the underworld, after all, that guy was still unconscious in his room.

Hearing this, Hili was stunned. He understood Father Yorkes's meaning: the Father wasn't going to bother with this matter anymore.

York unbuckled Aileen's seatbelt on his own, and while taking her hand, he offered a suggestion to the bewildered Hili.

"Although I don't know what your purpose is, I can offer you a suggestion: you can talk to the people at the Lutheran Cathedral."

Easily scooping up Aileen, York glanced at Brother Rechel and the others who had already walked over.

"After all, you also said that guy is the fuse for a great war between the Lycan and Vampire races. Perhaps they will take care of these matters."

Upon hearing this, Hili subconsciously looked at Brother Rechel and the others who were approaching, his face falling.

"Father Yorkes, what purpose could I possibly have?"

"Are you sure you don't?" York glanced at Hili, unmoved.

"So everything you did, you just 'accidentally' stumbled upon? Including infiltrating the Lycan lair, and including the subway, all 'accidentally'?"

A trace of awkwardness, having been exposed, flashed across Hili's face.

"Father, I was simply curious. I just happened to sneak into the Lycan research facility, learned about Michael's situation, and then mentioned it to the old man..."

"Oh."

York said indifferently. He believed him, but he still held the same attitude: he couldn't be bothered.

Without the trigger of a random quest, the Vampires and Lycans in the underworld had nothing to do with him, so what did their life or death matter to him?

"You talk to Brother Rechel yourself. The outside matters might be under his jurisdiction. I'll put in a word for you."

Leaving this remark, and letting Hili stand there with a long face, York carried the sleeping Aileen down from the helicopter as if holding a child.

"Father Yorkes!"

Brother Rechel, who was leading, greeted him first.

"Bishop Rolfshang said that if you could, you might want to go to him first."

Hearing this, York felt no surprise. When the helicopter entered the city area, the Lutheran Cathedral must have already received relevant news.

He looked down at Aileen in his arms, then glanced at the Nun standing furthest away. Judging by her habit, age, and expression, she was probably connected to Aileen.

Looking at the Nun, who seemed somewhat familiar but he couldn't place where he'd seen her, York withdrew his gaze and said calmly.

"Good, I also want to talk to Bishop Rolfshang first."

At this point, York looked back at Hili behind him.

"Brother Rechel, Hili wants to talk to you about something."

Rechel looked at the young man behind the Father and immediately understood.

"Alright, Father Yorkes, I will have Xavier lead the way for you."

He pointed to another clergyman.

The clergyman named Xavier stepped out from the crowd.

"Father Yorkes, please follow me."

York stepped to follow Xavier. When he reached the Nun, he stopped and handed Aileen, who was in his arms, over.

"Nun, she's asleep. Please take good care of her for me."

It happened to be Aileen's Dean, Sister Tracy immediately turned around and respectfully said, "I will, Father."

However, she looked at York, who was about to continue walking, and asked a question.

"Father, may I ask you a question?"

York stopped and looked at the elderly Nun, who then continued.

"Did Aileen behave well?"
