Chapter 109 - [109] Chaos Ignited by a Single Trip?

Holy crap! This is a disaster!

By the time Argus realized what was happening, the number of people on both sides had reached over a hundred!

The entire corridor was packed with people; a battle was raging everywhere.

"No, if this continues, someone will die!"

Without thinking twice, Argus leaped down from the stairwell and used a levitation spell to fly above everyone's heads.

He pointed his wand at the empty space.

"Expelliarmus!"

A dazzling red light, accompanied by a tremendous tremor.

Many of those who were enraged instantly sobered up and slowly lowered their fists.

"Everyone, stop immediately!"

The loud sound reached everyone's ears, and most people stopped what they were doing.

Seeing that the group was still fighting, Argus threw several Petrificus Totalus at them.

"Merlin, what have you all done!"

Professor Sprout rushed over, followed closely by the other deans.

It was extremely rare for the four heads of Hogwarts to gather together, and this happened twice in just a few days!

Professor McGonagall was so angry that her lips were trembling.

Without bothering to reprimand the students, she hurriedly had someone take the injured wizard to the school clinic for treatment.

Fortunately, the fight did not escalate to the point of using magic. For wizards, most injuries caused by fists are not considered serious.

A few bottles of Skele-Gro and dittany were administered, and almost all the injuries were healed.

While heading to the school clinic, many people picked up and searched for their lost textbooks.

Ginny was no exception.

Even the most shameless Slytherin wouldn't dare to lay a hand on a pretty young girl who had just enrolled.

As she was picking things up, a hand with distinct knuckles appeared before her eyes.

She looked up and met Argus's blue eyes.

"These books are yours, right? I see your name on them."

Argus handed over several books, among which a black diary was discreetly tucked.

Ginny's face was flushed, whether because Argus had helped her pick up the books for the second time or because she was worried that he would see her fierce fight just now.

Argus smiled and helped her put the book into her bag.

A cold glint flashed in his eyes.

Based on Ginny's unrequited love in the original story, it won't be long before she uses this diary.

Then, under Tom Riddle's control, the basilisk was released!

Admittedly, it was shameless to exploit a little girl's crush on you and to cause countless innocent people to be hurt because of your plans.

But some sacrifices are inevitable in order to achieve one's goals.

Argus understood that, many times, he had to learn to be hard-hearted!

Everything, for the greater good!

...

After finishing with the diary, Argus's face returned to a polite and gentle smile.

After helping the students pack their belongings, he walked alone toward the school clinic.

The four deans were discussing solutions.

They were also very troubled by this matter.

The principle of "the law does not punish the masses" applies not only to the Muggle world but also to the wizarding world.

Normally, student fighting would result in point deductions and detention, but this incident clearly cannot be handled that way.

Putting aside the point deductions, just considering the solitary confinement alone, how long will it take for hundreds of people to get their turn?

It might not even be finished this year!

"Let's find out the reason from the students first!"

"It's impossible for a fight to break out for no reason."

Professor McGonagall sighed when she realized that she couldn't come up with a solution immediately, and decided to investigate the specific reasons before making a decision.

Professor Sprout was also exasperated: "Hogwarts hasn't had anything like this in years."

"Yes!"

"Perhaps someone cast an Unforgivable Curse?"

Snape's cold words made Professor McGonagall's expression suddenly turn serious.

He quickly walked up to Harry, who had been punched in the eye.

"Mr. Potter, could you tell me what just happened?"

Potter's eyes were bloodshot, whether from pain or anger: "The Slytherins are going to the pitch to practice Quidditch, but they already occupied it all day yesterday."

"And then?" Professor McGonagall asked expressionlessly.

Snape sneered sarcastically: "And then you used the Unforgivable Curse?"

"And then they started fighting!"

"Mr. Potter, I remind you, even if Slytherin occupied the court for a whole school year, that is not a reason for you to use the Unforgivable Curse!"

"What Unforgivable Curse?!" Harry was completely bewildered.

"No Unforgivable Curse used?" The professors were taken aback.

After the intense battle and Snape's analysis, they were almost certain that someone had used an Unforgivable Curse.

Harry's answer clearly surprised them.

"Then why did it turn out like this?"

"It seems like Draco tripped... then Flint said, 'Should we fight?' Ron said, 'Fine, let's fight! Who's afraid of you?' And then... the fight started." Harry seemed to aggravate his wound as he spoke, taking two sharp breaths.

Snape's lips twitched: "You mean, after all this time, the reason Slytherin and Gryffindor fought was because Draco tripped?"

The other three deans were equally incredulous.

After asking several students, they had to admit the truth.

Although Ron's subsequent actions escalated the situation, at its core, it seemed that Draco had simply tripped, causing him to stumble.

Perhaps someone did trip him on purpose, but for such a big incident to happen because of a trip was truly outrageous.

The deans felt their faces burning with embarrassment!

The situation was already difficult to handle, and now it was even more difficult to handle.

You can't fire Draco just because he fell down or Ron vomited in someone's face, can you?

Even if we hold Ron responsible for using the wand first, the punishment shouldn't be too severe.

After all, he hit himself, but didn't hurt anyone else.

Argus overheard their conversation at the door and nervously touched his nose.

This kind of thing never happened before because he wasn't there.

If he had come a few years earlier, this kind of thing would have happened long ago.

He dared not say these words aloud, but stood quietly at the door waiting for the deans to discuss the outcome.

Inside the ward, Snape's gaze suddenly turned toward Argus.

"Mr. Grindelwald, I didn't know you had a habit of eavesdropping on professors' conversations."

"You've misunderstood, Dean." Argus adjusted his expression and walked through the door.

"I'm waiting for you and the other deans to discuss a solution. This is not something a student like me should be involved in."

"You're no ordinary student, Head of Slytherin!" Snape said sarcastically.

He emphasized the word "Head" very heavily.

"Perhaps I should learn from Mr. Grindelwald how he managed to unite Slytherin so well in less than a week!"

"Dean, I was wrong in this matter, and I was willing to accept the punishment." Argus lowered his head and admitted his mistake frankly.

Snape snorted and remained silent, but Professor McGonagall frowned.

"Mr. Grindelwald, we have learned what happened and it has nothing to do with you."

"No, Professor McGonagall, as the Head of Slytherin, I bore undeniable responsibility for failing to manage the members of the House properly."

"For this, I was willing to take full responsibility for Slytherin's sins."

Argus knew that, on the surface, he had nothing to do with this matter.

But as he himself said, as the head of Slytherin, his greatest responsibility was failing to manage the members of the house well.

Rather than waiting for it to be brought up again later, it was better to admit it now.

Given Professor McGonagall's impartial character, she would never punish him for such a fabricated charge.

On the contrary, he could take the opportunity to boost the professor's favorability and the house's reputation.

"Head!"

The Slytherin members were moved to tears by Argus's words, and wished they could immediately get up and slap themselves!

The Head clearly knew nothing, yet he didn't complain at all about being implicated because of them.

He was even willing to take the blame for such a huge mistake for them!

They felt so ashamed of themselves!
