Chapter 19 - Not a WWE Ring

The warm sunlight was spread across Anya's courtyard.

Smiling softly, Anya adjusted her bag—the silver threads Zain had gifted her last night were still shimmering in her thoughts. But the moment she turned the key of her old scooter, all her excitement turned into bitterness.

Parked outside the simple house across the street was a shiny red sports car, looking nothing less than a miracle in that old neighborhood.

Suddenly, a sharp voice echoed from the window of the house.

Fengning:

"Eww! Have I lost my mind? These walls… this paint… I can't even breathe here! My walk-in closet is bigger than this entire matchbox of a house! Where am I supposed to keep my designer shoes? On the floor?!"

Anya lowered the scooter stand again and stared in disbelief.

On the balcony stood Fengning, dressed in a gown worth thousands of dollars, but her expression looked as if she were staring at a pile of trash.

Anya (muttering):

"Wow! Another rich girl who can't keep her feet on the ground. 'Rat hole,' huh? Madam, people spend their entire lives just to have a roof over their heads. If you love palaces so much, then why did you come here? Huh… looks like there's a huge gap between her brain and her wallet!"

With a loud hmph, Anya put on her helmet, started her scooter, and sped away, raising dust behind her.

Fengning's 'Master Plan'

Inside, Fengning angrily threw her expensive bag onto the sofa. She took out her phone and opened Lu Wei's profile.

"Message Not Delivered."

"Blocked."

The red signs irritated her.

Fengning (with a sly smile):

"Alright, Lu Wei! If you've shut the doors, I'll enter through the window. You block me, and I'll settle into every vein of your life. Your weakest link is your sister Anya… and I'll become such a perfect best friend to her that you won't be able to delete me from your life, no matter how hard you try. Your mother's cooking and the tea of your house—just a matter of a few days, Mr. Lu Wei!"

Commotion at the Office: 'Red Threads and Pink Cheeks'

At the office, Anya sat at her desk, but her mind was still stuck on that "girl with the red car."

Just then, Zain stepped out of his cabin. His presence alone seemed to change the temperature of the entire office.

Zain (stopping by Anya's desk):

"Miss Anya, I hope those threads helped your creativity take flight."

Anya froze. Her ears turned red.

Anya:

"Yes, sir… they're really precious. I'll use them in my best design."

As Zain walked ahead, Huan Jing pulled Anya's chair closer and whispered,

Huan Jing:

"Ohh! 'Precious threads' or 'precious boss'? Look at you, Anya—Boss turns so soft the moment he sees you. He's looking even hotter today. Be careful, don't melt!"

Anya (hiding her face behind a file):

"Jing! Shut up! Someone might hear. Focus on work, or I'll complain to Mr. Qian."

Qian (from behind, teasing):

"Complain about me? Jing, if you stop troubling Anya a little, maybe I'll gather the courage to take you out for coffee this evening."

Jing shyly lowered her eyelashes, and Anya finally breathed in relief.

But somewhere deep inside her heart, an uneasiness lingered—

"You blocked me, Lu Wei? Fine. I'll become your dear sister Anya's best friend. I'll win your mother's heart, and then let's see how you block me from your life!"

Fengning knew that Anya was Lu Wei's sister. She had shifted here without telling Zain because she wanted to enter Lu Wei's house through Anya.

Technically, Fengning wasn't Zain's real sister—but she was just like him.

If they liked something, they would destroy everything to get it.

The Unexpected Entry

It was afternoon. The office buzzed with work when suddenly a girl walked in from the reception. The click-clack of her high heels and the fragrance of expensive perfume grabbed everyone's attention.

It was Fengning, carrying large designer shopping bags in both hands.

She walked straight to Anya's desk and placed the bags down with a bright smile.

Fengning:

"Surprise! My sweet, cute, sweetheart Anya! How are you, darling?"

Anya's eyes widened in shock. She looked up—

This was the same arrogant neighbor with the red car!

But instead of anger, Fengning's face was now dripping with honey-like sweetness.

Without hesitation, Fengning hugged Anya tightly.

Fengning:

"Oh my God! You're so cute! With those big glasses and short hair, you look just like a doll!"

Anya (stammering):

"Y-You? Here? And what is all this?"

Fengning (holding Anya's hand):

"Oh sweetie, sorry about this morning! The place was new for me, so I got a little irritated. But then I realized how adorable my neighbor is. Here—this is a small gift to mark the beginning of our friendship!"

She pulled out an extremely expensive diamond bracelet from the bag.

Anya was stunned.

The same girl who had called her home a "rat hole" in the morning was now calling her "darling."

Just then, Huan Jing jumped in. She did not like this threat approaching her best friend at all. She pulled Anya's hand away from Fengning and stepped in front of her.

Huan Jing:

"Excuse me! Who's darling? Who's sweetheart? Keep your expensive glitter to yourself. Anya is my best friend, okay? We're enough to protect her. She doesn't need your 'fake' friendship!"

Fengning glanced at Jing sideways, as if she were an insignificant insect.

Fengning:

"Oh, so this is your little bodyguard? Cute."

Anya and Fengning's sudden closeness was completely unbearable for Jing.

To her, Anya was like a sister—her closest friend.

Huan Jing:

"Anya is my friend, Fengning!"

Fengning (locking eyes with her):

"She was… now she's ours."

A silent "eyebrow war" began between the two.

Anya stared at them both awkwardly, placing her pen on her lips, thinking innocently—

Around the office, people were now openly enjoying the drama.

Some pretended to read files, others peeked from behind their screens.

Anya (quickly jumping in between):

"Hey! Please, you two… this is an office, not a WWE ring!"
