Nila could hardly contain her smile as warmth spread through her chest. Watching Jaekyeon laugh and get excited earlier had been infectious. Still caught in that joy, she decided it was the perfect moment to take a refreshing shower and indulge in her nightly skincare routine.
Fifteen minutes later, she heard his familiar voice calling from the living room."Baby, I'm back! Where are you?" Jaekyeon's cheerful tone made her heart flutter.
"I'm taking a shower! Just give me a few more minutes!" she called back through the door.
His playful nature never failed to make her blush. Leaning against the door frame, he smirked. "Okay, okay, baby. Take your time. But… if you don't mind, how about we take a shower together?"
"No thanks, Mr Jaekyeon!" she said, laughing shyly. Her cheeks burned as she scolded herself for the silly thoughts running through her mind. "Just finish fast…" she muttered, trying to regain focus.
She rushed through her routine, still daydreaming about him. Meanwhile, Jaekyeon had flopped onto the sofa, casually flipping through channels until he stopped at the news.
Moments later, his phone rang with his manager, Kim, calling about upcoming schedules. Jaekyeon stood up and walked toward her room as he discussed details, unaware of the scene he was about to stumble into.
When Nila stepped out of the bathroom, her wet hair clung to her shoulders. She wore a light pink sleeveless crop top with shorts, the damp fabric hugging her softly. She froze when she saw him, still on the call. Their eyes met, and time paused as an unspoken warmth passed between them.
Jaekyeon's eyes widened, his voice faltering mid-sentence. Remembering he was still on the call, he abruptly ended it, cheeks turning pink."Uh… sorry about that," he said with a sheepish grin, his gaze lingering on her.
Nila laughed. "It's okay. I just caught you off guard, huh?"
"Definitely," he said, stepping closer. A warm silence settled between them, simple yet magical.
With a mischievous grin, he added, "Well… since we're both kind of damp, how about we just embrace the wet hair look?"
Nila felt her heart hammer against her ribs. "Only if you promise to make me laugh," she teased. And just like that, their night was filled with joy, soft laughter, and the closeness that always felt natural between them.
After the playful moment faded, Jaekyeon stood up, still slightly embarrassed. "I'm gonna take a shower," he said and left the room. Nila smiled and took the chance to tidy up, setting the bed neatly to distract herself.
A short while later, he returned with damp hair clinging to his forehead. He hesitated at the doorway before speaking."Hey, baby… can we talk about something before going to bed?" he asked quietly.
Nila frowned with concern. "Of course! What happened? Why do you look so stressed?"
"It's nothing bad, baby. I'm just sad… thinking about being apart from you," he whispered, voice cracking.
Her heart softened. "Oh, you little puppy. Come here," she said, giving him a warm hug to lighten his heaviness.
Relief washed over Jaekyeon as he melted into her arms. She held him gently, stroking his back.
"I'm here, Jaekyeon. We'll get through everything," she whispered.
He pulled back slightly, eyes glassy with emotion. "I don't want to lose you."
"You won't," she said firmly. "We're in this together. No distance can change that."
They sat in peaceful stillness, resting in the strength of their bond. As the night deepened, they whispered hopes and comfort until sleep finally took over both of them.
