Chapter 5 - Chapter #5 – Provisional Maid.

It had all begun on a calm Saturday morning. Velya had already been living there for a week and was taking care of the house chores—of course, wearing her maid uniform.

The girl was vacuuming the living room floor while Aoi lay sprawled on the couch watching television.

"…and in other news, supernatural events are still occurring in Brickline City. We still don't know whether—" said the reporter on TV. Aoi turned it off.

She stared at her own reflection on the black screen with indifference for a moment.

"Mmgh… supernatural events… bah! I don't want to hear anything supernatural anymore. I already have more than enough with…" Aoi thought, glancing at Velya as she continued cleaning the house.

Aoi let out a deep sigh, then looked back at Velya with the same indifferent expression.

"That thing… that horrible thing over there… ugh! My life used to be boring and miserable… and now, with that thing here, it's…" she brooded—when suddenly Velya interrupted her.

"I'm done cleaning!" the demon girl exclaimed, feigning innocence with a restless smile.

Velya threw herself onto Aoi, who was still on the couch, landing chest-first right on her face.

"Why don't we go out and have some fun for a bit? Or… do you think it'd be better to wait until night so it's more exciting? Hm?" she said, pressing Aoi's face into her massive breasts.

"Boring, miserable, and overwhelming…" Aoi thought as Velya kept insisting in a coquettish, playful, suffocating way.

"W–Wait! Wait! I can't breathe!" Aoi complained while trying to push Velya off her just to get some air.

Once she managed it, Aoi desperately gulped down a huge breath.

"Ugh! You're gonna kill me with those giant boobs of yours!" Aoi shouted angrily.

"Ah… sorry…" Velya replied, smiling as if she felt bad. "Maybe… maybe I should be sweeter and more gentle," she added as she knelt down and pressed her enormous chest onto Aoi's lap while she remained seated on the couch.

"I should relax… a little, right?" she whispered, gently cupping Aoi's face with her fingers in a cruelly soft manner.

Aoi simply blushed and looked away.

"What is this? Why do I feel like this?" Aoi thought as she felt her heart about to leap out of her chest and split her in half.

"No… no… I don't know what's wrong with me…" she added in a panic, saying nothing out loud.

Aoi was red as a tomato and trembling like a cold puppy. Velya noticed immediately—she knew she'd made Aoi nervous.

"Hee! Hee! You're mine! You're mine!" Velya thought maliciously as Aoi crumbled in embarrassment.

With that in mind, the demon-maid decided to keep playing with her.

"Oh! Master! Are you feeling alright? You're all red and shaking—are you sick? If you want, I can take care of you…" Velya said as she touched Aoi's forehead, pretending to check for a fever.

"Eh… ah…" Aoi whimpered. It was just a guttural sound—no words at all.

"I'm socially exhausted! I'm socially exhausted! Help! This monster drained my entire social battery in one sitting! Help! I want to cry! Aaaah! Nothing in my damn boring, miserable life prepared me for this! A dirty maid who won't stop rubbing herself all over me! Help!"

Aoi was completely overwhelmed, her mind spiraling with chaotic thoughts as Velya kept petting her and pressing herself against her suggestively at the same time.

Aoi eventually collapsed flat onto the couch, and Velya seized the moment, lying on top of her. Their faces and bodies were dangerously close.

"Calm down, master… I'm here for whatever you need…" Velya whispered, right next to Aoi's lips.

Aoi's eyes had spirals in them from how much her head was spinning. She was at her absolute limit.

"Aaaeeehhh…" she whimpered, completely frozen in shame.

Just then—ding-dong—the doorbell rang.

"Ugh… who the hell interrupts the best moment?" Velya muttered irritably as she glanced toward the door, giving Aoi a little space to breathe.

"I don't know… I don't know… but thank heaven they saved me…" Aoi thought as she babbled dizzily on the couch, Velya still on top of her.

Ding-dong. The doorbell rang again.

"I'll get it!" Velya stood up to see who was behind the door.

She peeked through the peephole. Sharon was there, accompanied by Celes.

"Hey! It's that red-haired bitch from last week!" Velya shouted.

"Huh? Red-haired bitch?" Aoi echoed, confused.

"Who are you calling a red-haired bitch, second-rate maid?!" Sharon yelled from outside the door.

"Oh crap! No way! It's my boss!" Aoi snapped awake.

"Second-rate maid is your grandma, bitch!" Velya fired back.

"Shut up! Shut up!" Aoi complained at Velya.

"But she insulted me too!" Velya whined like an innocent child.

"Silence, damn it!" Aoi snapped as she opened the door.

Aoi opened it, and Sharon entered along with Celes.

"Oh… uh… g-good morning, boss… do you need anything? Would you like something to drink?" Aoi said.

