The next day, when the squad woke up, they couldn't see Felmer. Elna got up hurriedly and looked here and there. Only one thought came to her mind.
'Did he run away?' She thought.
She picked up her sword and left the hut. She headed to the trial site, and then her thoughts faded. Wernia was there, and Felmer was there, sitting on the rock. He had been there since last night and was trying again and again.
"He had been here since midnight," Wernia said as Elna came there.
Elna nodded and looked at Felmer. Soon, the captain came there as well.
"Where were you?" She asked.
"Checking outside…"
Felmer sat there and concentrated. He was starting to feel the magic waves. But it still wasn't enough. He opened his eyes and poured tea into a cup. He drank all of it and then again closed his eyes.
He took a deep breath and concentrated. He focused as deeply as he could, and it happened. Magical waves began to appear in his mind. They weren't all. Some faint and massive appeared. He focused more, and he found the waves of the rocks in front of him. He sensed a thick wave. He got up, eyes closed, and followed the wave. He slowly walked and tripped over a rock. He balanced himself and again walked. He reached. He opened his eyes and was standing above a rock in the far corner. He looked at it. It was different. He picked it, and then he saw the clue. He had found it.
"Yes!!" He said to himself.
He turned, and now everyone was standing there. He walked to them and handed Elna the paper. And the rock to Wernia.
"Keep the rock. Don't lose it…"
Felmer didn't ask anything and placed the rock in his bag.
"It says:
When the sun kneels but does not sleep,
And bronze bells cry without hands,
Count the steps the river forgets,
The third silence hides the sign."
"I think…" The captain was about to say something, but he stopped.
At that instant, Elna took out her arrow and fired towards the opening of the cave. It was stopped midair. The arrow had hit its target. The bounty hunter revealed himself. His stealth magic had failed.
"How did you?" The captain was shocked.
"You are not the only one who could destroy barriers," He said with a smile.
Soon, several of his companions revealed themselves.
"I think you shouldn't run now…" The man said.
Then, suddenly, the bounty hunters began to float, and then they were bashed into the wall of the cave. It was Wernia's magic.
"Keep the rock and the paper safe…Now, you should head out. Decipher it later. Don't worry. You know what I am," Wernia said to them.
"Thank you," Elna said to her, and then they all ran.
"Master Felmer…" She said, and Felmer stopped. "You are proving yourself, good luck in the trial."
Felmer nodded and joined his squad.
"You won't run away!" The bounty hunter's leader shouted.
Wernia again banged him on the wall.
"Your enemy is here…" She said.
The squad ran back to their horses. At the entrance, two bounty hunters stopped them. But the captain and Melfer took out their swords, rushed at them and decapitated them. The squad ran to their horses, rode them and set off southeast.
Felmer had passed the first trial. Now the second awaited him.
