"You still can't,"
he said, looking directly into my eyes. A flicker of sorrow passed over his features.
"Think of this as preparation for something you won't be able to bear. That is why I gave you this dream at the very beginning."
"Do you think it will ever end?" I asked, my voice trembling.
"Why must I only watch? Why can't I move or speak?"
I took a breath, the frustration mounting.
"You wanted me to relive my memories... do you mean I am forced to be a mere spectator?"
"You will know," he replied softly.
"Eventually, you will understand. I cannot tell you much more, but…"
He trailed off, leaving the sentence hanging in the air.
I was trapped in an endless loop—a dream within the dream of my past self. Time had lost all meaning; there was no day or night, yet I felt no weariness. In this vast, white void, there was only him and me.
I stood up and approached him.
"Why are you doing this to me?"
"Are you truly on my side? Everything you told me during our first encounter… was any of it the truth?"
He looked down at me, his massive frame towering over mine. He tilted his head slightly, and his hand reached out as if to take mine, though he hesitated.
"From the very beginning," he whispered,
"I have never lied to you."
"To you…. I could never"
