Chapter 12 - 12 Tonight is party night

The early sun slipped through the narrow gap between the curtains, brushing across the messy room. On the bedside table, the alarm clock rang endlessly.

Williams groaned, reached out blindly, and grabbed it.

"It 8:30 he murmured." He dropped the clock back, turned on his side, he pulled the blanket over his head, and drifted back to sleep.

He had always seen Saturday nights as a time to have fun and party. Saturday mornings, however, were meant for sleep.

Just as sleep claimed him again, the door burst open. Mr. Adam strode in.

Without hesitation, he yanked the curtains aside.

Sunlight flooded the room.

"What the fu...!" Williams shouted, squinting as he sat up. When he saw his father standing there, his face dark with anger, he groaned and flopped back down, dragging the sheets over his head.

"Williams."His father thundered, as he

ripped the blanket away.

"What did I told you yesterday about today's board meeting?" Mr. Adam demanded.

"Dad, it's Saturday," Williams muttered lazily. "I'm tired. You guys can start without me. I'll join later."

Mr. Adam's jaw tightened. "Get up."

"Oh, come on dad," Williams snapped, finally sitting up. "You know they don't even need me there. I'm just decoration."

"You have fifteen minutes," his father said coldly before turning and leaving the room.

Williams cursed under his breath, dragged himself out of bed, and shuffled to the bathroom.

Nearly thirty minutes later, he strolled downstairs, dressed but clearly uninterested.

He dropped into a chair at the dining table, scrolling through his phone as he ate. Mr Adam said nothing, but the silence between them was thick.

After breakfast, they drove separately to Adam Empire's headquarters. By the time they arrived, the boardroom was already full.

Senior managers sat upright, documents neatly arranged on the long table, eyes trained on the door.

The moment Mr. Adam entered, everyone stood.

He took the seat at the head of the table, as chairman.

Williams slumped into a chair beside him, leaning back casually, one leg stretched out.

Without minding him, Mr Adam declared Let's begin,".

Reports followed, as they discuss about profits, losses and overseas expansion,

Another manager give details on security risks, new investments. There voices were calm, professional and measured.

Meanwhile, Williams, had one earbud in.

As he played games on his phone, occasionally glancing at the time.

Every now and then he smiled or giggle slightly over something on his screen.

Mr. Adam looked at Williams shaking his head, while his fingers tightened around his pen.

Each casual movement from Williams.... every tap and every lazy yawn, was like fuel on a fire already burning inside his father mind.

He knew dragging him into these meetings often led nowhere. Still, Williams was his only heir. Everything he had built, would one day belong to him, and he needs to learn.

And yet, here he was. Not serious with life.

After a while, boredom settled in. Williams switched from games to music, his favorite track filling his ears. His head slowly tilted back.

Minutes passed.

Then....

A loud snore echoed through the room.

Several managers stiffened. The man sitting close to him coughed awkwardly. Another avoided looking up.

Secretary Kim quickly stood up stepping forward cautiously, about to wake him, but Mr. Adam shot him a sharp glare.

Secretary Kim froze and stepped back immediately.

The meeting continued.

Williams shifted in his chair, his neck aching slightly as his head rolled to the side. The earphones slipped from one ear, hanging loosely. He frowned, half-awake, irritation already forming.

Why was it so quiet? He thought, opening his eyes slowly.

At first, he thought he was still dreaming.

The long boardroom table stretched before him, polished and cold. The high-backed chairs that had been filled with managers only hours ago now sat empty, pushed neatly under the table. The large screen at the front of the room was dark. The documents that had been scattered earlier were gone.

Williams straightened abruptly. checking his phone. It was 5:00 p.m.

His breath caught.

"No way…" he muttered, rubbing his face.

He stood up, the chair scraping softly against the floor. His eyes moved around the room again, searching if his father or Mr Kim was still around

"Nothing! they have all long gone." He complained, still looking around.

He ran a hand through his hair and let out a short laugh.

"So they really left me here."

He picked up his jacket slowly, slinging it over his shoulder as he walked toward the door. His steps echoed in the quiet space,

He left the office and got into his car, driving home.

As he drove, his fingers tapped impatiently against the steering wheel.

" Dad really left me alone in that office," he murmured with a scoff. " If I go home now, he'll start nagging again."

His lips curved into a faint smile. And tonight is party night.

If I stepped into that mansion, dad father might find a reason to ground me, especially after the board meeting. He thought.

That alone was reason enough not to go home.

With the decision made, Williams turned the steering wheel sharply and changed direction, heading for Cheongdam Luxury Avenue, the best place in the city to get exclusive outfits and personal grooming.

The moment he arrived, attendants hurried toward him. They knew him well, one of their most regular and highest-paying customers.

"Welcome, Young Master Williams."

Within minutes, he was seated comfortably, clothes laid out before him. Tailored black trousers, a fitted shirt, and a sleek jacket were selected without much discussion.

After that came light grooming, a subtle touch-up, clean lines, effortless perfection.

Less than an hour later, it was done.

Williams stood before the mirror, studying his reflection.

The handsome young man staring back at him smiled with confidence.

"Let's see which girl can resist you tonight," he murmured, adjusting his collar.

Then, a face crossed his mind.

Linda face.

That troublesome girl, what even her name. He murmured, his smile faded slightly, irritation flashing in his eyes before he scoffed.

"Tch."

Shaking off the thought, he grabbed his keys and headed out.
