Chapter 80 - [79] Trials of Magic Unleashed

Under Argus's command, the Slytherins filed in.

Unlike Muggle exams, Hogwarts exams require both written tests and practical application of skills.

Students need to pass both to pass the exam.

The first exam was on Charms.

Professor Flitwick was quite tolerant of his students, and the questions he set weren't particularly difficult.

But for most young wizards who aren't particularly fond of studying, they are still enough to make them scratch their heads in anxiety.

The classroom was already set up with parchment and quills, and anti-cheating spells had been cast on them.

To prevent students from leaking exam questions, it is common practice to hold a unified written exam across the four houses.

Professor Flitwick announced the start of the exam.

The only sound in the large classroom was the scratching of pens on parchment.

As expected, Argus was the first to finish the written test, and amidst the envious gazes of the crowd, he handed the parchment to Professor Flitwick.

"A perfect answer!" Professor Flitwick exclaimed dramatically after taking a few glances at it!

"Mr. Grindelwald, I hope your use of spells will bring me even greater surprises in the future!"

"As you wish, Professor Flitwick!"

Argus bowed slightly and strode out of the classroom.

Unlike Argus, Hermione always agonizes over her answers, striving to write the perfect response.

Even though she, like Argus, had memorized the first-year textbook perfectly, she still waited until almost the end of the year to hand in her test paper.

As soon as Hermione stepped out of the exam room, she couldn't wait to huddle up to Argus and go over the questions.

She looks exactly like a top student who has just finished an exam and was checking the answers.

Argus really wanted Hermione to stop competing with him.

But thinking about it again, the person who was most competitive... seemed to be him.

Not far away, Draco, Goyle, and the others stood trembling, not daring to say a word.

Although they had Argus's assurances, they knew for themselves what they had learned.

If they actually manage to bring one or two Ts home, their elders could strangle them without Argus even having to say a word.

"Alright, the exam is over, so let's not dwell on it anymore."

Argus smiled and comforted the dejected little witch in front of him.

Hermione pouted, her eyes filled with resentment: "If I had a few more minutes, I could definitely write down all the answers in the book."

"The parchment provided too little space; it wasn't enough to write on!"

Professor Flitwick quickly rearranged the classroom.

Following the original order of the house selections, everyone was led into the classroom to take the exam.

The exam was very simple; all you had to do was make a pineapple tap dance across the desk.

After saying that, Professor Flitwick waved his wand, and pineapples appeared one by one on everyone's table.

For an ordinary first-year wizard, it might take some thought to figure out what spell to use, but for Argus, it couldn't be simpler.

With a few gentle taps of the wand, hands and feet slowly grew from the pineapple, and it was wearing a pair of exquisite dancing shoes.

Accompanied by the rhythm of clapping its hands, the pineapple used its round figure to show everyone what true dancing is all about.

Its graceful dance steps, combined with its endearing clumsy movements, made Professor Flitwick laugh heartily.

"That's fantastic, Mr. Grindelwald!"

"It's a shame you're not a Ravenclaw student. With you here, I can have a lot less to worry about!"

Argus smiled but did not respond.

With his example, the other young wizards felt that perhaps the exam wasn't as difficult as they had imagined.

But when they actually started doing it, they realized that the exam was not easy at all!

It's clear that Argus and them are not on the same level!

The smarter ones will choose to stop temporarily and rethink, since there's no time limit for the exam anyway, and taking it slower is better than failing the exam.

There are a few people who just won't accept it.

For example... Ron!

Children of this age love to be in the spotlight, so how could he just stand by and watch Argus take the lead?

"Evil Slytherins! All they know is Dark Arts!"

He glared angrily at Argus, then picked up his wand and pointed it at the pineapple in front of him.

However, without Hermione, the would-be saviors' strength and achievements are far inferior to those in the original story.

They might not even be able to unleash the magic spells taught by the teacher in class, let alone pass the exam!

Bang!

With a muffled thud, the pineapple in front of Ron instantly sprouted seven or eight legs, and like a giant octopus by Hogwarts Lake, it bared its fangs and claws and charged toward the surrounding young wizards.

The other young wizards were startled, and the pineapple, which had just undergone a slight change, instantly reverted to its original form.

More importantly, his pineapple disturbed Hogwarts's explosive genius!

Bang! Bang bang!

The pineapple on Seamus's table exploded, and the orange-yellow flesh even splattered onto Professor Flitwick's face.

"Scourgify!"

Professor Flitwick, being a dueling champion, reacted extremely quickly, immediately clearing the affected table and preparing a new pineapple for the young wizard.

"Professor Flitwick, this was an accident, please give me another chance!"

Realizing he had almost caused trouble, Ron quickly pleaded for leniency.

Unfortunately, it was too late!

Professor Flitwick, though gentle, does not indulge in excessive leniency.

One exam is over, and the next one is just around the corner.

Professor McGonagall's serious expression made many young wizards' hearts skip a beat.

The Transfiguration exam is not as simple as the Charms class.

After the written test, Professor McGonagall asked them to turn a mouse into a snuffbox; the more exquisite the box, the higher their score.

With Argus's shapeshifting abilities, completing the exam wouldn't be difficult; he just needed to think about what kind of snuffbox would be considered exquisite.

After a brief brainstorming session, Argus first transformed the mouse into a sophisticated silver-gray box, and then began carving patterns onto the box.

Hogwarts Castle, shrouded in smoke; the Black Lake, rippling with gentle waves.

A giant octopus can be faintly seen swimming inside.

"Professor McGonagall, I'm done!"

After doing all this, Argus raised his hand in acknowledgment.

Professor McGonagall was not surprised by this; in fact, she took it for granted.

But when she actually saw the snuffbox made by Argus, she couldn't help but stare in disbelief.

"Mr. Grindelwald, your talent is truly amazing!"

"I never imagined that a first-year wizard could understand the essence of transfiguration!"

"It is thanks to your excellent teaching," Argus said modestly.

"Mr. Grindelwald, there's no need to be so modest."

"No matter how good the teaching is, it is impossible to complete without talent."

Professor McGonagall took out a quill pen and drew a big O after Argus's name.

"Alright, Mr. Grindelwald, stop putting pressure on the young wizards."

"Hurry up and prepare for the potions exam this afternoon. Miss Granger won't easily hand over the top spot in the year to you."
