The silence that followed the thud of Ryan's head against Adrian's shoulder was louder than any of the moans or slaps from minutes ago.
Adrian didn't move at first. His gaze swept over the body briefly as he waited for the shaky breaths, the small groan, or the way Ryan usually squirmed under him. But there was nothing, just Ryan's heavy weight slumped against his skin, and he looked really fragile.
"Hey," he muttered under his breath, running a hand through his hair when he didn't get a response.
He leaned his head back into the couch, trying to contain the spike in his pulse... not from pleasure but from a sharp jolt of irritation. After a few seconds, he shoved Ryan off him rather carefully on the couch and tucked in his arms that kept falling off the edge.
