Chapter 58 - [58] Voldemort's Fury and Lucius's Arrival

Voldemort paused for a moment, his expression becoming even more gloomy.

Yes, he knew all too well that after his death, almost all the truly loyal Death Eaters were purged.

All that's left are opportunists!

Do people like Barty Crouch Jr., Gemma Farley, and Bella have no connections?

If they wanted, they could have easily escaped this predicament by using their power and connections, just like Lucius or Karkaroff.

But they didn't!

They resolutely chose to uphold their identity as Death Eaters.

Compared to them, Snape's credibility is indeed questionable.

"After the last operation, Dumbledore was on guard. What you want may have been moved elsewhere."

"Continuing this course of action would be counterproductive."

Argus observed Voldemort's expression and continued speaking.

"You dare disobey my orders!"

Argus's words further enraged Voldemort, who was already in a bad mood.

With a wave of his hand, he unleashed a spell, intending to teach him a lesson.

The ghastly green light shot straight into Argus's face.

Argus wasn't going to be as foolish as those Death Eaters and just take it.

He clenched his wand and retaliated with Expelliarmus!

Voldemort was now much weaker than when he first encountered him.

During this period, even in the original story, Voldemort needed to drink the blood of unicorns to survive, not to mention that he also had to teach magic to Argus while frequently appearing in public.

The weakness had worsened!

Sizzle!

Two beams of light collided violently inside the classroom!

Argus forcefully flung the red beam of light emitted by the Disarming Charm!

With a loud explosion, a large crater was blown into the office floor.

Voldemort could not tolerate anyone defying him. He stood up, a dangerous smile on his face.

"It seems my dear disciple thinks he's quite capable."

"How dare you lay a hand on a teacher!"

Argus smiled faintly as he gazed at the magical light emanating from Voldemort's wand.

"Teacher, given your current state, you should conserve your magic."

Voldemort laughed in fury: "Are you threatening me?"

"I wouldn't dare; they're just some small suggestions."

Voldemort stared intently at Argus for a long while before sitting back down in his chair.

Some time ago, he had already realized that he could no longer fathom the strength of Argus.

The questions he asked through Argus, and the answers he gave.

At least he could calculate the other party's progress.

But now, as Argus' questions became more in-depth and his ideas became increasingly imaginative, even he was occasionally amazed by the other party's ideas.

Voldemort was completely clueless about the extent of the other party's research!

He was tyrannical, not stupid!

He knew his own limitations all too well!

Even though he didn't know Argus's strength, he knew that with the other party's talent, his progress was far beyond his imagination.

If he acted rashly, even if he won, the consequences would be unbearable for him!

Having figured this out, he concealed his murderous intent.

His gaze swept coldly toward Argus.

"Make a note of what happened last night!"

"Tonight, you'll come with me to the Forbidden Forest."

"Yes, respected teacher!"

...

In the afternoon, at the Quidditch match venue.

Although there were some unpleasant little incidents yesterday.

But this did not dampen the young wizards' enthusiasm for Quidditch.

Compared to the laid-back Hufflepuff and the Ravenclaws who spent all their time in the library.

The rivalry between Slytherin and Gryffindor, which was inherently fierce, was far more exciting and attracted more attention than usual.

The Slytherin Prefects, all in the first row, gazed intently at the players on both sides in mid-air.

At the same time, a platinum-blonde man dressed in a magnificent wizard's robe and carrying a bright silver cane slowly walked toward Slytherin.

Hearing footsteps behind them, the Slytherin Prefects turned around and quickly went to greet the person in front of them.

"Hello, Mr. Malfoy!"

"Dear Mr. Malfoy, it's a pleasure to meet you."

"Mr. Malfoy, Gemma Farley sends her greetings."

A series of slightly obsequious voices rang out.

Not only the Slytherin Prefects, but even ordinary students were alarmed and came over to make their presence known.

Even among the Sacred Twenty-Eight, the Malfoy family is considered to be among the most powerful.

As the head of the Malfoy family, Lucius's position was one that even their fathers had to treat with utmost care.

Not to mention these children.

Lucius simply nodded in response to the greetings from the crowd.

His expression was indifferent; he didn't even glance at them.

He would only occasionally reply to these people chattering away in front of him.

But when Argus appeared before him, his arrogant expression immediately turned into deep respect.

"Mr. Grindelwald, it's been a long time!"

Argus smiled politely: "Long time no see, Mr. Malfoy."

"I never expected you to come and watch Draco's game in person. I'm truly flattered!"

"Draco is my friend, and I promised him I would come."

"It is an honor for the Malfoy family to be your friend."

Looking at Lucius, who was completely different from before, a group of Slytherin members wore wry smiles.

They had only read about Argus in the newspaper before, and although they were shocked, he was still someone from their school.

Since he was surrounded by classmates, he didn't really notice anything unusual in their interactions.

Even now, people whose fathers needed to flatter him were so obsequious before Argus!

The stark contrast made them momentarily unable to believe their eyes.

"The Malfoy family's business must be doing well lately, right? I heard from Vinda that you've provided quite a few channels recently."

"Not at all, just a few connections, nothing compared to you."

Lucius adopted a very humble attitude, perfectly demonstrating the Malfoy family's tradition of seeking profit and avoiding harm.

Their conversation ended only when fireworks, symbolizing the start of the competition, lit up the sky.

"Mr. Grindelwald, I'm going to say hello to an old friend. Would you like to come along?"

"No... no need, I'll just go with my classmates."

Argus certainly knew who Lucius was referring to as his old friend.

Snape!

The two were from the same school and were both Death Eaters, and had known each other for many years.

In his previous life, he had heard many people say that Snape was Draco's godfather, and after arriving in Slytherin, he even asked Draco about it.

All that answered him was Draco's bewildered gaze.

Thinking about it carefully, it made sense. In the original book, Snape's attitude towards Draco could only be described as taking care of an old friend's child, at most just being a little more agreeable.

While he was pondering this, the match on the field had already begun.

With a whistle from Madam Hooch, the Quaffle and the Bludgers shot out at the speed of light.

Draco stood in mid-air, dodging the Bludgers while observing his surroundings, trying to find the Golden Snitch as quickly as possible.

The moment he saw Lucius and Argus, his smile became noticeably brighter.

Just as he was struggling with how to steal the spotlight, a sudden change occurred!
