On the second day of Transfiguration class.
As usual, Argus sat in the front row and listened attentively, while several Gryffindor students who usually liked to sit in the front row unusually chose to sit in the back.
Only the Slytherins remained around Argus.
Harry and Ron were in a worse situation; the tables around them were completely empty.
Professor McGonagall keenly noticed this, and her brows furrowed deeply.
She tapped the cup on the table with her wand.
"Quiet down."
"Today, we're going to learn how to turn animals into goblets."
"Like this!"
Professor McGonagall pointed her wand at the parrot beside her.
"One, two, three!"
"Vera Verto!"
The next second, the parrot pecking at the bread transformed into a transparent stemmed glass.
This drew gasps of surprise from countless young wizards.
Professor McGonagall enjoyed the students' shocked looks, and the sadness she felt over the ostracization of Argus and the others quietly dissipated.
"Now, it's your turn!"
"Who would like to give a demonstration?"
"Mr. Grindelwald?"
Professor McGonagall not only cared about students' grades, but also paid close attention to their daily lives.
Knowing that anyone could do this demonstration, she still called on Argus's name.
She wanted to use this opportunity to alleviate the exclusion he faced from those around him.
Argus immediately understood Professor McGonagall's good intentions when he saw her gaze.
He took out his wand and gently tapped his owl.
The fantastical scene reappeared.
To everyone's astonishment, the owl transformed into a wine glass.
The cup was also decorated with owl patterns.
Professor McGonagall nodded approvingly: "Excellent, Mr. Grindelwald."
"Slytherin, three points!"
She turned to look at Ron and walked up to him.
"Mr. Weasley?"
"Don't be nervous, one, two, three, Vera Verto!"
Having witnessed Argus's effortless demonstration, Ron was full of confidence.
He coughed a few times, signaling everyone to prepare to witness his great prowess.
Argus looked over with great interest.
If he remembered correctly, Ron's rat had been created by Peter Pettigrew using Animagus transformation.
He wondered what the effect would be if someone were to be Transfigured while in Animagus form?
Peter Pettigrew clearly realized something was wrong.
It squeaked and struggled to jump off the table.
Ron grabbed him and pinned him down!
"Quiet down, Scabbers!"
Fearing he would continue to run around, Ron even used several books to weigh down his tail.
He took two deep breaths to relieve tension.
Ron, holding his wand bound together with electrical tape, began to cast the Transfiguration spell as instructed by Professor McGonagall.
"One, two, three, Vera Verto!"
A green light flashed, and the mouse instantly changed.
However... the extent of the change seemed to be different from what everyone imagined.
The goblet was finished, but it was made of rat fur, and a long, thin rat tail was being held down under the book and kept wriggling.
It was extremely uncomfortable to watch.
"Pfft!"
Harry couldn't help but burst out laughing, and with him starting, the whole classroom erupted in laughter.
Ron's face was almost the same color as his hair.
"Alright, stop laughing!" Professor McGonagall hadn't expected Ron to be unable to even pull off such a simple spell.
The extra points that were prepared were forced to be swallowed back.
She was not Snape; she wouldn't do something so blatantly biased.
She let out a soft sigh.
"Mr. Weasley, perhaps you should consider getting a new wand."
"Professor McGonagall!"
A voice suddenly rang out, and Professor McGonagall looked in the direction of the sound.
Seamus raised his hand, his eyes filled with fear as he looked at Harry and Ron.
"I want to know, what exactly is going on with the Chamber of Secrets and the Slytherin heir?"
"Is he... actually at our school?!"
This question completely shattered the tranquility of the classroom.
Many people looked at Argus and his two companions with horrified eyes.
They paid particular attention to Argus and Harry!
Argus, needless to say, was the head of Slytherin and the most talented wizard they had ever seen.
He was perfect in every aspect.
Besides flight lessons.
It was safe to say that if Slytherin were to find a successor, Argus would be the top choice.
The reason Harry was suspected was that during the Sorting Ceremony, the Sorting Hat had said that Harry was suited for Slytherin.
They had wanted to sort him into Slytherin House.
The classroom fell into a deathly silence.
"All right."
Professor McGonagall glanced at Seamus and slowly walked to the podium.
"I don't think we should keep this from you."
"Everyone knows the history of Hogwarts. It was founded more than a thouand years ago by four founders."
"Three of them got along very well; only Slytherin's views differed from the other three."
"He believed that only pure-blood wizards were qualified to learn magic."
These words caused an uproar at the scene.
After all, most of the people at Hogwarts now were half-bloods, and some even had Muggles as their parents.
According to Slytherin's logic, they wouldn't even be qualified to step through the doors of Hogwarts.
"Before he left, he left behind a secret room, where a terrifying monster was said to have been kept."
"Only the heir of Slytherin can open it."
"The moment the door is opened, the cleansing begins."
"Such a terrifying monster – didn't Hogwarts search for it at all?" a young Gryffindor wizard asked.
Professor McGonagall patiently explained, "Hogwarts has tried to search for this secret room more than once, but unfortunately, it seems as if the secret room does not exist, and we have not found any trace of it."
After finishing these remarks, Professor McGonagall steered the conversation back to the classroom.
The class ended amidst the anxiety of countless students.
Argus's original plan was to go to the Room of Requirement to find Ravenclaw's crown.
But now, countless eyes were on him.
If they were to suddenly disappear from public view for an extended period of time, it would likely arouse suspicion.
Although he wasn't afraid of these things, he didn't want to needlessly draw fire for Harry.
Anyway, it wouldn't be long before Harry's Parseltongue was exposed, and then the people who cared about him would naturally disappear.
..
Two days later.
Quidditch pitch.
The passion of Quidditch seemed to dispel the bloody gloom that hung over everyone's heads.
Countless people cheered and shouted.
The school professors also took it very seriously, hoping to use this Quidditch match to distract the young wizards.
Apart from Professor Flitwick, who stayed behind at the castle to handle any potential troubles, all the other professors were present.
Even Dumbledore, who hadn't been seen in a long time, stepped out of the headmaster's office.
Argus had sharp eyes and spotted Lucius sitting in the professors' seats at a glance.
When he noticed the other person looking at him, he smiled and nodded in response.
Only...
In a daze, he seemed to sense a fleeting spatial fluctuation.
