Taiju initiated battle, clashing blades with Samui, sparks passed as their blades kissed, both swordsmen, forcing leverage.
Samui maintained her stoic expression, looking at the eyes of the lunatic enemy.
"Do you smile?" Taiju asked.

Taiju deflected her blade to her right, taking advantage of the moment he kicked her guts, putting force into the kick.
"Offf–" Samui grunted, skidding on the Earth.
"Cheap shot." She clicked.
Lightning sizzling around her blade, she pointed her left hand to a sign.
"Lightning style: arrows barrage."
Numerous lightning-induced arrows, targeted Taiju, whistling in the air, waiting to burn flesh.
Taiju focused his chakra on his blade, coating the weapon with thin blue energy, and he sent a slash at her attack. The projectile slash was able to pierce through a few arrows, but the rest continued their mark. Seeing the remaining arrows, Taiju imitated more chakra into his blade, and the blade surged with a crimson energy,
"Sword style: Demon fangs "
He announced that the crimson energy formed into a demon's mouth, fangs extended to devour the arrows. Samui's arrows were offerings to attack the still-moving to Samui.
The Kumo nin gasped but quickly retaliated, forming hand signs, and she activated another jutsu.

On the other side of the battle, Tayuya engaged in hand-to-hand combat with Karui. The two redheads traded blows, blocks, and curses alike.
The Kunoichi were evenly matched, movement in sync at every strike.

Tayuya sent a hook to Karui, who easily caught her wrist in a tight grasp, using the limb to drag her close to deliver an elbow to the Konoha nin's face.
Tayuya reacted with a kick to her knee, Karui buckled at the hit, letting go of Tayuya, who wasted no time with her leverage and drew her sword, moving the blade to her enemies' exposed neck, blade cutting the wind as it awaited its first taste of blood.

"Damn it!" Karui gritted, her instincts guided her to avoid the blow, the tip of the sword teased her neck. Her pulse skipped at her near death.
Expanding her distance from her opponent, Karui charged her blade with lightning, the fangs of nature waiting to strike.
Tayuya grinned at this display, channeling chakra around her, the blue chakra, turning a blood-red energy, Tayuya took out her flute, whistling into the instrument. The eerie tune wafted around them.

The music played, Karui halted at the disturbing tune," Darui help me shut this bitch–" Her words died in her mouth as she looked at her teammate convulsing, the Kumo shinobi was shaking hysterically, eyes bulging at a concerning rate, his stomach was bloating, and continued growing as he screamed in agony.
"Aaaaahhh!" Darui let out a gut-wrenching shriek. Her shooting out his stomach, covered in his blood and ripped intestines, her teammate stood there, eyes weeping in blood, mouth open in a silent scream.
"Darui!" Karui yelled, trying to move to her teammate but her body wouldn't move, forced to watch his demise. To her horror, Samui was suffering a similar fate. Violently scratching her skin, the blonde peeled at her own flesh in annoyance, frantically moving around, digging deeper into her own flesh.
"It hurts!" Samui yelled, scaring her body to eliminate the feeling. Karui noticed the scratches opened up, and a yellow object was peeking out of her, to the open. Maggots spurting out of her body, the disgusting creatures wiggling their way out of their host, Samui let out an ear-piercing scream, her body infested with the organisms.
Karui nearly puked at this, holding back her tears, she tried her best to understand the situation.
"T-this has to be a Genjutsu. " She concluded, trying to calm her mind at the nightmarish events, she hardened her mind and sent out a burst of chakra.
"Aaaahhh!" Karui roared, and the world cracked as the Genjutsu was being dispelled. In a flash she was back to reality, breath ragged and sweat on her forehead. Karui smeared at Tayuya.
"You bitch." She cursed.
"I know right ~" Tayuya hummed.
Karui charged at her, fully intent on killing the kunoichi who embarrassed her.

Darui sighed as he dodged the rain of senbon, deflecting them with his charged blade, he couldn't believe his luck.
" This is not what I expected from a simple rescue mission. " He muttered, avoiding the needles aimed at his nerve points.
Kin flashed in front of him, a kick aimed at his temple. Darui dodged the hit at the last second, resting his rear on his heel in an incredible show of flexibility. As soon as Kin's leg passed, he performed his hand signs, sending a jutsu to her.
Lightning style: Raijin's wrath.
He sent a mouthful of volts to Kin, a beautiful show of blue light that can take life in an instant.
Kin, hesitated for a second too long, Darui's attack still in distance.

As the sparks struck her, they scorched a bundle of snakes instead of the kunoichi.
"Substitution huh?" Darui pondered, lollipop poking his cheek.
Kin appeared by Anko's side, and the special ninjaja saved her from near-death.
"Be careful Kin, this isn't a mid-tier ninja–take him seriously. " Anko encouraged. Winking at the two-tailed Jinchuuriki, she awaited her attack. " We're going to dance, kitten?" She teased.
Yugito scowled at the nickname, " I already promised not to hurt any of you." Yugito huffed, turning her back from them.

" Shut up!" Yugito snapped.
The fights commenced as this wasn't only about Yugito but the hatred between Konoha and Kumo, years of disputes bleeding into generations, and Taiju and his squad were no different.
