Chapter 148 - [148] Vital Intel! Harry Turns to an Ally!

Harry and Ron's eyes widened instantly when they heard Argus's exclamation.

The two never expected to have such a great harvest in just one afternoon!

Ron glanced at Harry with a smug look on his face.

See?

I told you he definitely had information we didn't know!

If I hadn't dragged you here, who knows how long we would have had to wait!

"Prefect...Prefect, why are you back so early!"

Just as Argus was about to say something more, Astoria's voice rang out from the girls' dormitory corridor.

"Astoria? It's so late, aren't you going to have dinner?" Argus greeted softly.

"I...I accidentally overslept this afternoon and just woke up."

Astoria blushed slightly, scratched her head, and looked a little embarrassed.

Small dimples appeared on both sides of her cheeks.

"You didn't see it, during Defense Against the Dark Arts class this morning..."

Suddenly a commotion arose at the entrance, and the door to the lounge slowly opened.

Draco was chatting with Goyle, Crabbe, and a few others about his heroic performance in Lockhart's class.

As I was walking, it suddenly felt like I bumped into something.

I almost slipped and fell on my butt!

Did you see anything up ahead just now?

Draco was puzzled by his near fall and asked Goyle and Crabbe behind him.

The two were dumbfounded, completely unaware of what he was saying.

They shook their heads like a rattle drum.

"That's really strange..."

Just as Draco was wondering if he had encountered some invisible magical creature, he saw Argus sitting on the sofa and immediately pounced on him.

"Argus, is that you?!"

"It must have been you!"

"Stop messing around! If I want to mess with you, I don't need to secretly use magic." Argus waved his hand, and several cushions on the sofa blocked his way.

Draco bared his teeth and brandished his claws.

"You're all alone here. Who else could it be but you!"

"Hahaha..."

"Goyle, Crabbe! How dare you laugh!" Draco turned around sharply and glared at the two men when he heard the laughter.

The two were even more confused.

Who laughed?

We didn't do anything here, yet we're being blamed!

"Draco! They didn't say anything, I've been watching the whole time!" Astoria confirmed their innocence.

Draco then noticed that there was another person next to him.

He stopped playing around with Argus.

After waving hello, he looked towards the gate with a puzzled expression.

Argus immediately understood what was going on, glancing in the direction Harry and Ron had gone.

He shook his head slightly.

In order to vent their anger, they completely disregarded the consequences.

Knowing that his companion was doing something wrong, and that it might even cause his entire plan to fail, he did not stop him.

What could such a savior possibly use to save the magical world?

What can we use to defeat Voldemort?

I really don't know why Dumbledore would fight to this extent for a vague and unfounded prophecy.

"They've received intelligence that they'll be able to open the Chamber of Secrets in Slytherin tonight."

"It's time to make some small moves!"

...

After leaving the Slytherin common room, Harry and Ron ran wildly toward the stairs.

They didn't know how far they had run before they stopped.

"Harry, did you see that? I just bumped into that evil Malfoy and sent him sprawling on his butt!"

"It's a pity he didn't fight the evil Slytherins!"

"What a coward!"

"What is he afraid of! Why doesn't he dare to fight?"

"You still dare to talk! If I hadn't pulled you away quickly, you would have been exposed!"

Harry felt a chill run down his spine when he remembered Ron laughing out loud in front of Argus.

Fortunately, the other person was quite far away, so they probably didn't hear clearly.

Otherwise, given the other party's capabilities, they might not have failed to notice anything amiss!

"Tch!" Ron knew he had almost been exposed.

They were unwilling to admit their mistakes.

Harry didn't want to delve too deeply into the matter and quickly changed the subject: "What did Argus mean when he said that the little witch who died back then was guarding the first-floor bathroom?"

"I remember the Daily Prophet wrote that Hagrid was wrongly accused because a little witch died in the first-floor bathroom."

"Could it be..."

The two thought of it almost simultaneously and exclaimed in unison, "The Moaning Myrtle!"

Harry suddenly realized: "So she was the victim from back then! No wonder she's been staying in the first-floor bathroom all this time!"

"She definitely knows something about the heir. Let's go ask her now!"

Ron pulled Harry toward the first-floor restroom, but Harry stomped on the ground floor to stop Ron.

"Wait a minute! Don't rush!"

"Do you think the two of us, even if we find the Slytherin heir, can handle him?"

Having experienced the previous incident with the eight-eyed spider, Harry was noticeably more cautious.

They are very aware of their own limitations.

"What do you suggest we do? We can't just give up because we can't win, can we?"

"We can go find the Aurors, and the professor…"

"Absolutely not!" Ron immediately objected.

How could he allow his chance to shine to be stolen by Professor Auror?

Perhaps realizing his tone was a bit harsh, he quickly explained to Harry.

"Think about it, if even that evil Slytherin knows this, how could the Aurors and the professors not know it?"

Harry asked, puzzled, "Then why don't they just take matters into their own hands?"

Ron thought for a long time, and his rarely used brain finally came to a flash of inspiration!

"Parseltongue! Slytherin is a Parseltongue, and only a Parseltongue can enter his Chamber of Secrets!"

"You mean... only I can open the secret room door?"

"That must be it, otherwise the professor would have rushed into the secret room and dealt with that monster long ago!"

"That's still not right. If they knew only I could open it, why didn't they let me use my Parseltongue to open the secret room?"

"Because they're unsure if you're actually the heir! Nearly fifty years have passed since the secret chamber was last opened, and nobody knows whether the heir who opened it last time is alive or dead!"

Ron looked at Harry, sighed, and continued, "Even if it's confirmed that you're not the heir, the professors won't allow you to take the risk."

"In the end, there's nothing we can do..." Harry said, sounding frustrated.

The two fell into an eerie silence.

After a while, Harry seemed to have thought of something.

Grabbing Ron's clothes, they rushed upstairs.

"What's wrong, Harry?"

"Come upstairs with me!"

"Why are you going upstairs? The Moaning Myrtle is downstairs!"

"Not looking for Moaning Myrtle!" Harry's eyes brimmed with barely concealed excitement.

"I've thought of someone who would definitely be willing to help us!"
