Chapter 57 - [57] Percy's Crushing Guilt and Voldemort's Vengeful Fury

Argus brought the notebook and handed it to Percy.

Strangely, even though it was his own notebook, Percy felt it was burning hot to hold.

The mocking looks from those around him made his face burn.

When his younger brother had done something wrong, the other party not only didn't ask for compensation, but also generously forgave him.

My only request is to borrow a few of my notebooks!

As a result, he had even come to ask for it himself.

For the first time, Percy truly regretted his impulsiveness.

He met Argus' clear gaze...

Okay, I feel even more guilty now.

"Um… Argus, actually, I'm not in a hurry anymore. If you haven't finished reading it, you can keep it…"

Percy stammered out a sentence.

"Tch, they've already come to our door asking for it, and you're still saying this? How hypocritical!"

Alexia curled her lip in disdain, which only made Percy more ashamed and indignant.

"You've misunderstood, Alexia."

"It's a book I told the Weasley twins I was going to return. I was planning to deliver it myself, but Percy coming to pick it up saved me a lot of trouble."

Argus offered a brief explanation for Percy, which eased his embarrassment somewhat.

Percy looked at Argus gratefully.

"I have some notes. I'll tidy them up tonight and bring them to you tomorrow."

"If...if Ronnie...never mind!"

"See you tomorrow!"

Percy wanted to say something, but the words caught in his throat and he didn't know how to say them.

I'm telling you my brother is stalking you, so watch out?

Or is it that my brother just slandered you to Professor Snape and I'm apologizing to you in advance?

He bet that if he said that, it would spread throughout the entire Hogwarts in less than two days.

After Percy left, the other Prefects, seeing that it was getting late, also returned to the lounge.

As soon as Argus entered the room, Draco rushed over.

"Argus! You'll be coming tomorrow, right?"

"Tomorrow? What about tomorrow?" Argus didn't react for a moment, but Daphne, who was not far away, explained it to Draco.

"Tomorrow's Quidditch match between Slytherin and Gryffindor will be Draco's first official appearance."

"He's been pestering us for ages, wanting us to go and cheer him on."

"Argus, you don't even know something this important!"

Draco was somewhat dissatisfied, and Argus shook his head helplessly.

"You forgot, I can't use a flying broom."

"Naturally, I don't care about these things."

Draco, as if waking from a dream, stammered, "Argus, I didn't mean that, I...I..."

"I know, it's okay."

I'll come cheer you on tomorrow!

Argus patted Draco on the shoulder to comfort him.

If he remembers correctly, Quirrell would try to make Harry fall off his flying broomstick in the Quidditch pitch.

Snape saved him.

He wondered if Harry, who was currently just a substitute player, would have any more opportunities to play.

...

The next morning.

The atmosphere at the Gryffindor and Slytherin tables was clearly tense.

For students, Quidditch was a big deal.

What's more, it concerned the House Cup!

Teenagers had a strong sense of collective honor. Even if they didn't say anything openly, they were silently cheering for their House.

Because it was Saturday, the young wizards who didn't have classes seemed even more excited.

When Argus arrived at the Slytherin table, a group of Quidditch players, led by Marcus, were gathered together, preparing to discuss tactics after their meal.

Not far away, at the long table in Gryffindor, a group of lion cubs were annoyed that another piece of the House Cup hourglass had fallen off.

Harry and Ron lowered their heads guiltily, trying their best to cover it up.

But Snape would never give them that chance!

"Good luck, Potter!"

"On the other hand, since you dare to go to the restricted area on the third floor, Quidditch should be a piece of cake."

"Even if the opponent is... Slytherin."

"Oh, I forgot, you seem to be just a backup Seeker, whether you'll actually get to play... is still uncertain."

After saying that, he turned and left without the slightest hesitation.

Harry and Ron were left dumbfounded.

They didn't sleep well all night because of this, and didn't dare to say a word, for fear that others would find out.

We were almost able to cover it up, but you exposed us!

The Gryffindor lion cubs looked displeased and glared at the two with contempt and disgust.

If it weren't for the relationship between Ron, Percy, and the Weasley twins, they would have been killed by someone who put them in sacks and attacked them.

After two months of torment, Ron's skin had become much thicker than before.

He could still eat.

Anyway, if you have a lot of lice, you won't be afraid of being bitten. This kind of situation was okay once or twice.

You got used to it after a while.

Harry's eyes were fixed on Snape's injured leg, and his mind involuntarily drifted back to the scene with Hagrid in Gringotts before he entered school.

Hagrid seemed to have taken something very important from there.

Could it be that... Professor Dumbledore left the item on the third floor, and Snape took advantage of the troll rampage last night to steal it!

He quickly shared his thoughts with Ron.

Ron's eyes widened!

"That must be it!"

"That evil Slytherin, together with Snape, wanted to steal Dumbledore's treasure!"

"We clearly saw him last night, but he disappeared on the third floor. Snape must have helped him!"

Harry was stunned.

He only mentioned Snape, what did that have to do with Argus?

But on second thought, what Ron said wasn't entirely unreasonable.

Argus had truly vanished from their sight.

Besides Snape, there was no other suspicious person at the scene who could help cover it up!

"Eat quickly, and after we finish, we'll go find Hagrid and ask him what they're trying to steal!"

Ron was thrilled and urged him on impatiently.

Harry shook his head: "No, I need to discuss tactics with Wood later. Let's go find Hagrid after the match!"

On the other side, Argus, holding a knife in one hand and a fork in the other, elegantly cut a piece of bacon and egg and put it in his mouth.

Suddenly, he felt as if he had something extra in his arms.

His expression remained unchanged as he glanced around out of the corner of his eye.

He saw Professor Quirrell walk past the Slytherin table.

He understood.

He calmly put down his knife and fork and walked out of the hall.

Only when he reached a quiet, secluded corner did he quietly reach into his robes.

Inside was a note with only one sentence written on it.

"Come to my office."

The next second, flames erupted, completely engulfing the note.

"You're going to cause trouble again! Can't you just behave for a few days?"

Argus made his way to Quirrell's office.

There was no one inside.

After waiting inside for quite a while, Quirrell finally pushed open the door and went in.

His expression gradually changed the moment he saw Argus.

His original timidity transformed into coldness and power.

Where is what I asked for?

"I was being followed and didn't get it."

Argus's straightforward reply surprised Voldemort.

He had expected Argus to try to argue his point in various ways, but the sudden direct approach surprised him.

"Being followed is your excuse?"

Voldemort's tone turned dangerous, and a violent aura emanated from him.

"Didn't you get it either?"

Argus replied calmly, showing no fear whatsoever despite Voldemort's change.

How did you know I went there?

"You don't seem like the kind of person who would put all their eggs in one basket with a little kid like me."

"Besides, as you can see, Snape is inside. If I go in, I'll just be dead anyway."

"Snape is my loyal servant! Just reveal your identity to him…"

"Teacher!" Before Voldemort could finish speaking, Argus interrupted him.

"You know better than I do that your faithful servants are all in Azkaban right now!"
