Chapter 118 - [118] Sparks Fly in the Duel Club Debut

"Episkey!"

Argus really feared that Lockhart would try the same on Draco, so he preemptively cast the healing spell on him.

Draco had only suffered a minor fall and some scrapes; a single spell left him virtually uninjured.

Except for some damage to his wizard's robe.

Harry glanced at Draco, then at his own arm, and looked at Lockhart with the eyes of a wronged boy.

The people around them also showed strange expressions.

Lockhart looked at Argus with a hint of reproach, as if blaming him for not giving him a chance to make amends.

Noticing Argus's cold gaze, he instantly broke out in a cold sweat.

Oh my god! What was I just doing?!

Getting cocky, aren't you!

Is this some kind of powerful figure I can afford to mess with?!

Even a little trick from the acolytes would be enough to kill me eight hundred times over!

He gave an awkward laugh, turned his head, and looked at Harry as if nothing had happened.

He tried to justify himself by saying, "Don't worry so much, this isn't without its advantages."

Lockhart took Harry's arm and gently twisted it backward.

Harry could feel the back of his hand touching his elbow as if it were folded like paper!

"At least, you will never feel pain again, and you will no longer have to worry about fractures."

As Lockhart spoke, he glanced around as if seeking praise.

"A fracture? He doesn't even have any bones left!"

Hagrid couldn't take it anymore.

Taking advantage of his height and size, he forcefully pushed through the crowd, picked up Harry, and headed towards the school infirmary.

Draco was also carried along by several Slytherin members.

Even though he vehemently protested that he was alright, he was still sent away under Argus's suppression.

Lucius stood quietly watching all of this from a short distance away.

He only came to Argus's side after everything was taken care of.

"Thank you for your help, Mr. Grindelwald."

"It's what we should do." Argus didn't turn his head, staring straight in the direction the group had left.

He didn't speak again until everyone had disappeared from sight.

"Mr. Malfoy, didn't you find what just happened strange?"

"I can feel it." Lucius nodded expressionlessly.

"Someone has cast a Confundus Charm on the Bludger."

He's not stupid.

What just happened was clearly too abnormal.

Why did the Bludger keep following Harry and Draco?

Why did it take off again after it had already landed?

It had even smashed a deep crater in the ground!

He would never believe it if you told him that no one had secretly tampered with the Bludgers.

"Being able to cast a Confundus Charm in front of Dumbledore is not something an ordinary person can do!"

Argus reminded him softly.

Lucius seemed to realize something, his pupils suddenly contracting: "You mean..."

"No, I wasn't talking about the Hogwarts professors." Argus shook his head, giving Lucius a meaningful look.

"Mr. Malfoy, perhaps you should examine the people around you."

Argus knew that the Malfoy family had endured far more trials and tribulations than most people could bear to have survived from ancient times to the present day.

With the exception of Draco, almost all the successors throughout the ages have been shrewd and capable individuals.

No need for further explanation; just touch on the points.

After saying that, he turned and left.

Lucius was left alone, muttering to himself.

"The people around me..."

...

Time flies, and November was here in the blink of an eye.

After a Quidditch match, Hogwarts fell into a long-awaited calm.

The petrification of Mrs. Norris was as if it had never happened.

No one mentioned it again.

However, Argus noticed that Professor Sprout was spending increasingly longer periods of time cultivating Mandrake roots.

Moreover, the small animals on the Hogwarts campus seemed to have vanished; not even a spider could be seen.

"If I remember correctly, the basilisk is most afraid of the crowing of roosters."

"I need to prepare a few in advance when I go back in a while."

"The basilisk is a good thing; it might be the only one left in the entire magical world."

"It would be such a shame to die at the hands of Harry and his friends."

As Argus thought this, he passed by the hall and suddenly saw a large group of people crowding in front of the bulletin board at the entrance.

They were excitedly discussing something.

"What's going on?" Argus asked Goyle and Crabbe behind him.

Since he had last ordered Slytherins not to act alone, they had been going out in groups, including himself.

The two scratched their heads and looked at each other.

Without saying a word, they squeezed through!

Compared to the two tall, burly men, the people around them looked like bean sprouts. After a while, the two men squeezed out again and reported to Argus.

"Chief, we just saw it; it's a notice."

"The academy has established a dueling club, which holds events every Wednesday."

"This afternoon was the first time!"

"Duel Club!"

Upon hearing this news, the Slytherin members immediately perked up.

As a wizard who hasn't fantasized about using dazzling magic to elegantly defeat their opponent in front of everyone?

Normally at school, they wouldn't even have the chance to use magic, let alone duel.

Now that there was a chance to fight openly and honestly, why wouldn't they rush to participate?

A large crowd quickly gathered around, scrutinizing the parchment on the notice board word by word, afraid they might miss something that would prevent them from participating.

Draco was very interested: "Argus, do you want to join?"

"Anyway, I'm going to give it a try! Maybe I can take this opportunity to teach Gryffindor a lesson in a fair and square way!"

He wasn't the only one; many members of Slytherin shared this idea.

Gryffindor too!

However, Gryffindor was thinking about how to teach Slytherin a lesson.

Argus could only chuckle at their ideas.

Lockhart, that good-for-nothing, dared to start a dueling club?

Any Auror from the Ministry of Magic could easily take him down!

Laugh, while you could still laugh out loud.

Wait until Lockhart shows up, then let's see if you can still laugh!

As for whether or not to participate..

To be honest, Argus really wasn't interested.

However, given Snape's personality, even if he didn't go himself, he would still find a way to drag him over and teach Harry a lesson.

"We'll see when the time comes. Whether I go or not doesn't really matter."

Argus responded indifferently.

Draco glanced at him and nodded in deep agreement: "Indeed, with your strength, there's absolutely no need for you to spar with us."

"It's more like you should ask a professor!"

Looking at the notice board not far away, Draco grinned mischievously.

Argus couldn't help but sigh.

"I really don't know which professor started this club."

"What a capable and insightful professor!"
