Chapter 161 - 160. The Knight of the Lake? Targetting Rome!

Chapter 160: The Knight of the Lake? Sword Pointed at Rome!

On the crumbling isolated island, Arthur faced two sworn loyal retainers, a hint of helplessness and self-mockery flashing in his eyes.

The Will of this world was no mere talk; a vast amount of knowledge, like a bursting flood, brutally washed over his mind.

This was the price he had to pay for descending into this world as a "Chosen Hero."

The origins of the two people before him were also quite complex.

The witch named Guinevere was not the queen from the Britain legends, but a reincarnation of an ancient Earth Goddess.

And Lancelot was certainly not the legendary [Lake Knight]; his essence was a shadow of a god, a guardian existing solely to protect Guinevere.

The Last King they praised was a world balancer who had walked the earth even before myths had fully formed.

And Arthur was also given the same mission by this world—to purge all Godslayerss and provide raw materials for the world's recovery.

"In short, our goals are consistent," Arthur's voice was flat. "Since that's the case, you two will accompany me."

Hearing Arthur agree, Guinevere and Lancelot bowed in unison, their movements perfectly synchronized.

"We welcome your return, My King!"

Arthur waved his hand casually, signaling for them to rise.

He slightly tightened his grip on the Salvation God Sword, and a platinum stream of light bloomed from within him, then quietly receded.

Seeing this, Guinevere beckoned the floating Holy Grail back to her and spoke softly.

"My King, please accept the Holy Grail; it can assist you in recovering to your peak condition as quickly as possible."

Arthur looked down at the golden urn, which shimmered with internal light and was filled with an extremely rich Earth essence.

In the past, whenever the Last King completed his mission, he would exhaust his power and fall into slumber.

For this reason, the handmaidens would extract the essence of the Earth's ley lines, hoping that the King could recover quickly upon awakening.

Arthur was not the Last King, so he naturally didn't need the Holy Grail to help him recover, but—

He reached out and took the golden urn, his right hand forming a loose grip, and the Holy Sword, whose transformation had been interrupted, appeared, accompanied by a shower of golden flakes.

The sword's already precarious scabbard, due to his previous forceful use, had its alternating light and dark rhythm significantly weakened.

"This is!?"

"A Holy Sword!?"

Guinevere and Lancelot exclaimed in surprise, filled with confusion.

Why would the King, who should only wield the Salvation God Sword, possess another such terrifying weapon?

Arthur ignored their astonishment, brought his hands together, and the Holy Grail, overflowing with cursed power, transformed into a golden liquid that gently caressed the Holy Sword.

The essence from the Earth's ley lines acted like a powerful stimulant, re-energizing the Holy Sword's transformation.

The sword body emitted a clear, ringing sound, and ancient runes flowed ceaselessly upon it.

Arthur flipped his hand, storing the Holy Sword within him, then looked down at Lancelot, who was kneeling on one knee, and directly changed the subject.

"Next, we will wage war against the many Demon Kings of this world. With this broken body, can you truly serve me?"

The air instantly solidified.

Lancelot gazed adoringly at Arthur and Guinevere, falling into a long silence.

Guinevere bit her lower lip, looked up, and pleaded softly.

"My King, Uncle's memories are incomplete; is there truly a chance for him to transform back into a divine body?"

"No problem," Arthur nodded slightly. "With me here watching, he will not be consumed by belligerent madness."

After receiving his liege's assurance, Lancelot no longer hesitated and rose to his feet.

He surged with the immense divine power within him and explosively unleashed it!

The body of the shadow of a god was not flesh and blood; with a muffled bang, his battle-worn body shattered into a golden mist that remained condensed.

Arthur's silver eyes shimmered with divine radiance, and his Divine Word resounded through heaven and earth!

「Ye who float between heaven and earth, please lend your power temporarily. By the King's command, transform into a spear-tip that pierces all, and fight for me!」

The surging divine radiance transformed into a vast, sky-reaching silver storm, swirling furiously!

The golden mist at the storm's center was rapidly compressed and reshaped, and a tall figure flickered within it.

The next instant, the storm abruptly ceased.

A subordinate god, clad in shining silver armor and holding a reversed-thorn lance, stepped out.

The divine radiance brushed over her exquisitely beautiful, translucent face; her golden hair traced a graceful arc in the wind as the Knight Princess reached up to tuck it behind her ear, then knelt on one knee.

"Your subordinate, Lancia, once again pays her respects, My King."

"Fuwu!?"

Fou, who had been silently observing, couldn't help but poke her head out from Arthur's collar, her nimble beast eyes wide with shock.

Arthur, however, had long expected this. He scrutinized Lancia's beauty, which was in no way inferior to a goddess, yet still couldn't help but quip.

"So, how did you two women manage to cuckold King Arthur?"

Guinevere immediately blushed crimson and hastily defended herself.

"My King! Those are all errors from mythical legends! They have nothing to do with Guinevere!"

Lancia's expression also became a bit unnatural, and she cleared her throat twice.

"I hope My King will not tease your subordinate. As a warrior sworn to loyalty, I have no second thoughts!"

"Hmm—alright, enough small talk."

Arthur chuckled, smoothly moving past the topic, and then looked around at the restless, boundless sea.

"Where is this place? I don't sense the aura of a Godslayers Demon King nearby."

Guinevere quickly straightened her back, revealing an impeccable, elegant, faint smile.

"Reporting to My King, this is Sardinia, within Italy, and there are no Godslayers Demon Kings residing here."

Lancia slowly rose and added, "We both followed the Salvation God Sword here all the way, and to this day, we still don't understand why it chose this place for your descent."

Unlike their confusion, Arthur's eyes flashed with understanding the moment he heard "Sardinia."

The God King Mekal had a deep connection with this place; it was only natural for the Will of this world to choose it as the anchor point for his descent.

"Inconsequential matters, no need to dwell on them," Arthur's gaze turned to the distance. "Where is the nearest Godslayers Demon King from here?"

Guinevere lightly tapped her chin, gazing at the distant outline of the mainland.

"Three hundred kilometers from here, in Rome, resides a King who rules the entire Italian magic society."

She paused, a hint of solemnity and apprehension in her tone.

"The opponent is the youngest Godslayers Demon King of this era, known as the 'Sword King.' My King, what are your thoughts?"

Arthur gazed intently in the direction she indicated, a slight teasing smile playing on his lips.

"The youngest Godslayers Demon King? After all, it's just the first battle, so there's nothing wrong with picking an easy target."

「Thousand Winds, heed the call of the Sky-Soarer, come swiftly!」

As the Divine Word fell, Arthur immediately transformed into a wisp of clear wind, soaring high into the sky.

Lancia raised her hand, beckoning the agile white horse waiting nearby, and swung herself onto its back.

Guinevere followed closely, and the two rode together, galloping through the air.

"The hunt begins, target: the 'Sword King' of Rome!"

"Your wish is my command!"
