The following day, in the principal's office.
Dumbledore rubbed his temples wearily.
Two major events had occurred in the past two days, leaving him exhausted.
Needless to say, Harry had caused such a big mess that someone had to clean it up.
Fudge's arrival was expected.
But can anyone tell me what Lockhart is?
It's okay if he's a fraud; at worst, I'll just have to read textbooks like Quirrell!
What the hell are you showing off for!
They even released so many Cornish pixies into the classroom!
Thankfully, it was brought under control; otherwise, the Peeves incident from back then might have happened again!
Inside the principal's office, Fudge and Lucius each sat in a chair.
Holding a cup of black tea, he appeared to be thoroughly enjoying himself.
They didn't speak, and Dumbledore wasn't in a hurry either, happily eating the Cockroach Clusters in front of him.
Time ticked by, and Fudge was the first to lose his temper.
He had been suppressed by Dumbledore for many years, and he finally found an opportunity to retaliate. It was his limit to have endured until now.
"Headmaster Dumbledore, Hogwarts should perhaps give the Ministry of Magic an explanation regarding what happened between Mr. Potter and Mr. Weasley a few days ago."
"It's just a little trouble caused by two young wizards trying to get to school." Dumbledore's expression remained unchanged as he gently placed the Cockroach Clusters into the milk.
"Excusable."
"A minor problem? You call this a minor problem!" Fudge shouted, slamming his hand on the table.
"At least seven Muggles saw them and their photos were taken!"
"Do you know how much manpower the Ministry of Magic spent erasing these people's memories?!"
"Cornelius, it's perfectly normal for twelve-year-olds to cause trouble. Hogwarts has already punished them."
"Punishment? The punishment you're talking about is just deducting some useless house points! As the headmaster of Hogwarts, you should take full responsibility!"
Dumbledore sighed: "It was an oversight on my part; I didn't anticipate that some students wouldn't be able to get on the bus."
"I am willing to take responsibility for this."
"I'm afraid you'll be responsible for more than just this one thing, Headmaster Dumbledore!"
Lucius's sarcastic voice rang out.
"I think you need to explain to the Board of Trustees why Hogwarts professors can't even handle a bunch of Cornish pixies."
"It even resulted in injuries to many students!"
"That's right! Dumbledore, how are you going to handle this? You can't just deduct points again, can you? As far as I know, Hogwarts professors don't have the House Cup!" Fudge quickly chimed in.
Dumbledore's expression changed.
His biggest worry was that the two of them would join forces to cause trouble!
The reason for conceding to Fudge in advance was to avoid Lucius speaking up later.
Unfortunately, he was still seen through.
"This was just an accident. Professor Lockhart's teaching level is quite good."
Now that things had come to this, he had no choice but to bite the bullet and clear Lockhart's name.
"An accident?" Lucius smiled sarcastically. "You shouldn't be saying these things to me; you should be explaining them to the injured students and their parents!"
In short, he left Dumbledore speechless.
No matter how he explained, the students were still hurt.
This was not the first time this had happened at Hogwarts, but it was extremely rare.
You could count them on one hand.
"Headmaster Dumbledore." Lucius took a piece of parchment from his sleeve and unfolded it in front of Fudge and Dumbledore.
"In light of the recent series of unexpected events at Hogwarts, the Board of Governors has unanimously decided to suspend you from your position as Headmaster."
"This is a suspension order. You can take a good rest for a while!"
Fudge's smile was even broader than Draco's. He coughed twice in a mocking manner: "The Ministry of Magic also needs Mr. Potter and Mr. Weasley to be investigated. We hope you can cooperate, Headmaster Dumbledore! Oh, no, you're not the headmaster anymore."
Dumbledore's face darkened.
He thought the Board of Governors and the Ministry of Magic might use this opportunity to make a big fuss, but he never expected them to go to such extremes!
They directly dismissed their own principal!
How could he keep an eye on Harry and help him grow if he wasn't at Hogwarts?
The only thing that made him feel fortunate was that the Voldemort issue was temporarily resolved. If Voldemort were still at Hogwarts, this suspension would have been a real problem!
He silently accepted the suspension order, read it carefully several times, and then looked up and said, "I need some time to pack my personal belongings."
"No problem! As long as it can be finished by tomorrow morning."
Lucius stood up with a fake smile on his face and straightened his clothes.
"Headmaster Dumbledore, Minister Fudge, the Board of Trustees has issued a notice. The Malfoy family has some matters to attend to, so I will take my leave now."
Fudge grinned. "Now that the Ministry of Magic has finished its announcement, I should be going too."
"Headmaster Dumbledore, you don't need to see us off. Hurry up and pack your things."
"If you can't find a place to stay for the time being, the Ministry of Magic can help!"
In just a few words, the smugness of a petty person who has achieved success was vividly portrayed!
After the two left, Dumbledore sat heavily in his chair.
All the principals in the wall portraits came out.
"Albus, are you really leaving? What will happen to Hogwarts after you leave..."
"What can we do if we don't leave? Didn't you see? The Malfoy kid even brought out a suspension order. He's clearly prepared. If we don't leave this time, next time it'll be an expulsion order!"
"But now Hogwarts..."
"It's alright, nothing will happen at Hogwarts anytime soon, I'm just leaving temporarily."
After Argus took the diary, all the events of the school year were abruptly halted.
The entire Hogwarts was unusually quiet.
Otherwise, Dumbledore wouldn't have agreed so readily.
"I still have a few old friends. I'll go visit them later; maybe they can put in a good word for me."
Dumbledore exhaled a breath of stale air, stood up, and grabbed Fawkes's hand.
He suddenly disappeared from the office.
...
After leaving the headmaster's office, Lucius made his way to the Great Hall of Hogwarts.
They happened to run into Argus, Draco, and others who had just finished their class.
Upon seeing his father approaching, Draco waved his arms and excitedly went forward.
"dad!"
"Draco! You've forgotten everything I taught you at home, haven't you?!"
Hearing his father's reprimand, Draco retreated, looking dejected.
Lucius's expression immediately changed when he saw Argus.
He greeted him respectfully.
"Mr. Grindelwald, thank you for taking care of Draco at school."
"You're too kind, Mr. Malfoy."
Argus answered politely, glancing in the direction Lucius had come from, a hint of inquiry in his eyes.
Lucius's expression turned serious, and he gestured for Draco to leave.
After Draco had walked away, turning back every few steps, he finally took out Dumbledore's suspension order from his sleeve.
"I am here on orders from the Board of Trustees to announce the suspension of Dumbledore's position as Headmaster."
"Suspend the principal!"
Upon hearing this, Argus' pupils contracted slightly.
He immediately realized that the situation was dire!
