Chapter 92 - Doksan İki

As she approached the source of the sound, the conversations became more audible. A weak male voice was speaking tremblingly.

"Sir, I beg you! I am a poor shop owner; if I give the money you want, we will starve to death!"

"Wow, wow, wow! You are afraid of hunger, but you are not afraid of us, huh!"

"Smack!"

The last sound was the echo of a solid slap; the man hurling threats was getting more and more riled up.

"What happened? Did you think you could get rid of us when the City Lord changed? How happy you were when that brat spoke arrogantly. What was he saying? 'The people will also have a say in the administration of the city!' The ignorant child still thinks the place he lives in belongs to him!"

When Nafız came outside the room on the third floor of the derelict building, she chose to hide herself in the face of the scene she saw. As the subject of the conversations suddenly turned from extortion threat to the City Lord, the Blood God, approaching the broken window frames closely, continued to listen silently.

"What did you do after that bitch cut people down as she pleased in the arena? You embraced the child she chose. His turn will come too; first, we will dry up the roots of traitors like you! Now either you give the money, or we cut off your child's head and take turns raping your wife in front of your eyes!"

The expression of the man collapsing to the ground with the effect of the slap he took changed; crawling, he hugged the feet of the person demanding tribute. This person, whose only option was to beg since he could do nothing, was kissing the mud-covered boots while also asking for forgiveness.

The extortionist laughing with arrogance had a very different appearance contrary to what was expected of him. Normally, these types of people should be scruffy, shabby-looking horse thieves, but the man was dressed extremely stylishly, clean-faced, and carried an elite air when looked at from the outside.

The ten people in the room were no different from their leader. They had short hair and harsh looks. Their attire was plain but clean; if not for what she heard, even Nafız wouldn't think of labeling these people as extortionists.

"You despicable piece of shit! How happy you were clapping until your hands exploded that day!"

The leader, landing a hard kick on the man clinging to his legs, was enchanted by the sound of breaking bone reaching his ear.

While events intensified inside, the Blood God standing silently outside the dilapidated window took her daggers in her hands. Those inside were aware of many issues the public couldn't know; there were very few people surviving in the arena that day.

"Do what is necessary to the child; let's deal with his mother first. Move to a nice spot, you stingy bastard; I want the exact same performance you displayed while Marcos was speaking!"

The bright leader had bad intentions. Making a throat-cutting sign with his thumb to his bodyguard holding the small child, he headed towards the woman trembling with fear with calm steps.

"No, I beg you! Do whatever you want to me, but leave my child alone!"

While the woman shouted frantically in the arms of the hulking man grabbing her from behind, the pathetic scene meant nothing to the extortionists in the room. Their goal was clear: your money or your life!

Although the woman, who would witness her child being killed before her eyes, seemed about to collapse on her knees, the hulk behind her prevented this from happening by grabbing her arms.

"Zing! Zing!"

Just at this moment, the sound made by two metals cutting through the air rang in the ears. Nafız threw the daggers towards the men holding the mother and her child.

The weapons would enter through the right eye of one and the left eye of the other. It happened so fast that the two hulks couldn't even make a sound while dying.

"Who is it? Come out, I will disembowel you!"

The leader panicked; his men weren't people who would taste death in less than two breaths. He immediately leaned his back against a wall and grabbed his short sword at his waist.

"These people didn't see what happened in the arena; I am sure of that. The subject I wonder about is, how do you know?"

The Blood God, slowly stepping on the floor of the room, would look at the faces of the panicked men one by one and stop at the leader last. The man's face didn't look unfamiliar at all; if she thought a little, she could find who he was.

Also, what could be his reason for reflecting what happened that day by manipulating it? All witnesses knew that Alyon gave the massacre order, not her.

Was he an opportunist using the general judgment formed? Or was he a mole aiming to stir up trouble?

"What are you doing here?"

While the cleanly dressed extortionist leader looked with fearful eyes at the orc appearing in the room, those under his command took a step back each. The person they heard from rumors was in front of them; while pleasure-filled minutes awaited them, they had drawn the short straw.

"Well, we married off the kids; we spent quite a bit saying wedding and all. I need money these days. While looking for a place to be a bitch, I saw subjects involving a considerable amount of gold being discussed; I couldn't help but stop by!"

The long sentence she constructed would lose its meaning before reaching the brains of the men, proud just a moment ago and now cowed, entering through their ears. Their lives were at stake right now; the only thought in their minds was to escape.

"Anyway, don't tire me if you wish, gentlemen! One of you will do my job; will you determine it, or should I choose randomly?"

How things had changed. In a place where there was no law or order, a strong person could have the right to play with you like a toy.

"Whoever you are, bitch, I will disembowel you!"

One of the remaining eight people rebelled against what happened and swung his short sword furiously at the Blood God.

"Crack!"

When the man whose target was Nafız took his last step, his kneecap turned backward. While the leader's face turned white as a sheet in the face of the scene, the man would topple over in pain.

"Are you happy now? I didn't kill this loudmouth immediately because I thought you liked the sound of bone! I'll be offended if you don't smile like you did when you broke the man's ribs!"

Just as Nafız witnessing what happened desired revenge, the silence of the room was broken by the sound of the second kneecap breaking. The man on the ground couldn't even struggle; his pain was growing exponentially with every movement.

"Come on, you are good; one more person down! Does anyone else among you have anything to say?"

The head of the man who owned the insults a moment ago was exploded with a kick by the person who put his knees in this state. Those inside the room were very surprised because they couldn't see the blows; three kicks had found their targets almost at lightning speed.

When the Blood God moved to the side of the family cowering in a corner of the room, the leader wouldn't think much to make his decision. He stabbed his short sword into his man closest to him. This move was making the opening of the struggle; friends dreaming of gang rape just a moment ago were now fighting to take each other's lives.

Although Nafız wasn't interested in the works done by people with mediocre skills, she didn't take her eyes off them so that there wouldn't be any mishap. In the slightest suspicion, she would pull the plug on all of them.

Not even a hundred breaths had passed when the last remaining person toppled over breathlessly while pulling his hands from his friend's throat.

"Bright boy, bravo! You will see a few more sunrises!"

The words he heard created a shock effect on the former leader. Straightening up from the ground wet with his men's blood, he made a move to jump out of the dilapidated window.

"Bammm!"

With a kick he took to his waist, hitting the opposite wall didn't take even a breath. Following a loud noise, he fainted where he stuck.
