Chapter 44 - Chapter 43

Asgard – Throne Room

Loki was still in Odin's throne, legs casually crossed, illusion projection flickering in front of him as he replayed the memory of Phil Coulson saying:

"A blond hair muscle-head… Roy told me to say hi."

Loki burst into laughter again, clutching his stomach.

Loki: "Oh, brother… you truly are predictable! And ROY—by the Norns—how does he always know when to create chaos without even being present?"

He wiped a tear of laughter from his eye.

Loki: "Phil Coulson. I like him."

Earth – Jane's Home

Thor returned, humbled and quiet. Jane Foster looked at him with concern.

Jane: "Thor… what happened out there?"

Thor sighed, sitting at her kitchen table with Jane, Erik Selvig, and Darcy Lewis.

He told them everything—Asgard, Odin, Loki's tricks, his exile.

Darcy, sipping a giant slushie, raised a hand.

Darcy: "Sooo… you have a brother named Loki. Fine.

But what about your other brother? The handsome silver-haired one Agent Coulson mentioned?"

Thor's eye twitched slightly, remembering Roy calling him a "muscle-head."

Thor (annoyed but resigned): "Roy Odinson. My younger brother… adopted by Odin. Long silver hair, eyes blue like diamonds, face so perfect that even the Valkyries argue over him."

Darcy's marker froze.

Jane leaned in unconsciously.

Darcy: "So like… stupidly handsome?"

Thor: "Yes. Unfairly so."

Darcy started sketching furiously.

Within minutes, she produced a surprisingly good portrait—silver hair, sharp jawline, elegant features.

Thor blinked.

Thor: "By the Nine Realms… that is Roy."

Jane and Darcy stared at the drawing.

Their hearts thumped.

Jane (whispering): "That's not a man… that's a celestial painting."

Darcy: "Tell him to stop being illegal."

Next Day – The Pub

Thor, Erik, Jane, and Darcy sat at a wooden table while Thor drank something that would kill a mortal.

Laughter filled the room—until Thor suddenly froze.

He felt it.

The familiar pull.

The sound only an Asgardian could hear.

The Bifrost.

He stood abruptly.

At that moment, Fandral, Hogun, and Volstagg burst through the pub doors, armor dusty from travel.

Fandral: "Thor! We must return—"

Thor: "No. Odin is dead. Loki—"

Volstagg: "Odin is not dead! He merely slumbers in the Odinsleep!"

Thor's eyes widened.

Thor: "Loki… lied to me."

The three Warriors nodded grimly.

Before Thor could say more, the front windows shattered as a massive shockwave hit the ground outside.

People screamed.

The four ran outside just in time to see the Bifrost open a second time—

—and the Destroyer Armor stepped onto Earth.

Its visor glowed hellfire.

The Battle

Fandral, Hogun, and Volstagg charged instantly.

Thor: "Jane! Erik! Darcy! Go—FIND SAFETY! NOW!"

Darcy grabbed Jane's arm, dragging her back.

Thor ran forward, powerless but unafraid.

The Destroyer lifted its head—

—its faceplate opened like a burning furnace.

A obliterating beam fired straight toward Thor.

He stood firm.

Thor: "STOP! These people have done nothing! If you must take a life… take mine."

The blast struck.

Silence.

Dust settled.

Jane screamed—

but then—

A low hum filled the air.

Something responded.

The sky cracked with thunder.

Mjolnir flew across the desert like a meteor.

It slammed into Thor's hand—

BOOM.

Lightning exploded outward.

Thor rose, armor forming around him, cape billowing, eyes blazing blue.

God of Thunder restored.

Thor and the Warriors fought together, and the Destroyer fell in a thunderous explosion.

Return to Asgard

Thor stood before Jane one last time, promising he would return.

Then the Bifrost carried him away.

Back home, he stormed into the throne room.

Loki tried to hold him off, but their fight raged across the bridge.

Loki fell, hanging over the edge.

Thor: "Brother—please!"

But Loki let go.

Loki: "I did it… for you, Father."

He dropped into the dark void.

Thor shouted after him, but the emptiness swallowed Loki whole.
