Chapter 100 - Chapter 100: Oh, and he's planning to establish a Witcher Academy.

The next morning, Vesemir, who hadn't slept well all night, woke his apprentice Leo early. The two of them headed to Berengar's neighborhood, wanting to check on their former colleague.

Perhaps to Geralt, Lambert, and other Wolf School Witchers, Berengar was a somewhat unsociable Witcher, not particularly close to them.

He even returned to Kaer Morhen only once every few years in winter and didn't really identify with his Witcher status.

However, to Vesemir, all the Witchers of the Wolf School were his apprentices, personally taught by him, their Grandmaster.

While their emotional bonds might vary in depth due to the amount of time spent together, fundamentally there was no significant difference; they were all companions of the Wolf School.

As the two of them arrived near the house where Berengar was living, they saw a gaunt man with only one arm in the front yard of a house, holding a wooden sword and teaching a young boy basic swordplay.

That man was indeed Berengar of the Wolf School.

"Berengar, is that you?"

After observing from a distance for a few minutes, Vesemir remained silent, but eventually called out, "What happened to your arm?"

Hearing a somewhat familiar voice, Berengar stiffened and turned his head in surprise.

When he realized that the person calling him was his Grandmaster from the Wolf School, and Leo, the young apprentice he'd met a few times at Kaer Morhen, the expression on his face became even more complex.

As mentioned before, the number of Witchers was too small. Unless it was a fixed settlement like Kaer Morhen, even Witchers from the same school rarely encountered each other outside.

Ever since his arm was injured, Berengar had believed he would never see his Wolf School colleagues again in his lifetime, nor did he intend to return to Kaer Morhen. He had even prepared for retirement.

Unexpectedly, after only a month, he encountered the person he had the deepest connection with in the Wolf School: his mentor, Vesemir.

His gaze flickered for a few seconds, but he still led them into the house, where they talked about their recent experiences.

The house he was currently living in was arranged by Guilliman, and the conditions were quite good. There was even a young female worker who helped him clean and wash clothes.

Every day at mealtime, Caroline, who lived nearby, would bring delicious food, making his life quite leisurely.

Moreover, a few days ago, the sorceress Margareta also began treating his arm, and his recovery was imminent.

As for the treatment method, it involved directly amputating his crippled arm, taking it back to the laboratory to re-cultivate, and then reattaching it once cultivated, much like replacing a part of the human body.

The process would take about a month.

When he first heard this treatment plan, Berengar was quite startled.

If it weren't for Guilliman's guarantee, and the fact that the person on the other side was a renowned sorceress like the Headmistress of Aretuza Academy, he truly wouldn't have dared to accept such a treatment plan.

Having someone amputate his arm and then reattach it—one could only say that magic was truly miraculous.

In the medieval era, they could achieve limb replacement technology that might not even be possible in the cyberpunk era.

When Vesemir learned that Berengar's arm had been injured by a Salamandra sorcerer, and that he and Guilliman had met during that same attack, the old Witcher's suspicion of Guilliman completely dissipated.

At least they had a common enemy.

And the other person was indeed a warm-hearted good man, who even took care of disabled fellow Witchers, which was truly admirable.

When discussing Guilliman, Vesemir naturally brought up his identity as the first-generation Witcher personally cultivated by Alzur, wanting to see Berengar's reaction.

Berengar, however, had a look of sudden realization, then said to Vesemir with an expression of both shame and apprehension:

"That makes sense now, Vesemir."

"When I first met Guilliman, he had probably just recently awakened. He seemed to only know how to use Viper School swordplay and one or two Witcher Signs."

"Later, he asked me many questions about Witcher knowledge and techniques."
