Chapter 56: Restaurant Chaos
"Officer, this resident is always acting suspiciously. Last night, he even ran upstairs with a knife hidden in his clothes. He thought he hid it well, but I have sharp eyes!"
"I saw the outline of the knife in his clothes immediately. Luckily, I remained calm and stopped him! You'd better investigate him thoroughly!"
Landlord Hansen handed Marcus the keys and, before Marcus could ask any questions, launched into a long explanation about Yamamoto.
It seemed Yamamoto was now infatuated with Tomie and had started killing.
That meant there was definitely a Tomie here!
"Don't worry, leave it to me."
Marcus nodded, took the keys, and went downstairs. He tried to open the door with the key, but it was locked from the inside.
He turned to the landlord beside him, and old man Hansen nodded knowingly, made a shushing gesture to Marcus, and rang the doorbell.
"Mr. Yamamoto, are you there? This is your landlord, Hansen."
"What is it?" Yamamoto's hoarse voice came from the small speaker on the door.
"It's about signing the renter's insurance agreement. I need you to sign it."
This old man was quite adept at making up lies.
"Understood!"
The sound of the bedroom door opening came from inside, followed by the outer door being opened a crack. Yamamoto, wearing an eye patch, peeked out through the crack.
Marcus pushed the door open forcefully, the impact causing Yamamoto to fall to the ground.
"Yamamoto, your theft on the street has been investigated. You're under arrest."
Marcus took out handcuffs from his belt and restrained the fleeing Yamamoto like a ragdoll.
"Anderson, go inside and check if there's anyone else, especially a girl."
"Mr. Hansen, you go back first. I have official business to attend to. No civilians allowed."
Marcus gestured for Anderson to go inside and search, then warned the very cooperative landlord and stood guard with his gun, ready to shoot if Tomie was spotted.
He wasn't yet clear about Tomie's charm abilities, but as long as they didn't come into close contact and the kill was quick enough, he wouldn't fall for it. He was only sure he could handle this himself.
So Anderson had to search.
"Oh, okay, okay!"
Old man Hansen didn't understand any of this. He nodded and scurried back to his house, glancing back at the end before quickly locking the door.
"Detective Moretti, nothing found, empty!"
"Since no one's here, that's fine. Anderson, I forgot to tell Detective Harper that the rookie is in danger. Take some men and go support him immediately!"
Hearing this, Anderson knew that things were alright here, and Detective Moretti's words must mean something serious was happening. He nodded solemnly and immediately set off.
Marcus closed the door and dragged Yamamoto around the bedroom and every corner of the room.
The room wasn't big, and there weren't many things. The trash can contained a pile of bloody bits and tissues, but Tomie was nowhere to be seen.
"What are you doing? Let me go! I stole it for her! I'm innocent! Let me go!"
Yamamoto struggled violently, twisting and trying to bite Marcus, but Marcus simply threw him to the ground.
Thump!
"Behave yourself!"
Marcus kicked Yamamoto in the shin.
Yamamoto spun around like a top, knocking over a nearby stool.
"Where's Tomie?"
Marcus asked, sitting down in a chair and looking down at Yamamoto.
"Tomie is mine! No one can take her away! Tomie is mine!"
Hearing this, Yamamoto, seemingly with a sudden burst of strength, sprang to his feet. He lunged forward, lunging at the toolbox on the table.
With his hands bound behind his back, he tried to use his mouth to grab the saw inside and cut open the handcuffs.
Marcus remained seated, gently pulling with his left hand, shifting the table.
Yamamoto missed, slamming face-first onto the hardwood floor with a loud thud.
Ah--!
He screamed and rolled to the side, his face covered in blood, his nose broken.
"Is this the saw you used to dismember Tomie?"
Marcus asked, looking at the bloodstained saw in the toolbox on the table.
Yamamoto didn't answer, his eyes glazed over, struggling and screaming in pain:
"Tomie is mine, Tomie is mine, none of you can take Tomie away!"
