Chapter 26 - Chapter 26 Martian Manhunter

Three days ago, in a laboratory in Colorado, Western United States.

Dr. Errol finally completed the creation of the long-desired teleporter. The design blueprints were discovered by him ten years ago in a ruin, which was said to have been left by Martians during their visit to Earth.

He was a scientist passionate about studying extraterrestrial life, always believing that humans were not the only intelligent life in this universe.

Therefore, after obtaining these technical blueprints, supposedly left by Martians, he dedicated himself to researching the technology on them.

Finally, after numerous attempts, he managed to build it!

With an excited heart, he placed a recorder with his greeting into the teleporter, then activated it.

Because the manufacturing technology originated from Mars, the teleporter's default destination was Mars.

A powerful beam of light rippled through space, instantly carrying the recorder away.

"I succeeded!"

Looking at the vanished recorder, Dr. Errol felt an indescribable excitement.

Just as he was celebrating, the teleportation beam reappeared, but it directly destroyed his teleporter.

Moreover, along with the beam, a green humanoid creature emerged.

"A Martian, it must be the legendary Martian. Extraterrestrial life truly exists."

Dr. Errol's eyes widened as he stared at the green figure in his laboratory, feeling his heart pound as if it would leap from his chest!

He had finally seen an extraterrestrial life form; his research was correct, and he would be recorded in history.

Seemingly envisioning his future prospects, Dr. Errol began to fall into an uncontrollable state of excitement.

The next moment, he felt a sharp pain in his chest, followed by a sensation of palpitations.

He realized his heart condition was acting up and immediately tried to find his pills in his jacket pocket.

Unfortunately, he couldn't control his hands at all and could only clutch his chest and collapse to the ground.

J'onn J'onzz, who had been engulfed in endless grief and indignation after witnessing his family turn to ashes before his eyes, was momentarily stunned to see humans gesticulating wildly in front of him.

He didn't understand what was happening, and then he saw the person collapse, clutching his chest.

Although he didn't understand what was happening to the other party, he realized that the human in front of him likely needed help.

But he didn't know what the other person wanted to express, so he reluctantly used telepathy on him and then learned that he wanted to retrieve pills from his pocket.

So, J'onn helped him, putting the pills into his mouth and assisting him in taking them.

After taking the pills, Dr. Errol's condition gradually stabilized.

About half an hour later, Dr. Errol finally recovered, slowly stood up, and thanked J'onn, "Thank you for saving my life!"

That one sentence made the sorrow in J'onn's heart impossible to suppress any longer.

He could save others, but he couldn't save his own wife and daughter, only watching helplessly as they turned to ashes before him.

And the culprit behind all this tragedy was his own brother, Malefic J'onzz.

Immense grief immediately overwhelmed him, and its powerful contagiousness inexplicably made Dr. Errol feel a wave of sorrow as well.

He understood that this "Martian" must have just experienced something extremely tragic.

Then his heart sank, and he couldn't help but wonder, "Could it be related to the teleportation beam I launched earlier?"

So, he tried to ask, "Are you from Mars? Can you tell me what happened?"

Just as he was asking, a corner of the laboratory, which had been affected by the teleporter's destruction, suddenly caught fire.

Seeing the flames, J'onn immediately showed immense fear.

Dr. Errol quickly took out a fire extinguisher to put out the small flame, then comforted him, "It's alright, it's alright!"

But J'onn remained curled up in a ball, radiating unspoken terror.

This made Dr. Errol entertain a conjecture that he himself found absurd: "Are Martians afraid of fire?"

However, he immediately dismissed the thought, then told J'onn, "I'll take you back to my home. You need rest. Do you understand what I mean?"

J'onn, with his telepathic abilities, naturally understood what he meant, so he nodded in agreement!

Just as Dr. Errol was about to find something to cover his head to avoid being seen by others, he saw that J'onn had already transformed into a human appearance, precisely the person standing with him in the only photo in the laboratory.

That was Dr. Errol's old friend, though they no longer worked together.

Looking at the appearance that was indistinguishable from his old friend, Dr. Errol couldn't help but genuinely exclaim, "Cool!"

Then the two returned to the car, and he had J'onn sit in the back seat.

At this point, they began a simple conversation, learning each other's names.

J'onn also confirmed his identity as a Martian to him.

However, in the subsequent conversation, Dr. Errol also discovered that something seemed amiss.

Because according to J'onn, they had just visited Earth before the disaster, but according to Earth's timeline, that should have been hundreds of years ago.

Moreover, the ruins where Errol had discovered Martian technology were very likely left by them at that time.

"No, the times don't match. This is impossible!"

While grappling with this, Dr. Errol suddenly thought of a possibility in his mind: that the teleportation beam he launched had broken through the limitations of space and time, bringing J'onn from Mars hundreds of years ago to modern Earth.

"This is too crazy!"

Errol was somewhat incredulous, but considering he had already seen a Martian with his own eyes, accepting that he had traveled through time didn't seem like such a stretch anymore!

After taking J'onn back to his home, he began to meticulously care for this seemingly fragile Martian.

Over the next few days, under Errol's care, J'onn seemed to recover his health.

Although they had communicated quite a bit, J'onn consistently refused to tell him what tragic events had befallen him.

Finally, after Errol asked once more, J'onn established a mental link with him, allowing him to witness the tragedy that had occurred to him firsthand.

"I'm so sorry. I didn't know you carried such pain in your heart."

Having relived J'onn's experience from a first-person perspective, Errol didn't know what to say to comfort the Martian.

Another night, J'onn fell into a deep sleep, and the terrifying nightmare-like scenes reappeared in his dreams. His psychic energy uncontrollably dispersed.

At this time, Zod, who was cultivating in the sky, once again felt the sorrowful cries in his mind.

This time, he composed himself and carefully sensed where the psychic energy was coming from. After tracing it back, he finally pinpointed a certain location.

"I finally found you!"

Immediately, Zod opened his eyes, and his body instantly transformed, flying towards a certain spot on the Earth below.
