Chapter 79 - [78] Filch's Tearful Christmas Surprise and the Exam Storm Ahead!

The secret passage that Argus entered using the Marauder's Map did not lead directly to the Slytherin common room.

Instead, he entered the castle corridor.

He bumped into a skinny cat walking towards him.

"Mrs. Norris?" Argus did not show fear like a typical young wizard, but instead stepped forward and patted its head.

"I'm sorry, I didn't prepare fried fish for you today."

"Isn't Mr. Filch with you?"

Speak of the devil, and he shall appear.

Filch's heavy footsteps sounded, and his originally gloomy face immediately softened the moment he saw Argus.

"Hello, Mr. Filch."

Argus explained, "You tried to visit me a few days ago for Christmas, but I couldn't find you."

"Looking for me?" Filch asked, puzzled.

Argus pulled a small box from his pocket, took out his wand, and pointed it at the target: "Engorgio!"

The small box returned to its original shape, and exquisite patterns slowly emerged.

"This...this could be..."

Filch's voice trembled slightly as an unbelievable idea popped into his head.

Argus smiled and handed over the gift box.

"Merry Christmas, Mr. Filch."

"This is a Christmas present for you. I hope you can forgive it for being late."

"Really... really for me?"

Filch accepted the gift, his hands trembling uncontrollably.

Over the years, holidays have been the most difficult times for him.

Everyone was celebrating, chatting with friends, and exchanging gifts.

Except for him! He's always alone.

Only Mrs. Norris was with him.

Moreover, he has worked at Hogwarts for so many years and has never heard a word of thanks or respect from him!

Not to mention receiving Christmas presents!

Thinking of this, Filch's eyes welled up with tears.

"Thank you... thank you for your gift, Mr. Grindelwald!"

"Don't be shy, open it and take a look, Mr. Filch."

"Great!" Filch had never felt so excited.

He opened the gift box with trembling hands.

Inside was a thick coat, made of high-quality material but not overly luxurious.

It would be perfect for Filch to wear during his nighttime patrols.

"Try it on, Mr. Filch."

Filch could barely speak properly; he hurriedly put the lantern down and put on the coat.

The clothes are thick and warm, providing a touch of warmth even in the cold winter.

"Perfect for you, Mr. Filch!"

"It's getting late, so I'll be going now! See you tomorrow!"

Argus had only taken a few steps when Filch suddenly called out from behind him.

"Mr. Grindelwald!"

"You are a truly respectable wizard!"

"Thank you for the compliment, Mr. Filch. Sweet dreams."

The next day.

After Argus woke up, he wrote a letter to Vinda, asking her to send someone to Hagrid's cabin to pick up Norbert.

He then arrived at the Great Hall of Hogwarts.

The Gryffindor students did not show much shock after noticing the change in the House Cup hourglass.

Or rather, they've gotten used to it.

Only Ron stared at Argus through gritted teeth.

Argus didn't care about this.

You've almost ruined the Weasley family's reputation all by yourself, and you still have the nerve to cause trouble!

If it weren't for Dumbledore's consideration for your parents, he would have kicked you out long ago!

I wonder if you'll encounter Quirrell feeding in the Forbidden Forest again tonight.

However, that has nothing to do with me.

...

Time flies.

June arrived quickly, and the weather grew hotter and hotter, but the witches of Hogwarts did not dress more lightly.

At Dumbledore's request, Harry, guided by Argus, finally found a clue about Nicolas Flamel.

Unfortunately, before he could explore further, an important event changed his next goal.

Final exams are coming soon!

Without Hermione, Harry and Ron are completely clueless!

The approaching final exams also made the atmosphere in the entire castle oppressive.

During this period, neither Harry nor Draco came to see Argus the most.

On the contrary, it was Hermione who was assigned to Ravenclaw.

Both being top students, Hermione and Argus reacted very differently to exams.

Argus was nonchalant, while Hermione was unusually nervous, fearing that something might go wrong with her.

If she weren't worried about taking up too much of Argus' time, she would have wanted to pester him with questions 24/7.

"Argus, final exams are coming up soon, why aren't you nervous at all?"

At the Slytherin table, Draco, looking distressed, complained to Argus.

Pansy pouted: "Draco, Argus goes to the library every day after class, and he's probably in his final year of school by now."

"You think everyone is like you, spending all their time after class with the Quidditch team and not even doing their homework properly."

Draco let out a painful howl.

"Argus, why don't you cast a Confundus Charm on me and make me take my final exams?"

"Alright, stop howling. You'd be better off reading a book instead."

Pansy said with dissatisfaction.

"Don't make a fuss, the notes have already been prepared for you. They contain all the key points for first grade. As long as you study hard and memorize them well, you can still get an A or an E!"

Argus put down his knife and smiled to reassure the two of them.

Having experienced the exam-oriented education of his previous life, dealing with this kind of exam was a piece of cake for him.

The biggest advantage of traditional exam-oriented education is that while others are learning knowledge, you are learning to take exams.

Perhaps I'm no match for you when it comes to real skills, but when it comes to exams, I might not be any worse than you!

Argus himself may not need these things, but that doesn't mean others don't.

Goyle, Crabbe, and even Draco, who is obsessed with Quidditch, all need urgent tutoring.

"I'm telling you, I can help you with this exam, but you have to catch up on all your homework during the holidays."

"If I find out you're slacking off, you know what will happen!"

"Argus, I love you!"

Draco was extremely excited and hugged Argus tightly, which earned him a disgusted look from Argus.

"Get out of here, I don't have that kind of hobby!"

...

Before the exam.

The first-year students looked nervous, while the seasoned upperclassmen were completely unconcerned.

They even had the time to tease them.

Argus stood on the high platform, facing a group of Slytherin freshmen.

"Today is our first exam at Hogwarts, and I hope everyone will give it their all."

"I can allow you to fail, I can allow you to fail."

"But there's one thing: absolutely no cheating!"

"Remember, you bear the honor of all Slytherin!"

"Yes, Chief!" The voices of the little snakes attracted a lot of attention.

Argus nodded slightly: "Don't worry, I've already summarized the key points for this semester in my notes."

"As long as you memorize it diligently, passing won't be a problem."

"Go in!"
