"What are you doing here?! Leave quickly! It's dangerous here!"
Thor shouted subconsciously, driven by an instinctive desire to protect Jane.
Seeing that Thor could still recognize her, a flicker of hope ignited in Jane's heart. Regardless of the danger, she rushed forward and stood in front of Thor, blocking his path with open arms.
"Thor! Look at me!"
"Didn't you promise me? You said you wouldn't be bewitched by that enchantress again! You said your heart was as solid as a rock!"
"Look at what you're doing right now! You're attacking your friends! You're destroying this city! Where is that brave, righteous Thor?!"
"Wake up! Thor! Don't let that evil woman control you!"
Thor looked at Jane, a look of struggle appearing on his face, but it quickly returned to a state of calm.
"Silence, mortal." Thor's tone carried the characteristic arrogance of a god. "Do not insult her!"
"She is no enchantress; she is... she is my lover."
"Lover?" Jane froze, her heart feeling as if it had been pricked by a needle. "Then what am I? What are we?"
Thor looked at her, a flash of impatience crossing his eyes.
Then, he coldly spat out a sentence.
"You?"
"You're just a... scientist, a scientist with decent knowledge."
The atmosphere instantly froze.
Jane stared blankly at Thor.
The man who had once given up his throne for her and fried steaks on Earth was now looking at her with the eyes of a complete stranger.
Even though she knew this was mind control,
these words were simply too hurtful.
Anger ignited, burning through her reason.
"A scientist, is it..."
Jane gritted her teeth and took a large stride forward.
Slap—!!
A crisp, loud slap landed squarely on the God of Thunder's face.
Thor's head was knocked to the side by the blow.
He slowly turned his head back, his eyes burning with fury.
He was a god, the son of odin.
To be slapped in public by a mortal, a woman?
And this woman had even insulted his lover.
"How dare you..."
"Insolent mortal!!"
Thor let out a roar of rage. He suddenly raised his right hand, intending to strike back with a backhand slap.
"Jane! Run!!"
Jessica was horrified at the sight and lunged forward, trying to save her.
But something was faster than Jessica.
Whir————Bang!!!
A silver-gray streak of light streaked from the distance, striking Thor squarely in the face with extreme speed.
Thor was sent flying dozens of meters away, crashing heavily into a shop window, and didn't get up for a long time.
"What was that?!"
Everyone nearby was stunned.
A square-headed hammer was seen floating quietly in front of Jane Foster, like a guardian.
mjolnir, the Hammer of Thor.
Not only had it returned, but it was also vibrating, emitting a hum that only a specific person could understand.
Jane Foster looked at the hammer before her.
She felt an inexplicable sense of familiarity from the hammer, a call to power.
It was as if it were saying: Pick me up.
Jane reached out and gripped the cool handle of the hammer.
Boom————!!!
A massive pillar of lightning descended from the sky, striking Jane directly.
"Ah!!"
Jane let out a cry of surprise, but the sound was quickly drowned out by the roar of the thunder.
Blinding electrical light enveloped her entirely, and the surrounding rubble and dust were swept into the air by the powerful energy field.
Within that dazzling light, the ordinary trench coat Jane was wearing instantly transformed into a set of silver Asgardian armor, with a red cape unfurling behind her.
Her body grew stronger under the baptism of the lightning.
Her long brown hair turned into a brilliant gold amidst the electrical discharge.
When the thunderous light dissipated,
a new figure stood tall in the middle of the street.
She held Mjolnir, with jumping lightning coiled around her. Wearing a silver winged helmet, she radiated a divine majesty no less than Thor's.
She-Thor—Jane Foster, was born.
"This... how is this possible?!"
Crawling out from the ruins, Thor stared with eyes wide enough to pop out at the woman holding his hammer, who radiated a Thor-force even purer than his own.
"That's my hammer!!"
Jane gripped mjolnir, feeling the divine power surging through her body.
She looked at Thor, her eyes beneath the mask flickering with electricity.
"No, Thor."
Jane's voice became majestic and grand.
"Right now, you are not worthy to lift it."
She raised the hammer and pointed it toward the sky.
"Now, let's talk about the 'scientist' issue."
Boom—!
Heavenly thunder struck... Time rewinds to one hour ago.
New Mexico, an astronomical observatory on the outskirts of Puente Antiguo.
Far from the city's bustle, the starry sky was exceptionally clear.
Jane Foster was hunched over a pile of blueprints and data models.
"If I can introduce the concept of quantum entanglement..." She bit the end of her pen, brow furrowed, "maybe I can explain the transmission mechanism of the Bifrost Bridge..."
Knock, knock, knock.
A polite knocking sounded at the door.
Jane didn't even look up: "Darcy, I told you not to disturb me today unless you bought those limited-edition donuts."
"Then it's quite lucky, as I happen to have brought exactly what you wanted."
A magnetic male voice reached her ears.
Jane snapped her head around.
That red and blue figure was leaning against the doorframe, holding a box of her favorite donuts.
"Anthony?" Jane stood up in surprise. "What are you doing here?"
"Just passing by, thought I'd visit an old friend and genius physicist." Homelander walked in with a smile, placing the donuts next to a pile of messy instruments.
"I've read your paper, Jane. Regarding the theoretical corrections to the Einstein-Rosen Bridge."
Homelander picked up a piece of scratch paper, which was a dimensional model Jane had sketched casually.
"It's brilliant. Ahead of its time, even."
"Thank you." Jane was a bit flattered. "But most people think I'm just daydreaming."
"Geniuses are always misunderstood."
Homelander looked at her with sincere eyes.
"Seriously, Jane. Your talent shouldn't be trapped in this crude space, using equipment from the last century."
"And?" She picked up a donut and took a bite, the sweet taste clearing her exhausted mind slightly. "Mr. Anthony, what are you trying to say? You didn't fly halfway across the U.S. just to be a delivery man, did you?"
"Talking to smart people is so much easier."
Homelander's smile faded slightly as he pulled over a chair and sat down, his expression becoming serious.
"Jane, I've come to invite you."
"Invite me? To join The Seven?" Jane joked. "But my superpower is solving equations."
"Haha, that's exactly the superpower I need. This is a new department Vought is forming for you—the Deep Space Exploration and Dimensional Defense Department."
Homelander dropped the joking attitude and continued.
"Do you know why I came to find you?"
"Because you are one of the smartest minds on this Planet."
"The Battle of New York, the Dark Elves... I believe you can see that Earth is no longer safe."
"We are like children holding torches in a dark forest. Every alien civilization is watching us."
Homelander pointed to the starry sky outside the window.
"If we continue to isolate ourselves, there is only one outcome—to be enslaved, or to be destroyed."
Jane fell silent. She had seen the power of aliens firsthand and knew that Homelander was speaking the truth.
"Humanity has been trapped in this tiny solar system for too long. We need to step out, we need to establish interstellar defense lines, we need to spread human civilization to the Milky Way Galaxy!"
Homelander's voice was impassioned and full of persuasive power.
"Only by doing this will we have a chance to start over and avoid being completely destroyed by more powerful alien civilizations."