"I understand, you love Tomie so much, you're willing to give everything for her. But she's having an affair with another man, she betrayed you."
"The reason you killed her is to correct her mistake with your burning love, you did the right thing!"
Marcus stared at the unyielding Yamamoto lying on the ground and spoke slowly.
Hearing this, Yamamoto seemed to be possessed, muttering: "Yes, I'm not wrong, I just love her, what's wrong with loving someone!"
"Yes, so you have a completely new Tomie, a Tomie that belongs only to you!"
"But look, she's grown legs, she's gone out again, maybe she's having an affair with another man, no man can resist Tomie's beauty, your love... has been abandoned again!"
"Impossible, I don't believe it, I raised Tomie, I'm willing to do anything for her, she won't leave me...!"
Yamamoto completely ignored the pain, struggling to stand up, his handcuffed wrists cracking and dislocating from the violent struggle.
"You really don't believe me? Look into your heart, you know perfectly well!"
"Perhaps you should correct Tomie's mistakes again, reclaim her love. Every second you delay, she'll be flirting with another man for another second. Tell me where she is, answering me is helping yourself!"
"Tomie went to the restaurant. She said she was going to get revenge. I shouldn't have believed her. Let me go, I'm going to find her!"
Yamamoto's eyes blazed with possessiveness and obsession; he only wanted to kill Tomie again, to possess her.
"Very good, go, correct her, reclaim your love!"
Marcus was satisfied with Yamamoto's current state; this was a qualified guide.
He stepped forward and unlocked Yamamoto's handcuffs, simultaneously attaching a tracking device to the back of Yamamoto's shirt.
After being freed, Yamamoto, his eyes red, grabbed a mask and knife from the table, pulled his hoodie over his head, and staggered out the door.
Only one thought occupied Yamamoto's mind: Tomie!
Correct Tomie!
Possess Tomie exclusively.
Marcus quietly watched Yamamoto's departing figure. Next, he would test how to resist Tomie's allure and await Emma Mitchell's transformation.
Meanwhile, Tomie, in the restaurant, was unaware that Yamamoto had come to see her.
"Thank you, please come again!"
Tomie smiled as she saw off a reluctant customer. Judging from the way he kept turning back, she knew he would be back at the restaurant soon, perhaps even tonight.
Tomie was working as a hostess, wearing a black and white uniform. Beneath her smooth, black bangs were delicate features, giving her a pure and lovely appearance.
However, the beauty mark under her left eye shattered this perfect innocence, adding a touch of allure.
The heavyset boss, who had gone to the storage room to get supplies, was now sharpening his knife, the cleaver gleaming from his sharpening.
His eyes were filled with possessiveness and murderous intent, with only one thought: to dismember Tomie!
Kevin Harris waited for the boss to bring the supplies, but he didn't return for a long time. The customers were waiting for their food. He went to the storage room and noticed that something was wrong with the boss. He quickly stepped forward and said,
"Boss, if you sharpen it like that, the blade will get dull and not sharp. Let me sharpen it."
Kevin coaxed and convinced the boss to slowly hand over the sharp cleaver.
When he returned to the kitchen with the knife, it was in complete chaos.
The chef's body had three deep cuts, and a kitchen knife was completely buried in his stomach, with only the handle remaining.
"Tomie is mine, she's mine, I'm going to kill you."
"No, Tomie likes me, I won't give her to anyone, you should die!"
The prep cook and the waiter were fighting. The waiter was pinned down, his eyes already gouged out. He used his right hand to tear off the prep cook's ear.
"What the hell?! Stop fighting! Stop fighting! Let go!"
Kevin was stunned, but he still had his senses and hurriedly tried to stop them.
But the two, already engrossed in their frenzied struggle, wouldn't listen to anything. He tried to pull them apart but nearly got hurt.
Having no other option, Kevin took out his phone to call the police, but the kitchen lights suddenly went out, the dim environment startling him.
