Although a few resisted, everyone returned to the square obeying Marcos's word. Nafız wanted to see all the people of Parthenia without exception, regardless of whether they were women or children.
The scene was not as they left it. Orcs were holding every corner, scanning them with hostile looks. The people who attacked the Young Lord were gone, replaced by a mountain of corpses.
"Wait calmly where you are told; in the slightest unruliness, your end will be like these!"
The Blood God spoke pointing at the dead bodies rising beside her; although the people sitting slowly were terrified, they wouldn't be able to make a sound. The City Lord was nowhere to be seen; had what was feared happened? Would their lives pass under the domination of orcs from now on?
"Listen very well to what I am about to say, for this will be the last chance given to you!"
Nafız took a deep breath and continued.
"I am the person who committed that massacre you will never forget; I was also the one who killed the former Lord, and the person responsible for the hill you see beside me is none other than me again!"
Her voice was like a sharp knife; she was looking into people's eyes.
"My name is Nafız; the name you use to scare your children belongs to me!"
While saying her last words, she increased the volume of her voice; it was as if she wanted to force this truth into their heads.
"You were talking about this everywhere, saying you wouldn't forget, but I see that many of you were lying!"
Casting a glance at the dead bodies beside her, she continued.
"They erased not only the massacre in the arena but many things from your memory; first of all, you have forgotten the name of the lands you live in!
The name of this continent is the Orc Steppes; here, the law, the judge, and the god are orcs!"
The warriors inside the city would lose themselves in the face of what they heard; they were witnessing the end of an era.
"We gave you an opportunity. We chose an administrator in love with the lands he was born in, who loves his people, who observes justice. In return, like sewer rats, you gossiped wherever you clustered; without seeing the favors done, you made baseless accusations!
Many of you missed the days when you persecuted the owners of the continent and fought to bring them back. The punishment for this should have been washing the city with the blood of all of you, but you have people protecting you from this disaster!"
Not a sound came from the crowd; every word said had a grain of truth. Even if they didn't attack with weapons, like everyone else, they talked about these issues a lot.
"Tell this scene to your children, your grandchildren; etch what you see into your minds. If you attempt to oppose the City Lord I appointed once more, you won't be this lucky!
In the next rebellion, Parthenia will now be an orc homeland, and you will be branded as slaves used for the heaviest and vilest jobs for generations! The gates will remain open until sunrise tomorrow; everyone who wants to leave the city can take whatever they have and go!"
Nafız finished her words and made a gesture with her hand as if saying take them away. Her speech affected the orcs as much as the humans; the orcs listening to her could run to death with a single word of hers.
"You can call the Lord back to his castle; summarizing what happened briefly will be sufficient. I want you to keep Marcos under surveillance; in the slightest sign of betrayal, cut off his head and bring it to me!"
When Kübey received her order, she quickly left where she was and set off towards the City Lord's residence.
"When all humans return to their homes, you will not approach within two hundred steps of the square either. Settle the people living in this vicinity into the houses of the dead!"
Although the last instruction they received seemed strange to them, no one had the heart to question it. They quickly returned to their duties; surely they could find a place to drink and celebrate.
"This order is valid for everyone; you better obey too!"
The captains, surprised by their commander speaking looking into the void, were very surprised when they saw the person slowly appearing. Kuyag, who was impossible to sense let alone see thanks to the equipment he received from the reward dungeon, was saluting with a forced smile.
"Yes ma'am, I am leaving immediately with my friends!"
The items used provided an advantage up to a point; a person's perception level and power were above everything. Since they are this surprised at me, what would these fools do if they knew Sangre, thought the Blood God.
While the chaos ended and the blood-covered square emptied, a footstep echoed. Turning in that direction, Nafız saw the person she expected.
"You finally came out of your hiding place, big guy!"
It was Alyon coming; he was here for the answer to a question bothering his mind after the events he was left out of.
"Weren't you the one saying let our warriors have fun to their heart's content after victory? What happened, were you very affected by the death of the humans lying next to you!"
"You were very curious about my spirit animal, weren't you? You will meet it in a moment, be ready!"
Before two breaths passed, the white rabbit appeared in front of Alyon, and the big orc seeing it was laughing heartily without restraining himself.
"Do you have different colors of this? Give one to me too; what a cute thing this is!"
"Hisssss!"
Spirit animals possessed a certain level of consciousness; the little rabbit growled at the chief with its tiny mouth hearing what was said about itself.
"Oh, keep this away from me. How will I save myself if it snatches my arm?"
Alyon was judging the book by its cover; I wonder how he would behave if he knew beforehand what he would see in a moment?
The target of Nafız's spirit animal was different; it wouldn't dwell much on the orc opposite it. Running, it entered under the hill formed by dead bodies.
"Where did it go now; is it sulking at me?"
Alyon was still pursuing making fun. His spirit animal was a huge bear; perhaps for the first time, he was superior to his friend in a matter.
"It will enter the field of view again in a moment, just wait a bit!"
When the Blood God spoke quite confidently, a doubt fell into Alyon. He focused his attention on the place where the spirit animal dived headfirst, and a few ten breaths later, he would have to jump from where he was in panic.
"Is this hill slowly getting lower? Or am I seeing wrong?"
Rubbing his eyes a few times, the hulking orc was in excitement.
"That spirit animal you made fun of belongs to a Blood God; kneel and repent!"
After his friend's arrogant words, making a hand gesture as if saying get out of here, Alyon sat back down cross-legged.
"As far as I understand, we will wait for the rabbit to eat all the corpses. Do you know what came to my mind? Our state when we looted the bones behind the kitchen tent after the naming ceremony. Who would have said a time would come and those two strange orcs would rule half of the Orc Steppes!"
While the noises of orcs getting drunk came from afar, right next to them were the sounds of ceaselessly breaking bones, tearing flesh and skin. Meanwhile, Alyon was opening the past and blowing winds of nostalgia; how could one not drink at such a time?
"Here, take these drinks; we are busting my master's stash tonight!"
"Ooooo! Look at this miser; I had never tasted drinks belonging to another continent before!"
Looking at her friend taking the bottle she extended, she remembered not only those in this world but also the pleasant moments she lived in her first life.
"I promise, man! Forget another continent; next time we will party with drinks of worlds you can never see!"
"Cheers then!"