"Would you like some cyanide, you bitch?" she added silently in her mind.

"Mmm… so this is the house of my provisional master…" Sharon said as she stepped inside, scanning the place.

"Mmm… interesting…" she added with subtle sarcasm.

"Provisional master? What the hell are you talking about?" Velya asked, imposing and confused.

"Well then, little second-rate maid…" Sharon replied, a vein bulging on Velya's forehead.

"Aoi signed a contract with me, remember? And therefore, I am also her maid while she lives…" Sharon said as she approached Aoi and looked at her dangerously.

"I'd completely forgotten about your bullshit…" Aoi thought, looking away indifferently.

"So… while this girl is alive, I shall be her sweet, high-quality maid," Sharon said, her heels echoing as she stepped closer.

"Entirely at her service… and willing to do anything…" she murmured as she stroked Aoi's cheek with malicious tenderness.

Aoi swallowed hard in fear.

"Tch!" Velya grumbled as she stomped toward them.

She snapped her fingers—puff!—a small explosion erupted into a cloud of purple smoke.

Aoi coughed as the smoke swirled around her face.

"This is the contract Aoi signed with me! I'm her first maid—and the only legal one here!" Velya declared firmly.

"Mmm… I see…" Sharon said calmly, touching nothing.

"Celes," she called, snapping her fingers.

"At your service, Miss Rusthford," Celes replied, clipboard in hand.

Celes blew the whistle hanging around her neck with all her strength. After a long, ear-piercing blast that echoed even inside the house, everything went silent.

"What the hell was that—" Aoi began, but before she could finish, the ground trembled slightly.

In the blink of an eye, a swarm of sleek black luxury vehicles surrounded Aoi's house, sealing off every escape.

From them emerged a horde of lawyers in black suits and ties—a law firm fused into one entity, chanting in unison like a collective conscience:

"Contract… legality… article seventeen hundred… must be fulfilled…"

"Oah!" Aoi gasped, petrified by the sheer number of lawyers.

"Uh-huh… so you brought a bunch of lawyers to review the contract," Velya said indifferently.

"And? What's next?" she mocked.

"Mmm…" Sharon hummed. "Celes, please…" she said softly, snapping her fingers.

Her contract appeared in a cloud of red smoke.

"Yes, Miss," Celes replied, taking Sharon's contract.

She also stepped toward Velya and snatched her contract without warning.

"Hey!" Velya protested.

"Relax. Let the lawyers do their job," Sharon said coolly.

Celes blew the whistle again, and the lawyers froze in silence like a pack of trained dogs.

"Alright!" Celes said. "Here we go!"

She threw both contracts toward the lawyers, who lunged like wild beasts to catch them before they hit the ground.

The legal amalgamation read the documents, and like a computer, delivered a verdict within seconds.

"Miss Rusthford has the right to be Miss Aoi Amamiya's maid," declared one lawyer.

"Ha! I knew it," Sharon said smugly.

"Hey! That's not fair!" Velya snapped angrily.

"Well, as a second-rate maid, you don't have the right to an opinion," Sharon replied.

"Mmm…" Aoi murmured.

"Alright… if Sharon is my maid, then she's under my command as long as I'm alive, right?" Aoi asked the lawyers. They didn't answer.

"Yes. That's correct," Sharon replied confidently instead.

"Then… uh… as your… uh… master… I—I…" Aoi hesitated.

"I order you to tell Velya her part of the contract I signed with her!" she added nervously.

Celes noticed Aoi wasn't as stupid as she'd thought—and it irritated her.

"Hey! You can't speak to Miss Rusthford like that!" Celes exclaimed.

"Even if she's your personal maid, she's still your boss at the company—if you raise your voice again, I—"

"That's enough," Sharon interrupted.

"We're not at the company. The building's still under construction after last week," she said calmly.

"Alright… do your thing and talk," she directed the lawyers.

The lawyers analyzed both documents again and delivered a swift response.

"Miss D'moncraft has the right to be Miss Amamiya's personal maid, as one contract does not invalidate the other," one lawyer declared.

"What?!" Sharon roared furiously.

"Uh… yes, allow me to explain, the clauses do not—" the lawyer began, but Sharon cut him off.

"Shut up!"

She turned to Celes and spoke her name like an order.

"At your service, Miss Rusthford," the secretary replied.

Celes blew the whistle, and the entire law firm moved as one conscious mass, retreating to their cars and vanishing as suddenly as they had arrived.

Velya let out a small mocking laugh.

"Well, it seems we're both Aoi's personal maids… huh?" Velya said to Sharon, baring her fangs.

"Looks like the respected CEO of a massive multinational will have to prove she's useful for… something."
